Default Woo Hoo and a Question

Hi all! Well, I didn't get to go to Phoenix after all (DH's dad got sick and couldn't go ). But When I weighed in Monday I had come off my plateau adn was down 5 more pounds to 31! I didn't think I was going to lose any, so it was a nice surprise. Still haven't dropped a size though Soon, I think.

My question is this: Can I do a meal replacement bar for lunch? If so, do I just do the bar and an HNS (like at breakfast)? My daughter has a 4-H contest this weekend and I won't be able to have lunch for at least 8 hours, so thought I could do the bar instead.

Someone else correct me if I'm wrong but I think you'd hae the bar only (as it has plenty of protein without adding an HNS with it--or you could have a small salad with that. I'd save the other HNS to bridge the gap between eating.

You can have a bar for lunch, but it only replaces your protein and your fruit-- you have to eat your veggies with it! At breakfast it just replaces your protein and starch so you just have the supplement with it. I generally only have the bar for breakfast if I'm going to replace any meals because I find it pretty lame that I still have to eat vegetables with a chocolate bar haha.

Hope this helped!

The way the meal replacement bars are desiged to work are :

for breakfast, you would have a meal replacement bar and an HNS

for lunch, you would have a meal replacement bar, veggies, and an HNS

you still have to have the HNS with them, according to my center.

My center said. "that it is highly recommended that you have veggies with your mealbar" but you do not have to if you just can't. But just remember the mealbar isn't going to stay with you as long and you may be hungry sooner than usual. The veggies will fill you up. Pack some broc, cauliflower, and celery in a baggie and go. Definetly have your HNS with a mealbar.
Good luck! I know it is tough when away from home. My daughter goes to lots of cheer competitions and we are around a lot of unhealthy food choices.

My center said that I don't have to have the veggies with the meal replacement bar, but to still drink the HNS. If you do Meta-Quick you don't have the veggies at lunch. They did say that if I'm replacing dinner they'd rather me have a shake, so maybe have a meal replacement shake instead?

Thanks all! I will plan on taking 8 oz of cucumbers/tomatoes to eat with my "candy" bar! Haha. At least that will give me a way to eat on time. I still get to have an afternoon snack, so I will make sure to have some meat then.

My daughter will be judging her first horse show and giving reasons on her placings. She's 8, so she's a little nervous, but she's learning so much!

my center says the same thing, and in addition, meal replacements are not allowed at dinner.
