Congratulations! As long as you follow the plan, you have no where to go but down.
Sorry... it's the can you stay for dinner blog. www dot canyoustayfordinner dot com. She is a woman that lost 135 pounds and has some good insights and recipes. I think Gina mentioned it earlier.
Had a great conversation with my counselor on weigh in today. She brought up the idea that we should just continue Metabalance through Feb then wherever I am to switch to stabilization. I should probably be at 150 (my goal), but even if I'm not we're going to switch as she thinks I may continue to lose even on stabilization. Perfect, I didn't even have to bring it up So we talked stabilization a little. I think I'm motivated NOT to indulge in pizza on our trip this weekend but instead find a restaurant where I can get a good salad or Steak with broccoli.

That sounds good for you! And lots of people do seem to lose on Stabilization. My understanding is it starts at 1200 calories, so I would think you would. Anyway, I had earlier been tempted to post about Chuckie Cheese but then didnt. You can go out to celebrate and still stay reasonably on program. If you have kids with you I think a good chain restaurant option is Outback Steakhouse. There are things kids will eat and fairly clean proteins and veggies for you. Have fun - I saw that debt-free book in an airport booksore and thought of you!
camaswa-you totally had the right to kick me in the butt on thinking about pizza (and chuck e cheese isn't even that great of pizza!) Our hotel is right by a huge mall and I'm sure there will be lots of restaurant options...I hadn't thought of outback...who wouldn't rather go to outback than chuck e cheese. Kids will be happy just to swim at the hotel.
Hey there everyone. Sorry I've been so absent. I hope you're all doing great! Welcome to all the newbies, congrats to all who are losing, and stay strong to those who are struggling.
I just wanted to drop and tell you all what's going on with me. I haven't gotten below 141 and everytime I get close I go back up a few pounds. I'm still down about 8-9 lbs from when I started but that was over 2 months now and I can't seem to get below 141 again. I've been having some female issues since late last year and finally went in for a sonogram last Monday. They called a couple of days later to say that they found a mass on my left ovary. It could be just a cyst, but that couldn't be confirmed. I have an appointment for my primary care this afternoon, and at the GYN on Thursday AM. I've seen the films and the "mass" looks quite large, but of course, I have no medical knowledge. I've been trying very hard not to freak out about this and have only told my husband and a few of my closest friends (no family). I haven't been concerned with MRC at all. I went in and asked them to put me on a medical hold until I know more. I'm supposed to ask my doctor for something today. I don't want her to say "no, you should continue on with your diet", because I just can't concentrate on this right now. Hopefully she'll give me whatever I need to satisfy MRCs requirements. I'm kinda sad b/c I really wanted to earn some free weeks with Super Bowl and Valentine's Day coming up. At this point when I restart I'll only have 5 weeks and 3 day left, and still 20+ lbs to lose. I just can't worry about that right now though.
Anyway..I just wanted to tell you all why I've been a bit absent and I hope you have continued sucesses! I'll try to drop in here and there and hope to get things figured out on my end soon!
Rocki, don't beat yourself up over MRC. Your health is the most important thing right now and what you're going through may be the reason you can't get past 141. What's going on could also be increasing your hormone production and actually keeping you from losing weight. I don't know, but that would be my guess. You need to take care of you first and foremost. We're here for you if you need us.
Rocki-I know it's easier to say than do, but don't worry about the weight for now. Find out what the mass is, follow whatever steps you need to, then once you are mentally and physically ready to jump back into weight loss mode, you can. Even if you only have 5 weeks left, you have the tools and knowledge to continue on your own if you wish, or pay a renewal (maybe they'd work out a deal with you). Like Jen said, anything messing with your female organs has a huge impact on metabolism. Do focus on eating as healthy as you can...this coming from an emotional eater who wanted to devour anything chocolate when I had report of an abnormal pap...then found out it was just a miscommunication. So anything medical sends me into an eating tailspin (when it should do the opposite...motivate me to get fruits and veggies and whole foods to give nutrients to my body).
Rocki. What I am going to say is another one of those easier said than done things- I totally agree that this is no time to be stressing about the scale and going through the motions at the center. In your shoes, however, I fear I would start using food to cope with the understandable anxiety. Can you find a happy medium where even if you are on a medical hold you are still following the food plan as best you can? Could you simply consider it the way you eat now: lower carb, lower fat, with a focus on protein? Then, when you are ready to jump back in the game, you may find yourself surprised and relieved to discover that no great damage was done. It would be so depressing for you to gain now. Wishing you the best.
