thanks for the prayers and Merry Christmas everyone.
being on plan has been very hectic, i am managing to get my HNS down, but other than that its a hit or miss as far as eating.
My daughter is still in the hospital on antibiotics for diverticullitis(sp). Still running tests and this is very frustrating.

Merry Christmas to you too.. I know how frustrating this can be.. Don't stress out on the diet right now, just concentrate on your daughter.. You are doing the best you can under the circumstances, and that is good enough. Please keep us informed on your daughter and both of you are in my prayers this day. It sure is a challenge at times being a Mom, eh? Take care of yourself, and keep your strength up..

Just wanted to tell everyone Merry Christmas really quickly before I run out the door to go be with family. It's been really quiet this morning. Stayed up after work last night and made the turkey...while it was roasting I did Hip Hop Abs and Zumba! Really proud of myself for doing that and not even waking up the husband. REally paid for it this morning though...I think someone beat me. But so far, really quiet, have about an hour trip to Northwest Arkansas and then it'll be full of family and friends. Sadly, no more quiet. Thanks for being here ladies...you help make the day a little easier.

Weighed at home and was 144.5. Went to center and was 145, but kept bouncing back and forth from 144.5-145. So, they gave me the free week for losing over the holiday. I'm happy because I at least stayed the same. One more event to get through and I'll be glad to have the extra challenges behind me. Want to earn one more free week for losing over NYE. Should be easier because I have a party Thursday but nothing Saturday. I can weigh Friday, then Monday.

That is terrific Rocki! My center is giving a free week if you come in on the 26th or 27th. I'm going in tomorrow but probably will show a gain. I ate and drank quite a lot on Christmas Eve and Day. As much as I talk about facing the scales, I couldn't do it this morning. But tomorrow for sure. It is whatever it is...

Rocki 12-26-2011 08:45 PM

Thanks camaswa! Good luck tomorrow. I celebrated by eating ham, sweet potato casserole, chopped liver, and pumpkin pie..UGH! Really I didn't eat that much but it felt like it and it was totally off plan..was up tonight..s/b back in 2 days! :)

Back from holiday at the beach - we had such a good time! weather was a huge surprise - it was in the 80s! we were camping (motorhome) and packed sweatshirts and pants and had only 2 pairs of shorts and couple tshirts - the outdoor pool was open and people were swimming in the ocean! i thought it was a bit cold for that (we were in St. Augustine, FL) but it didn't seem to bother them :-) walked the dogs in the am and pm, rode our bikes, ate alot of salads and fresh shrimp, fish and had lobster for Christmas - got take out from a recommended taco shop and asked the super cute chef what he preferred and he fixed me this incredible fish taco baja style (cabbage, fresh cilanto, salsa) i threw away most of the shell and enjoyed the fish and seasonings.. we did have ham one day -small portion. have to say the walnut choc. fudge was worth me walking more on the beach to burn off!! had some of the HNSs daily but didn't get all the water in. planning on doing metaquick tomorrow. my DH is eating the gourmet caramel popcorn and wish i could throw the rest of the "temptations" out the door!! my DH kept offering me some and i'm like nope i'm back on plan. he said well you weren't this weekend were you? wanted to smack him! i think he was getting excited that maybe i wouldnt be OP anymore.

anyway, i have to be strong and not eat any of this stuff in the house! BTW, my shorts were so baggy!!!!! i'm not weighing in till friday...

Rocki..i got the Roadside Lemonade by Syntrax. i also drink the Protidiet Pink Lemonade...love both of them! i think i mentioned this - the choc. truffle is excellent hot too :-)

Rocki 12-26-2011 10:11 PM

Welcome back. Good job and tim ong the lobster. Chocho truffle doesnt mix well for me hot. Will try one of the the lemonades. Thank you. I used to live in StAug. It's great there, and yes, it was hot in FL this weekend.

You said it,Patzi. I kind of cringe when people say they "cheated." Who do they think they are cheating? They simply ate something that wasn't on program. Interesting what you said about your friend who went off all the time and still was upset that she didn't lose. I know my slower loss is mostly due to the frequency I am having wine, as well as my difficulty with water. This definitely isnt the kind of program you can re-jigger to suit yourself, its not flexible like Weight Watchers. It's also a lot faster and simpler if you really stick to it. When I started that was one of the things they stressed. they said so many clients had ben on many diets before and they would kind of pick and choose - like Adkins allows bacon, and MRC is also low-carb, so.... but it just doesnt work that way. I personally have resisted the portion sizes, probably because i too remember low-carb diets in which you could eat all you want of meat, for example, or even fats. I hate to measure. But it really helps you lose better when you do.

You know the saying: the program works if you do.

you are exactly right, it works if you do! i love the way this program makes me feel and when i go off plan, feel crappy so that's real motivation to continue on plan. For the New Year, my goal is to try more of the MRC recipes to continue to stay motivated. still have not made the turkey meatloaf (my DH bought me a new muffin pan for Christmas) LOL! i want to try the spinach quiche too. when i'm out of town, i do make healthier choices and eat alot of salads but my weakness is chocolate. at least the protein bars are a better choice than real chocolate :-) When im tempted to overindulge i'll have to remember how much i like a flat stomach and the feeling of not being stuffed!

Well I have to face the scale today...I'm actually dreading it today. I had a fabulous christmas, had a small chunk of ham, not kidding you it was bite, and then a cookie. My favorite are no bake cookies. But that was it, but I believe that was the push I needed because monday night...I was in the cookie bag like crazy...really good all day long till night fall and then it was a chunk of chocolate bark, a no bake cookie, several bits of chocolatey something. I tried the washing it all down with protein drinks or protein, like cheese but this morning my new scale was yelling at me. I haven't checked how well the centers and my scale matches so today will be the test. But my scale shows a gain...so I'm pretty certain the centers scale will show a gain too. Glad everybodies Christmas' were great and Bigdog how I would have loved to be at the beach this christmas instead of at families' house...it got ugly. Thinking next year I am following your lead.

this is the first year we were not with our families for Xmas - my mom passed away a couple years ago(she loved Christmas and it's not the same w/out her), my dad is in an assisted living (Alzheimers) so sold family home...my DH's parents don't really celebrate Christmas (his mom has Alzheim)... both are doing well, BTW - memory drugs are a miracle. but my DH needed a break (his parents live here -we both work full and overtime! and take care of them) hired a home health care nurse so was able to get away for a few days. we saw my family in Nov and going back again in Feb. TMI, i know! anway, holidays are stressful w/ family getting together.... that's what they have alcohol for. haha!

it was the best time ever @ the beach! my sis sent a video of my family singing christmas carols - too funny

So how ugly did it get? we did miss the drama - haha!! are you laughing about it yet?

Rocki 12-27-2011 11:23 AM

Sorry to hear about the drama Cassie..I hope your weigh in didn't go too bad, but I'm with you today..My scale was yelling at me as well. I was up 3 lbs and that (I'm thinking) was a combination of Christmas catching up to me, and yesterday's off plan choices. Back on today and drinking my cherry protein drink now..

Bigdog..I meant to say the lobster was Yummy, OMG! I was typing on my phone in the bathroom really late and couldn't see and have the swype autocorrect keyboard (hate it!). LOL..the sweet potato casserole is great, but I should have made it for the holiday so it would all be gone (eaten by family), instead of waiting until the day after when there were only 3 of us eating it..now I have most of it left. I think I'll freeze it after hubby has some today. The ham and everything else is about gone. Thank goodness !

Chickadee 12-27-2011 12:19 PM

I agree that it's good to be back to regular eating. I gained a pound, so I'm now eating as cleanly as I possibly can. Tae Kwon Do tonight should help too. I need to remember how crappy I felt after eating the wrong food - and not even very much of the wrong food! I feel all bloaty and icky.

I want to go frolic on the beach like bigdog. That sounds like a perfect Christmas!

Yes Patzi it has been challenging. Final diagnosis diverticullitis and she has a tumor on her intestines... they will watch for a couple of weeks and then more tests to determine what they will do. Thanks for the concern.

according to my scale i have gained 3 pounds, not good but will work extra hard to get them off. Hope everyone has a blessed and productive day.
