Funny Story. had some LL bean cargo pants on this am walking the dogs and they almost fell off!!! they were dragging the ground and i kept tripping on the dang things!! so donating them to Goodwill - they slowed down my walk trying to keep them up! haha

I LOVE this... It is ok they slowed your walk down, look at the weight you lost for them to do this..

Giving them away is such a good thing, as that is from another time, and this is now... Be proud of where you are, even if you pants are falling down. LOL.
Great story.

Today was killer...Christmas gathering tonight and there were cheesecakes, brownies, and a cookie exchange...and guess who got sent home with the extra?? They got put out in the freezer for DH to take treats to work. But I didn't eat a darn one...not a single bite, not even of the cheesecake.

Then I went to a pampered chef party because I wanted to get a good cutting knife for my veggies...and forgot that there would be a ton of food. i just stayed away from the table, but it was killing me as I had already said no to the cheesecake. Since I had just been at another party I said "oh, I'm already full"...but was kinda busted since someone else had also been at the previous party and noticed I hadn't eaten there either. Just enjoyed my decaf tea, but inside was dying for something...

so I got home wanting to figure out if I could make some kind of a cookie or something with an HNS...settled for spagetti squash with splenda and cinnamon. What is my life coming to? Spagetti squash to replace cheesecake??? I just have to keep saying "it will be worth it, it will be worth it, it will be worth it..."

It will, right?

I just have to say I wish I had the will power that some of you ladies have. So far I haven't really been tempted with anything too harsh in this holiday season, but we're having Christmas at my grandfathers on the 25th and I am helping to cook and bake for that. So I just pray for the strength to chew my gum and not nibble and sample.

Thank you all for the kind words. She's hanging in there and so am I. As of this morning, I was down to 147.6. Weigh in tomorrow. Then come Friday at 5 pm, I'm on vacation until January 3. Woohoo!

bigdog 12-14-2011 09:29 AM

Gina, it is worth it!!! when i joined in August, i took it day by day and am amazed at how well this plan works. i was just thinking how much i love my cinnamon toast every morning - i savor every bite! wonder if this is how thin people think every day? like, i sure am enjoying this celery stalk - yummy!!! :-)
now that i've lost weight, my friends really watch everything i eat!!

i will have to confess...at the last Christmas party, i did really well w/ the food part (i did taste the cheese cake but skipped the carb for b-fast and fruit for lunch to allow for a couple bites) but i overdid the cocktails and felt like crap the next day. i've always been a light weight but w/ eating less and drinking too much - ugh! i need to always keep a wine glass or glass of water w/ me at all times at parties. that was just stupid planning on my part. i'm finally back to the 174 on my ticker and the party was this past Sunday. when i was going to the gym, the trainer would tell me that i did great work days, 5 days a week working out, eating right but would undo my efforts on the weekend! sad but true. another party coming up and i'll be carrying my own glass in filled w/ water and lemon. i'm taking some vodka and diet tonic water too but it will be super heavy on the tonic water! i can do this!!!! maybe i'll just have water - i may surprise myself. will be wearing my tummy control tight black jeans for sure - if i overeat or overdrink in those, it kills my stomach! :-) have a great week everyone!

P.S. this morning i woke up and told myself...I WILL BE ON PLAN TODAY!

So I did make it to weigh in yesterday and the scale did not reflect how fabulous I was feeling...I was down a whopping 0.5 pounds. The counselor I saw suggested the All Day Weight Loss supplement for me but I declined. My crawl-out-of-bed-empty-my-bladder-get-naked weight was 166 this morning, though! That was really encouraging. I feel like I've been in the upper 160s a little too long.

This time of year is hard...I've really had to decide I"m NOT going to eat certain things, not just "hope" that I don't. The mindset change is amazing. for the most part, the key is just keeping the stuff I can't eat out of the house, not going into a convenience store, etc. This time of year is harder with the get togethers. I took the easy way out and bought already cut out sugar cookies for the kids to decorate...didn't want to go through all the work and not be able to eat them, or the chance of nibbling.

Another suggestion I have is to set yourself a (non-food) reward for not engaging in holiday goodies. This spring I was trying to cut out sweets, so I went 8 weeks without. If I did it, I was allowing myself money to buy new sandals. If I ate sweets, I was going to wear my same old sandals that summer. It was motivation when I saw something I wanted to eat...I would think "old crappy sandals, or new fun sandals"...I stuck to it-and bought 2 pair:)

Today is my last "party" until the 24th. The 24th we'll be with my family which is traditionally a trigger, but my parents are also doing MRC so are coming up with things that are OP...like turkey smokies in walden farms bbq sauce, veggie tray, OP chili, etc. But my bigger issue is the next 8 days I sit at basketball games all night (anywhere from 3-8 games a day) and I plan on packing my own meal rather than eat in the hospitality room, coming up with items that don't look too crazy when I'm eating them on the bench between games. Was thinking a piece of chicken in a wrap with some veggies or maybe just getting some protein bars. I know they say don't do them for supper, but I may just need to. Especially as sometimes I get busy and don't really have time to eat, but don't want to get famished.

I saw the 160's today...okay, barely, but I'm there and not going back. 1 lb to my lowest EVER!

From someone that went thru the tough times and made it to maintenance, it is worth it more than I can say. I would not have changed a thing I did during losing weight.. Be proud of yourself, you have great will power, and that is a great achievement.. It is difficult to stay OP , but it can be done and at the end you will be glad you did.. Proud of you, so please be proud of yourself, as you deserve it.

i love this program but hate that MRC's solution to everything is to push more pills!! i've lost alot of inches all over but a little less in my stomach - instead of saying, hey Big Dog, do some sit ups or drink more water! or ask the question...are you pmsing? oh,no, it was you need to do the Internal Cleanse and take the Corti Trim... i tune them out when they push pills and get the heck out of there!
just make sure you have the lightest clothes possible to weigh in (it does make a difference) if i exercise alot in the am before weigh in, it can reflect 2 lbs more!

Happy Hump Day Everyone! I was down 1lb @ weigh in yesterday and down another 1lb today..147.8 I think. I think that's just 1/10 of a lb more than my lowest weight of the year. Super excited to be going towards the 130s again. I bought some quinoa and have had it as a dessert and really enjoyed it. I did the spinach quiches yesterday and those are better reheated in my opinion. I'm making the turkey meatloaf tonight. I'm feeling so much better knowing I'm eating right.

What do you all do if you skip a meal? I skipped breakfast (not intentionally) this morning and then had the quiches and my quinoa for lunch. Should I add a fruit as well? That way I'll have had 1 fruit and 2 starches (if I do one with dinner) for the day?

Jen..glad to hear you're hanging in, and great job on the weight loss!

Patzi..as ever, you are an awesome encouragement everyday! I love reading your posts.

Bigdog..where did you get the skinny, tummy tightening jeans? I need some of those. I have some of the tummy panel tank tops (I got @ Sam's Club) and they really make me think twice about eating too much (or moving too much for that matter) :)

Cassie..You can DO this! It's hard. It's much harder for some to stay OP than others. I understand, really. I have no willpower, but somehow I'm doing it right again! It's a LOT of self-help/talk. That is for sure. You have to constantly be in your head telling yourself you can do it, and what NOT to cave into! :)

Bighog..WOOHOO on the 160s! That is SO awesome! Keep it up!

Gina..good luck with all the games and keeping your cooler stocked with stuff you can have. I'm sure it will be tough, but you know you can do it! The bars are great if there's nothing else and it's easier for you. That's way better than fast food and junk from the mini-mart.

Down 3 lbs at WI yesterday!

Thanks Gina and Teacherlady for the feedback yesterday. My counselor at WI last night said the exact same thing! I am feeling a little less miserable today and I was down 3lbs at WI yesterday. That's great, considering I had a rough pre-conditioning week.

Have a good day everyone!

Weigh in clothes...
I found two weeks ago in Target some very no weight leggings for $8.99. They are great to weigh in.. I bought a couple of pairs as I wear same clothes to weigh in. A light weight bottom and a lightweight cotton tee. I bought a new pair of legging jeans since I lost the weight, I am experimenting with new clothes here and there, but when I had them weighed in at center they were a pound, so do not wear them.. They said they were willing to take off a pound of I wore them, but to me, that becomes too complicated, if I don't have the same consultant each week.

When it is cold here in the south, wear same light clothes and put a jacket over it and then take a heavy sweater to work to wear over the tee.. I have this all figured out.. LOL

A few weeks ago I asked what everyone else did about WI clothes...I had not been wearing the same outfit but one week I posted a 1.5 pound gain and I was wearing jeans, so I vowed never to do that again. Once a week I weigh in on my way to work so I wear a t-shirt and some type of workout bottoms, sometimes capris, sometimes pants, but they are all lightweight. (I work in a gymnastics center so I can get away with this outfit, lol) :)
