JenB72, I'm thrilled for you!

Razorbackbritt, I know you can do this. Inspire yourself the way you inspire your Zumba students!

momoffour, I didn't meet my goal the first time I did MRC so I'm determined to do it this time.

Dolly 04-27-2011 03:54 PM

candi,

That's a loooonnng ribbon you're holding in your pic. Too bad your yorkies are boys or they would have new ribbons for their furry heads.

:D It's actually long enough to wrap around their necks a couple times when they act up! J/K!!!! I have those 2 ribbons hanging on my office wall and I look at them everyday! But waiting another 30 days to get another ribbon is too long! But I will be patient!

You can ask them to measure you whenever you want! So if you want every 2 weeks, just ask! They will do it for you! (or at least they do at my center). Often if you are showing no loss and seem sad about it (like my breakdown last night!) they offer to measure to show you some non-scale related progress.

LisaK190 04-27-2011 05:41 PM

@Ravorbackbritt - My heart goes out to you, Britt. There have been so many times I have felt like having a melt down in the center. Switching you to the yellow menu may be exactly what you need to 'jump start' your weight loss. Keep yourself busy over the next four days and it will fly by.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a 2.5 lb loss at my WI today. Actually, I was shocked. I did nothing different this past week that I haven't done for the past two months. Oh well .. I will take it. I am so looking forward to vacation .. heading to St. Maarten Saturday morning. Although I know its not OP, but I do plan on having some tropical island drinks and cold beers. I will continue to eat lots of veggies and grilled fish. And work out!

So, which is worse ... mixed drinks or light beer?

Thanks for the support!

sooo jealous of your vacation! I think as far as drinks go, light beer is always better. Mixed drinks not only have heavy alcohol, but sweet fruity mixers. I remember when calorie counting, that a light beer or two was almost always in my calorie count allotment (if I ate well) but a mixed drink hardly ever was.

To get the mixed drink flavor from your beer, add some lime and drink it really cold. Gosh, even ask for ice if you like drinks on the rocks.

Have fun on your vacation!

Thanks Britt! I'm going to try to hold off for the 30 days but, like you said, if I feel like I need a boost for encouragement, I will ask to be measured.

When I weighed this AM I was down another .2 to 221.8...............I thought I was never gonna get below 222. I was stuck between 222 and 223for so many days. That makes a total of 12.3 lbs in 16 days. I lost 9.9 lbs the first week, but only 1.4 lbs the second week. So far this week I've only lost 1 lb but I don't WI until Monday. Hoping for a big loss by then. Drinking lots of water and I'm thinking maybe I didn't drink enough lately. Sorry for rambling ....Hope everyone stays OP and keeps losing.....

Hi...
Congrats on your loss and getting below 222. No need to aplogize for rambling, we love hearing about your weigh ins, etc. Wishing you a good weigh in on Monday.

pnvomaha 04-28-2011 12:17 AM

Weighed in today and lost another 1.5! :) So I'm down 42 lbs...221.5! Yay! I'm very close to the weight I was when I met my husband... I was in between 215-220. This was over 7 years ago! I'm going to have to pull out a few of my old dresses I've kept to see if I can fit again. It's so surreal!

struggling Nicole 04-28-2011 12:48 AM

I was completely on plan today. No cheats. Hubby took care of the kids and I got to go shopping! I need a new wardroble. I am starting my long-term sub job on Monday and I have nothing to wear. Before when I was subbing I could wear the same thing every time because it was a few days between jobs but now I am working everyday. It was a well needed break. I hope to find my inspiration again.
There were temptations everywhere but I avoided them. I can't believe how many places have easter candy and on clearance. Wanted to buy so much of it! I thought in my head about buying it and eating it before I got home. After a few seconds I RAN AWAY as quickly as I could without turning back!

patzi 04-28-2011 06:33 AM

I could not find the message to answer having a meltdown at center.

I have been thru this so many times. One time I was so upset and disappointed, I cried when I got in my car.Had tears at center. It was always change menu, do Meta Quick, do this do that, and sometimes it worked, other times Ihave found, the weight WILL come off, it really does.. Just have to be a bit more patient. I was on stabilization, having a problem and they put me back to the blue menu, I think it is,that is day 5-11, as I was having a problem I was OP, but did not lose weight, what reason, none. It just happened. But then a few weeks later I took off 2 pounds, and weight started to come down.
I feel for your frustration and disappointment, but I promise it will all turn out at the end. There is a nice end to this sometimes difficult journey. I would not have made it without this board, as I could vent here when I had to and had the support which was so needed.

Hang in there.

I took a chance, tried them on, and I'm officially back in my pre-pregnancy jeans!!!!! I've went from a size 16 to size 12 in 2 months. Love it!!!! Hopefully I won't be in this size very long. ;)

I didn't meet my goal the 1st time either, which I think is why I gained all the weight I lost back.
This time we all will meet our goals...do stabilization and maintenance...and Keep the weight off!:grouphug:

Jen...
My goodness, pat yourself on the bag from a 16 to 12 in 2 months, that is fantastic.. It is sooooo good getting into thinner type clothes.. I am very happy for you. You will be surprised how the sizes go down as you lose the weight.

Patzi

patzi 04-28-2011 08:57 AM

I did not meet my goal first time either. When there was a sale I bought more weeks and did it by the skin of my teeth second time around, but I made it, so just hang in there... The end pounds are the most difficult to take off, sometimes they need a push, but they will come off, maybe change your diet around, do Meta Quick here and there, go back to an earlier menu, whatever works. But, you will make, I know you will.

As for the candy.. You did GREAT! I'm one of those people that likes to taunt myself. So I purposely go down the candy isle and as I exit the candy isle, I feel so empowered. Guess I'm just weird like that. Kinda like going through Sonic now. I used to go through and order a Route 44 Diet Dr. Pepper. But now I order a Route 44 Ice water.

Keep up the great work! You look amazing!

AWESOME Jen so proud for you!!!!.....I can't wait to be in a size 12...I still have all my skinny clothes from way back in 1994 when I lost 70 pounds. I even have a pair of size 10 jeans. Hopefully some of them are not too out of style. ;) I don't care I'll probably wear them anyway....LOL. Most of the stuff I saved looks brand new. Unfortunately, I don't think I stayed a size 12 for too long. THis time will be different...I'll stabilize and do the maintenance. I am committed.

Lost another .4 lbs today..down to 221.4 Some more seeds as someone else on this thread calls the . somethings. It"s not much but every little bit helps...RIGHT??? If I keep this up I'll be out of the 220's in no time. Keep your fingers crossed and everyone have a wonderful OP day.

JenB72 04-28-2011 10:52 AM

Thanks for all the kind words. As it were, I have an entire closet of jeans that range from size 6 (hitting my goal last time with MRC) to size 18 (after my daughter was born). Guess I'm half way through the jeans. It's a great feeling.

Today is my wedding anniversary, so this is a great present to both me and my family. I'm taking control of my health once again and it feels great! :)

THANKS for the motivation Patzi. I sure need it. When those scales weren't moving in the right direction i was so tempted to cheat. But reading these posts have really helped me. :)

Razorbackbritt 04-28-2011 11:19 AM

Congrats on the jeans Jen!

Weighed in today...and am at 167 (was at 165 a couple weeks ago). The up and down is coming back down! Hoping to be back at 165 Tuesday so I can start making that scale go down for good! I got the blue menu (which I will do for 6 days) and its so similar to the green (except there is a fruit at breakfast). No big thing at all! Hoping that this menu switch up really gets me going again. I feel like its been so long since I had a good loss week. Ready for that.

Wow, lots of activity today. I wish I could congradulate each of you individualy, but today and tomorrow are crazy so congrats to the losers and to all who have managed to stay OP. Continue to flee from that dreaded Easter candy - right now is when it is hardest for me because it is all on sale, but it is not a good deal and will only create problems. To those in smaller sizes - you are amazing and that must feel so great! I have a few size 20s and 18s but after that I will be buying a new wardrobe and can't wait!

Have a great OP day everyone.

All time best...

I went to the gym today and walked my all time best on the treadmill.

1.7 miles in 35 minutes. :woohoo:

I was going to go for 1.75 or 1.8 but wanted to keep my time capped at 35 minutes because that gives me time to cool down and get back to the office, since I go at "lunch" time. And to reach that all time best, I maintained 3.0 speed for most of the walk and went up to 3.3 then 3.5! I've never been up that fast before. I had my little hand weights and was doing great with those on 3.0 but when I cranked it up, I had to hang on to the treadmill.

AND.. I just committed to running a 1/2 marathon with a friend of mine, sometime next year! So not only will I go ride all the roller coasters at Cedar Point (at least twice).. I will be training for a 1/2 marathon. I'm PUMPED! :dancer:

Great job on the treadmill. I had trained for a 1/2 marathon 2 years ago, but health issues prevented me from doing it, last year it was canceled due to road construction, but on October 15, 2011 I will complete our local 1/2 maraton (Lewis and Clark Marathon). I refuse to give up on this goal and it is nice to hear of someone else with a similar goal, most people I know think I am crazy. Who knows maybe I am. All I know is that somehow, some way I am going to cross that finsh line and finally cross this goal off my list.

Sitting here tonight contemplating what the scale will disclose tomorrow morning at WI. My bathroom scale seems possessed so I'm not sure where I am. So, to get inspiration I came here. I'm so tickled that I can come here and see others share the same thoughts, hurdles and thrills. I'll reign myself back before I get to sappy, but I love it that there is a place to discuss what I'm trying to acheive without some skinny ***** in the corner mumbling about all I need to do is push away from the table. We don't like her.. lol!! I know not a one of you but I love you all. Everyone here is amazing. Finding this forum is a gift. Thank you.

born2btxgrl 04-29-2011 10:14 AM

I went to WI yesterday and lost 1 lb. This is my third week losing 1 lb or less. My average finally went under 3lbs, so in my head I am officially frustrated. My counselor said to try Meta-Quick for the next three days and then return to my regular menu.

I'm just surprised how the past 10 weeks has flown by - I only have 7 weeks left of program and I am no where near my goal of 50lbs (or at least it feels this way). Technically I only have 23 more pounds to loose, but it just seems so far away!

This morning when I got out of the shower I noticed that my stomach was very, very small. Gross out here - I would normally have to flap it up in order to see below my waist - this morning I didn't. This made me curious!! I also pulled out some size 18 jeans (I was a size 24-26 when I started) .. and I was able to button them but it created a muffin top ... SO VERY CLOSE!!!

I wish patience would come easy on this journey, but it appears to be a true test of will and strength! I weigh in tomorrow again in order to get my 2 times in, but I doubt I will lose anything.
