Hi ladies~

Well, I just came off of a 3-day "Metaquick" menu. That isn't as much fun....as I felt hungry much of the time. I do believe I lost some, but we will see for sure at my next WI.

I am going to have to go back to once a week WI....My kids start school, and driving out of town and back in time for them won't work out.

I am kinda worried that the last stretch of weightloss my be more challenging? Anyone find that to be the case?

Well, I do know that while our menus can get boring sometimes, all one has to do is eat bars and shakes for 3 days and our menus are wonderful!!!! LOL

I have a couple of new recipes if anyone would like me to share those~

Hi ladies,

Just got back from vacation and WI today. I lost .5 pounds. I was hoping for more since I biked around like a crazy woman! I know I didn't get enough water so I'm hoping it will come up when that goes up again.

Hello everyone,
Weighed in this morning and 1.5 loss. I keep doing the yo-yo thing. Up 2 down 2. Really gonna try this weekend and have a loss on Tues. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and get your water in.

Hi all,

Sorry I have not been around much, but August is very busy for me. We homeschool and started this week. It has been fun, but busy. I hope to be arround more starting next week.

My food choices have been okay, but not always spaced properly and exercise has been nonexistant right now. I think I've worked out a schedule that will allow me to get everything in, including exercise and sleeping, but this is always a challange at the start of the school year. I have had little sleep and that is affecting my weight loss, but this should get back to normal now as well so hopefully between the changes in my thryoid medicine and getting back OP in all areas the wait will start to fall off again.

I have not gained, but I really have not lost much in the last 2 weeks either and with the crazy, stressful time I've had I am happy with that.

Congrats to all you losers and welcome to the newcomers. . . I hope to go back and read the posts for the last 2 weeks tomorrow to see how everyone is doing. . .

Measurements

Hi ladies

How often do they take your measurements when you weigh in? Also the only thing that I am craving is a diet soda. Any suggestions. I hope everyone has a great weekend

I drink "Diet Rite." It has no calories, no caffeine, no sugar and no sodium!
They have only taken my measurements 3 times in 15 weeks.

I believe they're supposed to take your measurements once a month. I've only had mine done once since I started program at the end of June.

WI today and it went better than last time! Down a pound. Now to have a great OP weekend so I can post a bigger loss next WI! My goal is to get to 215 by the end of August. 7 lbs should be totally doable.

WI this week weren't good for me--stayed the same on Tuesday and gained 0.5 yesterday. I've been eating the cheesecake for breakfast several mornings a week and I think it's causing constipation, so I'm going to eat something different this week and see if it helps. I think I am also going to cut back on my water. I'm still getting in the same amount (sometimes more) as I was when I started this journey. But, now I'm 32 pounds lighter, so maybe I'm drinking more than I should. I know several of you have said your center told you 1/2 of your weight, so that would be 63 oz for me and I've been drinking 85-100. We'll see-I sure hope next week is better (even thought it will be TOM, so maybe not!)! The weight is sure coming off slower now that I am getting close to goal! Congrats to this week's losers and everyone have a great weekend!

Hi All,
I'm still pluggin along, too. 4 weeks on plan now with only 2 off plan events. One at a dinner with a friend about 2 weeks ago. One last night...TOM and not enough sleep the night before....bad combo. I felt miserable and just needed some carbs. It's fascinating how the hormonal swings can impact our bodies so much. So I had the package of choc. crisps (OK to have 1/week per plan), then 1 slice of bread with nutella, and 1/4 cup Kashi crunch with splash of milk.

Anyway, the biggest change for me has been that when I decided to go off plan, it is a carefully thought-out decision, not a rash "auto-pilot" move. I had quite a detailed chat with myself that went something like this: "What are you doing? Do you really want that? Are you hungry? It this really going to help?" and answered. "I know I'm not hungry. I'm going to have this 1 serving and enjoy it. Yes, I really want it. I don't want to deny myself right now. It will make me feel better and will be worth it BUT it doesn't give me license to binge tonight. I will not allow myself to be remorseful about it and I won't continue to go off plan beyond this choice."

So here I am in the morning, with no regrets! No negative self talk. It's back to plan, nothing has changed. Vastly different mindset. It does help that I am not weighing myself everyday. I am weighing once a week and an occasional "spot check".

I expected a plateau so skipped the scale 2 Mondays ago, weighed last Monday-yup no weight change as expected...then 1 pound dropped as of Friday...not changing the ticker, yet, to make sure it "sticks". I'll weigh again next Monday and see where I stand.

Wishing everyone a great weekend.

For those on Meta Quick.. I was told by Center not to do that often. Just to do it when on a long plateau that one cannot seem to get out of. They told me not to use it as a convenience.

Goneforgood1128.
Try varying your breakfasts, and that may help. There are many variations for breakfast that you could do, that would help. Try not to have same item each morning. When I was close to goal, the weight came off so slow. Some weeks nothing at all, some .2 or nothing. That is where I came up with I took a seed off, being there were weeks where only point something came off. Hang in there, it will come off, just stay on program and try to vary what you are eating on all meals and maybe that will help.

As for measurements, I found they take them whenever. They never took them monthly on me.. But each center is different. Before I hit maintenance, I believe they took measurements 5 times.

Momoffour..
So glad to hear from you. I was worried about you and posted a couple of weeks ago if anyone had heard from you.

Tamikl
I am always looking for new recipes. Would love to have you post them.
The last part of weight loss was challenging, as it was slow coming off, but if you work with consultant and stay totally OP it will come off, I promise. As I said above, mine was real slow, but I did hit goal, so hang in there.

Congrats to all the losers, and those having a struggle, hang in there, it will turn around.. If can't do it on your own, have the consultant go over your journal each time you go and make suggestions. Consultant asked for my journal each time I weighed in till I hit maintenance. Journal every thing you
put in your moth, including anything you drink and any exercise you do.

Everyone have a great weekend and think thin.

Thank you, Patzi, for the advice. I do tend to get in a rut and eat the same things for meals (mainly for breakfast and lunch), mainly because that is the easiest! But, you're right, I need to work on varying those two meals. I'm not a very creative person (especially with regard to meals), so that makes it even harder to come up with different ways to get the food groups in at meals. But, I'm going to see if I can't mix things up a bit this week!

When I first started I went into our recipes forum for ideas and that really helped me..

Hello Everyone, I weighed in on Friday and was down 1.5 which is a total of 2.5 this week. I was disappointed but it is a lost. That's a total of 6 for the past two weeks. Still wondering if the vegetarian plan is going to get me the 3-5lbs a week. Is anyone else doing the vegetarian plan? I cant do the clear HNS due to the gelatin. For now I have two creamies a day. If anyone has any ideas for substitutes please let me know.

AmandaR78 08-21-2011 09:16 PM

I love hearing all of you going through the exact same things... I am new to MRC and was VERY skeptical upon joining. Since joining Aug 8th, I've lost 6.5lbs. I hope to start my green menu on Tuesday, thank goodness because I am a creature of habit and tend to do the same things! So I really need to mix it up a bit.

Hi all,

I haven't been on in a while--been busy with work starting back up.

So far, so good on maintenance. I've stayed under 190lbs since we got back from Alaska in mid-June. It's not always been easy, but I"m hoping that getting back into my regular routine will help.

THis weekend was rough, food-wise, but I"m hoping that upping my exercise and being extra-careful this week will even it out. I went out for drinks with co-workers on Friday, and I ended up having one glass of chardonnay, chips & salsa, and then some of the nachos that someone ordered for the table. Yesterday was hubby's company party, with a luau theme and yummy cheesecake. I waaaay overate yesterday (made the mistake of eating super-light all day prior and arriving super-hungry) and felt sick all the rest of the afternoon/evening. Today was okay, back OP, until we went to MIL's bday party. She got the carrot cake and ice cream I love from a nearby shop. I didn't have much, but I really didn't need to have any, in all honesty.

But, it's all about choices and consequences, and so I'll just have to be extra active and extra careful this week in order to balance out my food choices this weekend, I guess.

Tamikl--I had a really, really hard time getting the last few pounds off to hit my goal. I think part of it was physical (your body is working more efficiently by the time you are close to goal weight), but a lot of it was mental--I felt "done" with the diet, and it was almost like I wanted to jump ahead and be in stabilization already.

Welcome to all the newcomers and congrats to all the losers!
