Hi..
Weighed in and am lost .1.. That is like a seed, but I will take it. I am officially on maintenance, and hopefully I can lose .9 more to make me 3 pounds under my goal.

I don't know if I mentioned this before but...

I was asked last week, what would I really like to eat.. I told them, I make my hubby oatbran muffins, very healthy, fat free, etc.. They said I could have one if they are small, but to always remember, have a HNS , like a creamy cocoa with it, or just an HNS. So, that is a protein with a carb.

Wishing everyone a great weigh in.

Patzi

I think every .whatever matters! So congrats on the "seed" loss. :-)

GoalBound 04-26-2011 11:03 AM

I don't know what to think.
When I am OP the weight comes off so very slow, but like this past week when my sister was here from Florida, I was completely off plan and ate very little, except at dinner and tried very hard to make the right choice, though I did "cheat" with some chocolate and at WI I lost 2 pounds! Why is it I only lose .5 to 1 lb on the plan and 2 when off????

I feel your pain - I also lose when I am off a bit or eat something I'm not supposed to. But I always pay for it towards the end of the week or the following week - by losing zero or gaining up to 1lb. So I technically would have lost more had I just stayed on plan. That's the way I feel this week .. like screw it .. whatever happens, happens.

skuba girl 04-26-2011 12:25 PM

Went to WI this am. Didnt lose anything but didnt gain either. I'm just getting started on the green menu. Bit frustrating but I know this too shall pass. Got through Easter without going off plan. I've been going in before work (I have a late shift) to WI and starting next week my WI's will be in the afternoon since my shift changes. May be a little traumatic to weigh at 3pm after I've eaten 2 meals vs 9am when I'm on empty. ugh.

Hang in there. This has happened so many times to me, as I am a very slow loser, but at the end of the challenge it comes off even at a slow rate..

Are you able to do a Saturday morning, weigh in? At least that would be one early one, if not one of my nursing buddies, changed shift and the first week there was a weight gain, but after that it evened out and she was losing, or if you can do Sat. maybe go once a week vs. 2 if this makes you feel more confident. Good luck to you.

You and I started within 2 days of each other. I'm kind of new here too but I love reading and learning about other people's experiences on MRC. Congrats on your weight loss!!

Welcome, niftybyfifty! Looks like you're off to a great start!

Lost only .2 pounds today. But I'll take it. It got me out of the 190s at least.

Patzi, keep hanging in there. If anyone can get this to work, it's you.

Last three weeks I have been doing my own thing. Eating MOSTLY on plan, but I reintroduced beer into my diet. I stayed the same for about 2 weeks and then started gaining.

I just added B6 and Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA supposedly helps keep you in ketosis) to my supplements over the weekend. Stayed on plan for the last few days, added in more workouts and decided to drink Mimosa's on easter sunday. Well, I lost 2 pounds between Friday and today. I'm glad to be losing again, but I'm going to have Mimosa's about once a week. Counselor told me to drink on Friday nights so I can get back into fat burning mode by Sunday, which I will start doing.

I haven't posted in a few, but have been reading your encouraging words. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LADIES!!

I have .2 pounds to lose to FINALLY make the 10 pound board. I been BSing, I could have lost a lot more by now.... I'm back on track!

Best,
Carmen

It's day 54 and I WI this morning. I was down 0.5 lbs which is just fine. I've lost 22.5 lbs so far. . . I was a bit disappointed until they did my measurements. In the last month I have lost 20 inches - for a total of 36.5 inches (5 of which were from my tummy - yeah!) I made her re-measure a couple areas because I just could not believe the results. I am on cloud 9 right now and totally motivated! You can do this, hang in there and stay OP. The scale does not tell the whole story!

Mariah

FINALLY I started feeling lots better yesterday. I could actually breathe through my nose for more than 30 secs without snorting or suddenly having it blocked again. I'm still coughing and blowing my nose a little, but nothing like I was before! Went to yoga last night, and plan to get back to my regular cardio workouts tomorrow. :) FINALLY!

Weighed in today and stayed the same again. I would be upset about that since I've been OP since last weigh in and started back on phentatrim yesterday... but I'm going to start my period tomorrow, so no weight change is totally normal right now. It just means I"ll have a decent drop (possibly below 200????) when I weigh in on Saturday.

I also talked to my consultant about EFAs today. I told her I've been taking about 5000mg of flaxseed oil per day since I've started (5 big ole pills, ugh), but starting in about December or January I noticed I was shedding a lot more hair than usual. It's in the drain of the shower (which is normal), then lots of strands come out every time I comb or run my hands through it. It's also starting to get kinda frizzy. And my scalp--I've had dandruff for the first time in years. She suggested that my body may have gotten used to the flax oil, or perhaps I simply needed to up my dosage. I decided I didn't want to take any more ginormous pills, so I decided to try the MRC krill oil. I'm hoping that'll make a difference--my hair isn't that thick to begin with, I really don't want to lose any more. :^:

Thanks scuba girl. Proud of you too!! :D THis is just the best place for motivation. When i am on a diet i get so excited about it, and most people just don't want to hear it. So I'm happy to find people who are as eager to share experiences as i am. Hope your next WI shows a big loss!!!

Mariah,
you are so right. Scaled does not tell the story.. One time Ihad stalled for 3 weeks, and they took my measurement and I was amazed at inches I lost.

I lost a total of 471/2 " and the consultant measured out a ribbon that was that lenghth, and it was hard to believe. I know what you mean when you say you are on cloud 9. You are doing so well, and so motivated.. Keep up the good work. Congrats on weight loss, also.

Razorbackbritt 04-26-2011 09:20 PM

Oh man...rough weigh in night.

I was up several pounds. Now, some is water weight from my period...but the other we didn't know why. And I lost it. On the poor new consultant. Crying so hard. She was suggesting lots of things...but I'm so done buying weeks, that I didn't want to hear any of it.

Then she calmed me down to problem solve and she suggested I do the whole month of the two phases of meta-protein. Then we noticed...I don't even have a month left of program! Cried again.

Then another consultant came in, and she talked with me and kept saying not to worry about the weeks, they will get me there. Well, I told her, I'm moving Mid-May and won't be at that center...so "getting me there" won't help. I needed something ASAP. A miracle or something. And she gave me more weeks! She wrote it in my folder and added it to the computer! So I have weeks until August 1! Weight lifted off my shoulders!

So they also decided to restart my system and put my on the yellow menu for 4 days, then the blue menu. I've never done these, as I started over 200 pounds and just started on the green menu. So we will hopefully be back to losing 2+ pounds a week and I can meet my goal in these new weeks.

I got myself a good attitude adjustment afterwards and am geared up to not let these gifted weeks go to waste by cheating. I'm in a good place now.

WOOHOO! Way to go on the inches!

Maybe I need the measurements done too, but I think its a little too early. All I know is that the scales do not seem to want to move. After losing fast the first 2 weeks its discouraging to just stop. I know its normal to plateau but still...:?: I want to go down some more! Anyway...hopefully next WI will show something...

Congrats to everyone who had a loss in pounds, inches, or both!

Yes I think you will be pleased to see the loss of inches when the scales aren't going down. :p Hang in there...you will be losing again before you know it.

Do you have the cookbook? are you getting bored with the food? I know I am, I'm going to buy the cookbook.

Also, are you taking any of the MRC supplements?

What are the yellow and blue menus?

GOOD LUCK!

After two weeks of eating almost every piece of candy in sight, I have made it home safely and emptied out the entire house. I went into the center after being in the hospital for 9 days. The scale was not in my favor. I GAINED ;( 3lbs. I'm blaming it on the candy and stress. Now I am back on the green menu. I will have to loose those 3 lbs again and then I will start stabilization one more time. I just don't seem to have the motivation this time. I'm not sure how to get back into the swing of things. How do I get that I can do anything attitude back?
Good luck everyone! This is a lifetime battle and I need to learn to take it one day at a time.

I've started reading Linda Spangle's 100 Days of Weight Loss - The secret to being successful on any diet plan. Along with her Life is Hard, Food is Easy book. I'm only on Day 1 of the 100 Day Challenge but she has a quote in there that I really like and have printed a little thing to put on my computer...

You've come this far in your 100 days
Don't stop now. If you're struggling to stick with it, push yourself to finish one more day. You'll immediately be another day closer to achieving your weight-loss goals.
Just do one more day!

Hope this helps.

I'm not tired of the food, per se. I use a variety of protiens, veggies and fruits...I'm just tired of the plan. I hate cooking different stuff for my hubby and not having it. I am tired of not getting what I want when I eat out. I have been doing this for 6 months, and I'm just tired of it. But I decided last night that those were selfish things. And really, I'm losing weight for myself, but also for others. I'm doing it so I can be more active with my husband and be around longer. I'm doing this for future children so I'm a healthy mom (someday). I'm doing this for my family so they don't have to watch me suffer with diabetes. So for those reasons, it is worth it.

The yellow menu is supposedly only for the start of program (but they are "restarting me") and its only for 4 days. Breakfast: 1 oz. cheese, 1/2 orange, bread or melba, and HNS. Lunch: 2 oz cheese or cottage cheese (I don't do cottage cheese) and 8 oz. raw salad and HNS. Dinner: chicken or turkey or tuna, 4 oz raw salad, 4 oz cooked veggies. And maybe a carb? Don't have the menu on me and can't remember. And 2 other HNS during the day.

Its very strict and lots of raw veggies...but its only for 4 days. Don't know what the blue menu is, I don't have it yet.

I'm so sorry you're going through this rough patch. Maybe the stress of trying to lose the weight is keeping you from losing the weight. Now that the burden of not having many weeks left has been lifted, your body may cooperate. You look amazing and have come so far. I know you'll be able to do it. :)

I know what it's like to have a child in the hospital for an extended period of time, so I totally feel for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

And if making it one day at a time seems to be too much, just try a meal at a time, or an hour at a time. You CAN do this.

Glad to hear you're back home and I hope the doctors were ablet o find some answers for you about your son. To get that attitude back start with telling yourself you can and tell yourself what you need to do to get back OP. Yes I mean look in the mirror and out loud tell yourself that you can do this! You have come too far to stop now! Past choices do not define you, they simply show you areas where you shine or areas where you still have some work to do.

What would have happened if you had been in this situation 1 year ago? Do you think it would have only been a 3 lb gain? If it had been me, I would have been eating constantly and since I was not at home I would have been eating junk which means it would have been a major gain. You are amazing, strong and inspiring and don't you dare let that little devil on you shoulder tell you anything else!

Those are all great reasons to keep going and you can finish this. I have never actually finished a weight loss program and reached my goal and I am bound and determined to fight to the end (no matter how long) just so I can say I finished this thing and met my goal! I can already feel the pride in that statement. You did the right thing by leting the consultants know what you were feeling and that you needed a change. Hang in there, you have already accomplished some amazing things - I can't believe you can even do Zumba let alone be a be a certified instructor. You can reach your goal and finish what you started, just hang in there.

I'm so sorry you're going through this rough patch. Maybe the stress of trying to lose the weight is keeping you from losing the weight. Now that the burden of not having many weeks left has been lifted, your body may cooperate. You look amazing and have come so far. I know you'll be able to do it. :)

You are so right - there is much stress related to losing weight and weighing in at the center - because we have to be held accountable for what we have and haven't lost.

The counselor last week said I just need to stop worrying about the scale and take some time for myself... 1/2 hour everyday or even 15 minutes, not worrying about everything in site, especially my weight. It's going to come off because I'm not a quitter, so I just need to stop stepping on the scale every 5 minutes.
