  • I don't know who posted it, but Jen is correct, potatoes do come back on maintenance plus lots of good things, even peanut butter, yesirree....

For those that went off program, don't beat yourself up... Just focus and go ahead... You will be fine.. Really, just forget it and start again being OP.

RedRider... Your weight loss is great from when you started.. Did the consultant say anything about not losing? They usually go thru your journal to suggest something.. If not, next time you weigh in, ask them to suggest something to get you started again, maybe Meta Quick, which always worked for me.. But all in all, nice weight loss. Oh, I found out when I had a stall if I would eat egg beaters in morning and more fish vs. other protein, it would kickstart my weight loss. That is another option if you don't want to do Meta Quick. Both ways worked for me.

  • Re: Potatoes..
On week 1 of Stabilization you can add 1 small potato or 1/2 cup. That is a white potato

Sweet potato you can have 1 small or 1/2 cup.

So that is a good thing, and something to look forward to.

  • Quote: Did you go to Joes Crab Shack by chance??? They have a smore type dessert also...You naughty girl!!! LOL

    Tami
OH YEA GIRL THAT WAS THE ONE!! So you've seen it and know how good it looked. I just couldn't say no to that mountain of goodness. lol

JENB I've already told my husband not to expect me to stay OP on my birthday. I turn 40 this year and plan to celebrate!!
  • Count me in as one who went off plan. I did fine on the blue menu for two days and then got some bad news about a job interview and fed my emotions instead of my body. I've been off plan for four days but I have chicken breasts thawing out for supper. I dread weighing in tomorrow but I need that reality check.

At least the sun is shining today.

Patzi-What is Meta Quick? Where do you get it? Just want to know options if things don't go down like I'd like! Not sure when my next WI is, whenever we can get back up there. It's 45 minutes away from us so we don't go too often. I know I'm not stepping on my scale until friday at least Been OP today so far, just need to drink H2O.

  • Hey there...so I have never posted to a forum before but I figured why not and I could def use the support. So a little background on myself...Just had a baby about 6 months ago and had gained about 60lbs. I lost 30 of it right away, but the last 30 has been killing me.
So the other day I went to visit a high school friend who I have no seen in person for 2 years. She used to weigh about 300lbs at 5'11". Now she looks like a super model. She did it with exercise, obviously, and but doing Atkins. She told me the low down on what she does and I thought...well if she can do it so can I.
I began this past Friday which was Sept. 9th. I went to the gym Saturday, Sunday and Monday (yesterday)...taking today off cause I'm a bit sore....
Well the reason why I am posting this is because I need some help and support. I am really nervous that I am going to get frustrated and fall off the wagon and I really don't want to. I want to feel beautiful again like I used to.

    Nichole...
The Center has the Meta Quick diet.. Just ask them about it and they will go thru it with you, and suggest to you how long they think you should stay on it and if it is advisable.

  • POTATOES??? IN WEEK ONE OF STABILIZATION?!!!! Patzi, you just made my day! I'll be able to have potatoes by the end of the month!!! Yippeee!!!
  • HI ladies! Count me in as one that was OP, I just couldn't get past the cookies last week for some reason. I'm back ON program now, but now have strep and am SO sick! I've forced down a shake today and some cheese this morning, so I guess it's not OP, but it's something. I've been bouncing around 202 for a week now--I just need a jump start, but I haven't figured it out yet. I just want to be UNDER 200 for once. It's been 10+years since I've been that low, and I'm so close.
    Have a great night!

You are sooo funny! That is where my husband and I went while in San Diego...I did see that dessert, but did an appetizer instead...the dreaded crab dip nachos Very yummy...but very naughty, too!!

That is a coincidence! I am turning forty in October, and yes...I plan to celebrate like you

  • Hello, ladies. I will confess, I too, have been off plan lately. I have been stuck at this same weight for about 2 months. That is very frustrating when I am only 17 pounds from goal. I have increased my exercise by alot and have noticed a difference in how I feel, but the weight is just not budging. So, my last day of the current plan is October 25th. I told my consultant that at that time, I would go into stabilization, no matter what my weight is. You see, my husband is scheduled to deploy for a year at the beginning of next year, and I need to learn some stabilization techniques and go into maintenance before he leaves. I tend to eat when I am bored, and boredom is going to be really bad because he is the life of the party at home. So, I figure, I need to learn to maintain before he leaves.

I am working hard to get the rest of the weight off, but not beating myself up over it, because I feel great and look fantastic!

    Thanks for listening...
  • Fluffy In Florida, I totally know what you mean about hitting forty. That happens for me in January (Friday the 13th, no less ), but I should be at goal weight by then. What a birthday present that will be!

Little Edie, Hang in there. Get this weigh in behind you and go from there. It's a fresh start.

Nichole, Meta-Quick is their version of a shake diet, but you can do it for no more than 7 days a month (either together or spread out, but no more than 7). A shake for breakfast, one for lunch, and then a normal dinner. It's a great plateau buster.

afm1224, Welcome! Have you started pre-conditioning yet? Let us know if you have any questions.

RaRaF, I'm so sorry you're sick. I hope it passes quickly.

Tami, I'm happy to be in such good company of another member of the almost 40 club.

evinsmom, Just try your best for the next few weeks and you will be much happier for it. And just because you hit stabilization, doesn't mean that it's the end of your weight loss. From what I've seen, many ladies continue to lose when they hit stabilization.

It's still amazing me how many of us are struggling at the same time. I wonder if it's the time of year. As for me, I'm committing to taking it ONE DAY at a time instead of a week or a month. A day seems easier to handle.

So, to keep me accountable, I'm putting it out there to you awesome ladies that I will stay OP today. I promise to check in tomorrow morning and post how I did. I've hung in there for 2 days, now to make it three.

    Have a great day everyone!!!
  • Re: Meta Quick..

My center does a bar and a HNS for breakfast
A shake with no HNS OR a bar and HNS for lunch

Regular menu that is on your plan for supper..

I had to look it up, as it has been awhile since I did it.

I normally eat at Joe's with no problem of wanting anything extra. And in all honesty, I think I just used my anniversary as a reason to have a big ole piece of chocolate cake, graham crackers and marshmelloy goodness. lol

And this is an awesome time to be 40 YEA US!!

JENB you are with us too... I wonder how many of us nearly 40 or 40 there are.

I was wondering where you have been. Haven't seen you post in forever. Sorry to hear about the deployment coming but I do understand. (hubby retired-AF) But hey just hit me up if you ever want to hang our or need support or anything. I'm much better at the support for others than myself.

Believe it or not, they have modified the menu. I've got the latest version that was just issued in June. Your center may not have gotten it yet. It says:

    Breakfast and Lunch
1 MRC HNS & 1 Bar or Shake

    Dinner
    4 oz. protein
    1 serving of veggies
1 slice of 40 cal bread or 1 serving of Melba toast

    Daily
1 scoop of MRC Super Veggi or Super Fruit & Veggi
    2 HNS

They even modified which proteins you can eat. Not sure why all the changes though.
