Thank you so much for the welcome!!!! Your only as old as you feel lol
  • Alrighty, so on tonight's menu I cooked the Chinese Chicken Salad on p. 66. I thought is was pretty good. I wasn't exactly sure how to shred cabbage (remember, I'm not that great of a cook) so I just googled it and voila! The dressing did not specify the measured amounts. I took a guess and it came out a little dry at first. I added 2 T. of Balsamic vinager and a couple shakes of garlic, onion, and ginger root powder. This salad was easy to prepare. I cooked the chicken breast, however using frozen chicken strips would be a great time saver. Bon Appetite!

Side tip: someone suggested adding a splenda pkt and cinnamon to the green tea & cranberry HNS hot drink....Two Thumbs Way Up! It tasted like hot apple cider, hmmmmmgood!

Tough day today! Yesterday was so incredibly successful and then today, I was wanting Chocolate!! I think it had mostly to do with the "girly-thing," ( sorry about TMI) - anybody use anything that helps with cravings during that time of the month? I must admit, the cravings are nothing like they use to be BP (before program). I really don't want to buy more product, so if you have any other tricks...please share.
  • I think I found the chocolate craving cure for the girly blues. Cookbook p. 206 - Chocolate smoothy = 3 stars (*-ok, **-good, ***-don't pass this one up)!
1 pkg double chocolate pudding supplement
    4 oz. water
    4 oz. low-fat cottage cheese
    2 pkg. artificial sweetener
    10 ice cubes

stir and then magic bullet mixture. Just what the Dr. ordered!!
  • Wow...it's been so long!

You're sure motivating...I'm hoping to get back on the wagon...and "joining in" with all of you!! Two more days until this 'ol teacher gets her holiday break...and then I'll be back!! Keep your "motivating comments" coming...xoCarrie
  • Legal Mayonnaise
For those of you concern about eating raw eggs in the MRC Mayo, here is an alternative Mayo recipe my center gave to us and it is pretty good, thick and creamy and last over a week in the fridge in an air tight Tupperware. I add 2 packages of splenda with fiber when I am seeking the taste of Miracle Whip.

1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese
    2 Tbsp canola oil
1 Tbsp white vinegar (I add apple cider vinegar)
    1/2 tsp dry mustard
    1/2 tsp paprika
    3-4 tsp lemon juice

combine in blender until smooth, can store in refrigerator for up to two weeks.
It taste so much better after a day when all the flavors blend...I play with the quantities of ingredients more of this and little of that to get the best flavor...great for making mock egg or chicken salad....

Thank you GWE...I am going to give this a shot. Plus it is less oil than the original recipe...I like that.

Has anyone tried any of the puddings or the creamies such as the Cream of chicken or Chicken Bouillion from DietDirect? I have never purchased the puddings from MRC, because I heard they changed them and now they are horrible. I was just curious if anyone has tried these and what they thought before I purchase them. thanks....
  • Green Tea and Cranberry HNS
I just tried the green tea and cranberry HNS and it is great. Thanks to whomever on this board recommended drinking it hot and adding cinnamon and Splenda. It does taste like apple cider. I think I will be drinking a lot of this during the winter!
  • Quote: Good Evening my friends. Just came back from weighing in and my cooking class. First, I'm so close to signing that 40 pound board now, that I can almost taste it..(pun intended). Yummy!!!!

Ok, I think I told you a couple of weeks ago that I called to see what the special they were running for current members, and was told $79 for 17 weeks and $99 for 24 weeks and it ran through the beginning of the year. So, silly me, thinking since my contract was up last week, I would go ahead and sign up for the 24 weeks....well....I was given a different story and was told the special was $79 for 10 weeks and $99 for 17 weeks and $129 for 24 weeks.....so I must say, I'm a bit confused, plus it ends Dec. 25th. So I told her I would give it another week to think about it before I decide what to do...I really hate putting another $100 into this plan, but I really have no choice since I am far from goal, and I want to continue losing. I just don't like the mix messages I was given at my center!!!!! I think I will call in a couple of days and ask again and see what I am told. Just frustrated....plus now I have brought to their attention that my contract is up....which I doubt anyone would have noticed without me volunteering it. Shucks...to say it "kindly"!!!

Anyway, the cooking class was good. We sampled some "Breadless Pudding" and some Egg Nog that was so good. Makes you think you are not being cheated out of some of the Holiday goodies. If anyone wants the recipes, I can scan them and email them to you.

Thanks for letting me vent...I did have a 2.5 pound loss, so that cheered me up. But still......I don't like being told different things about their specials.
FL- Way to go on the 2.5 lb loss. You will get to sign that 40 lb board in no time. My center has been doing the special of $79 for 10 weeks and $99 for 17, they never had the other offer your center told you about first.

Quote: I just started mrc today!!! I hope my weight comes off as quick as most of yours has ...
Welcome 2young2bfat. Glad you joined us!

Thanks for this recipe. I'm a Miracle Whip person and I've been playing around with the mayo recipe but it wasn't cutting it.
  • Quote: My neighbor brought a plate of cookies over last night! I thanked her whole heartedly when she left and handed them to my husband and ordered he and my step son to "take care of them". I assume they'll be demolished before I get home tonight. Or at least should be hidden somewhere. lol.
Good plan! I've had to do the same! I love the "take care of them" piece!

Ha. Yeah, it's just better if they're out of sight, out of mind. I have this vendor at work who's wife bakes a ton of yummy breads at this time of year and they give them out as gifts to their clients. He brought me the famous bag of them today with lemon poppyseed loaf and an apple/carrot loaf, as well as some Hershey's kisses. I thanked him profusely and when he left, I gave them to my co-worker to take home to her family. Yay me. Dontcha just love this time of year? Temptations galore. So far, so good. I just drank my creamy hot cocoa and called it good.

BTW, the cheese sauce recipe in the cookbook is quite runny! I made it into broccoli cheese soup instead of using the cheese to top my broccoli! It was kind of funny.
  • Hello everyone! I have a question. Has anyone ever tried corti-trim? The center sold me this last night and I was wondering if anyone has tried this and if it worked at all. Just curious. Thanks!

I am using corti-trim, however I am only on day 5 of the program so I am not sure I am a good one to ask, would love to hear what others say. I have been very satisfied with my weight loss so far, hoping this is helping. I have also heard of others taking Relacore instead of Corti-trim, would love to know what people think of that product or what the comparisions are. I know Relacore is cheaper.
  • Cortitrim
I've only been on the program for just over two weeks, and I am using the cortitrim. I can see a noticeable difference in the size of my stomach area, which is my problem area (apple shape). From what I've read, the clean eating promoted in this diet reduces belly fat, so I have no idea if it's attributable to the diet, the cortitrim, or both. Would like to hear the thoughts of others, also.
  • I didn't buy any of the suppliments Maybe that's why my weight has been slow to come off, but without it, I have lost in the belly area also. I had heard that you lose double in inches if you take it than if not. So I don't know. I will keep on avoiding them for now and hopefully I made the right decision. Cost was something I considered when I joined MRC, plus I didn't want to depend on taking pills to help me keep the weight off. I guess I was just concerned what would happen when I stopped taking them. But that is just my own opinion and I really can't shed much light on the benefits of taking them.

Sounds delicious, but just not delicious enough! You've got those priorities straight young lady!!! I'm so proud of you.

Hmmm, you know what? I haven't made the cheese sauce recipe but let me check into that. It sounds really good regardless but I bet someone can refine it for us if need be! I think broccoli cheese soup sounds darn good though! I may need to make that know!
