On the bright side, what would in the past cause me to eat away my sorrows has not with either of these situations. In fact, I have had to force myself to eat.

Wow, that's tough, I went through the same thing with my old kitty a couple of years ago. I can't imagine having it happen twice! I'm dealing with a dog with cancer currently. It is never easy dealing with aging, whether its pets, parents, or our own bodies. Good for you that you are not stuffing your feelings with food. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
