To be honest, everyone says to go back and get it soon, so you can have a measure of your TRUE success---- the first week or so worth of weight that comes off is only water weight anyway (it can be significant, but water weight none-the-less)
It really ISNT your true weightloss.
The reason is that any weight you lose the first week or so (cuz its water) will immediately come back as soon as you stop eating at a deficit. Your "true" starting weight is your 1 week later weight, or day 10 weight. Anything AFTER that is truly fatloss....
On the other hand, it IS exciting to see the "big" number loss the first week or two.
But i cant re-iterate enough, that it WILL COME BACK. It will come back if you have a cheat weekend (thats where you hear about people who gain back 5-7 pounds of the weight they lost over one weekend of eating off plan-- it was just the initial water weight they lost coming back). and it will come back when you reach maintenance and start eating at your maintenance level.
