  • Quote: Went for WI this morning.. I was anxious about knowing if I was going to be able to sign the 40lb board. So I didn't talk much with the consultant - we went into the scale and 41lbs down!!!!!!

I lost 6lbs this week! I haven't lost that much since pre-conditioning. I have no idea how especially with traveling. I know I up'd my water intake and drank 5 HNS each day I was in Chicago.

So here's to keep on keeping it OFF! And taking on the 50lb board!!
That is so awesome!! You are such an encouragement!

  • I just made the Strawberry Banana Shake on page 271 MRC cookbook.

It it good.. It says maintenance only, and replaces one fruit and 1 supplement.
I would think there would be a way that this could fit into the Meta Slim Plus program, but not sure, may want to check with counsultant.Maybe by changing the fruit. It is refreshing.

Here it is, if anyone has any suggestions on how to put it into another menu, vs.maintenance so others can enjoy.

1 small pkg. strawberry gelatin supplement
    1/2 small banana
    6 oz. diet creme soda
    5 ice cubes.
Mix all ingredients in blender until smooth.Pour into chilled glas

    Servies 1
    Maintenance onyl
replces fruit and 1 clear supplement

  • Weighed in yesterday, down 3 lbs. Have hit a first stall. -7 total so far.
  • Quote: momoffour-congrats on signing the 30 lb board!!! I finally made it there too. It just goes to show, if we stick with it, it will happen!
Congrats on signing the 30 lb board. It felt really good to sign the board after working so hard to lose the last few pounds - hopefully the 40 lb board won't take quite so long.

  • Crawling back
Time for me to get back on the program. I've been totally off since the winter holidays, and believe me, the pounds have come back. Crazy self-defeating, out-of-control eating. At first it was only 5 pounds, then ten, etc. I just weighed myself. I am 13 pounds over where I was when I stopped caring. None of my new slim clothes really fit. So here I am again. I figure it is a good time to focus on self. School is out in a week, and I have total control over the food in the house. We are going to be traveling a lot in June, but we are riding motorcycles in the heat which tends to dampen the appetite. This forum has always been such a help. Thanks in advance to all of you.

Glad to see you back... You can do it.

No shame in gaining some back--as long as you stop and reverse it before it gets out of hand. Glad to see you back!

School just got out for us (Wednesday is my last day), so I'm hoping to have a less-stressful summer and time to focus on myself, as well.
  • Well, I weighed in Saturday on our way out of town, and I stayed right at 195--no gain, no loss, even with the introduction of dairy that started on Wednesday. Yay!

Went up to the in-laws' cabin for the weekend and did fine on Saturday, mostly fine yesterday. Went to yoga Saturday morning before leaving town, and on Sunday I forced myself to go out and jog down the road a ways for 10-15 mins (I usually bike 12 mins and run 28 mins on the elliptical at the gym--and jogging on hard ground is TOTALLY different, I discovered), then walked another 15 mins.

I was craving chocolate BAD after dinner yesterday, so I had a packet of chocolate soy crisps--which was only sort-of off plan, as it was 1 more supplement than I'm allowed to have in stabilization. But then my brother-in-law's girlfriend (who is skinny and super-fit--a PE major at the university) decided to make PB & chocolate brownies. We were out of eggs, so she substituted bananas. It smelled wonderful and was gooey out of the oven, so I ended up having a pretty good size portion.

The gym is closed today so I couldn't go to yoga tonight. I'll probably try pilates tomorrow instead, but now I'm worried that my calories in are exceeding my calories out (due to all my extra "treats" the last few days). I just don't want to gain.

Unfortunately, I've also noticed that stabilization makes me hungry and gives me more cravings again. My center explained it to me as happening because the addition of these foods back into my diet causes blood sugar dips and cravings again. Not sure what to do to overcome these cravings and feelings of hunger...
  • Totally a self defeating weekend....the last two days, I've only consumed 2 HNS supplements...and I haven't ate 100% on plan because we have been out of town...Some restaraunts just do not have the options for the plan...try eating at Old Chicago and tell me there is cuz there isnt! Nothing is grilled or dry! I ended up doing a Meditteranean small salad andd some wings... Breakfast at Perkins sucked cuz the have no egg whites on menu..only Egg Beaters so I did a grilled chicken omelet with that and some fresh fruit and one piece of dry whole wheat toast!!!!!!!!I am struggling can't lose weight the last few weeks, no energy, terrible gut problems AND have not had my Period since on the plan........and NO I am not pregnant...3 tests confirmed that...so my body is rebelling in a way...........super concernced the plan is not for me!!
  • Quote: Are you drinking an HNS after you exercise? You should either drink an HNS or eat within 30 minutes of exercising so your body can refuel. I always opt for drinking an HNS since I usually don't feel like eating.
honestly I am not...I can barely afford the required 2 per day for my plan?!
  • Hello all! I remember what a valuable resource this board was! I'm attempting to start back! I lost almost 50 lbs a couple of years ago and life got in the way! In the meantime I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had my thyroid removed on 2/25/11. I know my levels aren't quite right yet but I need to get this weight back off!
Because of medical bills and a daughter heading off to school I'm attempting to do it on my own! If any of you are doing the same thing any helpful hints, favorite supplements etc... would be a wonderful resource!
Thanks for all of your help!

jmgirl-- Have you discussed this with your center at all?

First of all, the supplements are integral to the diet being successful. If you can't afford the HNS, your center may recommend that you go back to the preconditioning plan until you can. Otherwise, you aren't getting enough calories every day, and that will put your body into starvation mode and stall all weightloss.

Eating out on this program is truly difficult. My husband's aunt and a teacher-friend of mine were unable to complete the program because their routine included eating out (or picking up take-out) 5-10 times a week. I have a few "safe" restaurants that I stick with when I choose to eat out or when I'm traveling, but other than those restaurants, I REALLY struggle. If you don't eat out much and this was just a bad weekend, don't beat yourself up! You did the best you could under the circumstances. As my consultants usually say-- "it is what it is. What would you have eaten in this situation 6 or 12 months ago? Well then, you have made huge progress and should be proud of that, rather than focusing on what you may have done wrong in this situation." Because usually, 6 or 12 months ago, I would have had a complete bonanza in any of the situations I struggle with now. Focus on how much better you did this time than you would have done before you started MRC.

As far as this diet not being for everyone-- that's true. Some people simply don't have the time to plan their meals and focus on themselves, or they don't have the money for the supplements. Or even their work or family situations simply don't lend themselves to being able to follow the diet (family illness/work travel/moving/etc).

Truly, talk to your center. THis may be the diet for you, but not the right time. My sister put her weeks "on hold" and just went back to the preconditioning menu for a while due to some circumstances that made it virtually impossible to be successful on the diet (some of them financial). Once she's ready, she'll "restart" her weeks at the center and start the regular menu plan (with supplements) again.

Ultimately, this diet works, but you have to be in a position to make it work. Talk to your center and explain what's going on. They may be able to help you figure this out. Ultimately, you have to do whatever works best for you to be healthy!
