  • just stopping in to say hi and that i am enjoying keeping up with everyone's successes! i'm thinking i'm just going to have to put my plan on hold for a while and pick it back up when things settle down. but you know what? i'm totally OK with that. things are just too hectic right now to worry about having HNSes on hand or remembering to take my vitamins or whatever.

things are still pretty gloomy over here with my FIL but he wiggled his toes on command tonight, which is AMAZING. hopefully he'll be up soon...
  • Sorry to hear that Leah, but you know we'll all be here for you! Please check in from time to time and let us know how things are going...
  • Congrats!
Quote: WOOHOO!!! That is truly a great way to start the weekend. I will keep my fingers crossed that you have broken this little curse so many of us seem to have struggled with in September. We will see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully I can make it at least in to the 170's or maybe even enough to sign the 50 lb board. Maybe I should go for an extra long walk tonight.

    Great job Karen!
Thanks for starting the thread and sharing your story. Everyone's stories help give perspective and hope. I read a lot about plateaus and am curious how long yours lasted....I'm past preconditioning and lost 2 pounds...(which I honestly thought would be more as it seemed a big change to me---but 2 pounds is great start, I know) and on day 3 of yellow diet....so a long ways to go.....feels reassuring to have an idea of what may or may not happen as I go through this....just to mentally prepare.

Leah, I'm sorry to hear that you're taking a hiatus, however, I certainly understand your reasons. Did you let the folks at the clinic know this so they can mark it on your chart?

Please keep in touch when you can and know that you're all in my thoughts!

  • Yea, GWE!! Way to go!! I bet signing that 50 lb board was AMAZING! Go YOU!

I weighed in yesterday and was down 1.5 more lbs! I'm almost into the "next decade" (aka: 170's). It's such a great feeling. I can't believe I've lost 13.5 lbs in a month. This program is crazy! I am also down 18 inches (which has let me go down a dress size from a 16 to a 14). My committment is to work out every day that I'm off this week (so, Sun/Mon/Tues). I need to work out more, I'm just nervous about it messing with my wt loss. I know this is better for me in the long run, though.

Congrats to everyone for making healthy choices (even non food related ones)!!
  • Hi Everyone, my numbers are slow but steady. I had started MRC on 7/11/09 and you can see my results so far. It kind of gets discouraging week after week with such slow results.

PorchMom84, even though you can't create a ticker yet, you can update the Start/Current/Goal that appears under your name in the left column. Click on User CP at left end of Blue bar above. Then click on Update Profile. Go down to Additional Information and change the last number to your current weight. (they are out of order to the way they appear when posted). Incidentally, changing anything in your profile will change it in every post you have made. That confused me for a long time when I was just reading through threads as it did not correlate to what people were saying in that particular post!

Good job a having a weight loss! I don't think I have ever had a 2 lb loss - maybe once - usually 1 or 1.5 lbs. Slow and steady with plateaus about every 10 lbs. Just keep on keeping on! jeanette

Yes, Jerzgerl, it is really getting beautiful now. Enjoy walking, that increase in exercise may help the weight loss. I'll miss seeing you at the Connection Classes but we'll see each other occassionally. jeanette

    Hey porchmom,
Plateaus vary for each person and can certainly be frustrating but ultimately it is a good sign and usually result in a big loss afterwards. I've had platueas in the past that lasted a week and one that lasted 2 1/2 weeks, there seems to be no real rhyme or reason. I've been struggling for several weeks now with very slow to no losses and then suddenly went up 1.5 lbs last Tuesday for no apparent reason (I had been really good) which was really disappointing but my counselor reminded me it was a sign of a plateau, to hang in there, drink more water, max out my HNS and keep going. I did just that and dropped 3.5 lbs by Friday and another .5 on Saturday. I would love my losses to be a predictable steady 2-3 lbs a week but that's just not how this plan works for some of us it seems. Just remember that it will pass, stick with the plan, drink your H20 and have your HNS. Don't start skipping these thinking less calories will break the plateau, that's not the case, I've tried it and it never works. Instead I increased to 4 HNS b/c I've noticed this does help. You're doing good so keep it up!

It's the avatar my husband used for me when we had four people sharing the same computer. He changed the black hair to red. It's supposed to be a Christmas necklace with lights on it. Yup, I'm pretty weird. Thanks, jeanette
