Default Transition from Stabilization to Maintenance

I wasn't expecting it to happen today, but they officially moved me to Maintenance today. I'm only in week 5 of stabilization... what's up with that? My counselor told me that week 6 was the same as week 5 and that she felt I was ready. Is this true (week 5 same as 6?)? I thought there would be a difference. I hope I'm not missing out on something. I should be happy but I've got that fear of the unknown thing going on. Calorie counting shouldn't be too hard. I think I can do it... yeah.. I know I can. Anyone else experience something like this?

What was your transition like? How did it go? What did you do to be successful? Questions, questions....

thanks!
Carla B.

I understand Carla. I was on vacation during week 5 so I repeated it when I got home (still didn't feel like I followed it very well) and then week 6 was exactly the same - the page just recapped all the additions.

When I started maintenance, I started tracking # of servings of the different food groups and how many of each I ate in a day. The hardest thing I found was getting enough protein - HNSs are just protein but everything else has carbs and fat with the protein. I probably had too few veggies for a month or so but I was missing them so a couple weeks ago, I made a conscious decision to cut out the treats I had gotten too liberal with over Christmas (especially chocolate and deserts) and increased the salads and veggie servings. I had put 3 or 4 pounds on and was able to get back down to 139 yesterday. I

'm feeling more confident each day that I can live like this the rest of my life. Congratulations on this new phase of your journey! jeanette

Thanks Jeanette! That sure does make me feel better about the transition. I'm feeling confident that I can maintain, and it seems like the center is 100% behind me too. They're going to keep me in line. To me, it's just a weird, wonderful feeling... like moving out and being on your own for the first time, responsible for yourself and your actions; and being afraid that you're going to screw it all up. But, I guess that's how we learn and grow(in our minds, not our waistlines - hopefully!) Thanks again.. and congrats to you too!!

You're a few weeks ahead of me...I'm on week 4 of stabilization. So how is it going? Any pointers? Easier/harder than stabilization?
