Hello everyone!

I am going to re-introduce myself here. I'm Sam...I was on MRC from March 2007-December 2007 and lost 90lbs! I was on a roll. Then, I got pregnant. Very exciting and actually was why I started losing weight anyway. Well, my little boy turned 1 in September (my pic is him) and I decided it was time to get the weight back off again. I gained all of what i lost back, but thats my fault. I didn't care what I ate and fell easily back into old habits, knowing full well that I shouldn't.

Anyway, past is past. I'm on pre-conditioning and ready to jump in. Honestly, I was already eating as if on pre-conditioning and wanted to skip right into the program, but they said no. Oh well.

Most of you won't remember me, but thats alright, I'm ready to meet all of you and support you as you support me.

~Sam

I think I remember reading some of your posts from earlier! I read through several years when I first started. Looking for inspiration and advice. Welcome back! Your baby is so cute.

Thank You Rip! I should say that is my husband :0) He looked just like Patrick Swayze when we were dating... oh so dreamy!! With a great personality, sweet disposition, Tom Selleck dimples on both cheeks and chin and very funny... any surprise I fell madly in love?

Does he have a single brother? You both look so right together. Like two pieces of a puzzle, meant to be together.

i also brought up my contract--it's due to expire on 11/23, and i know i'll be nowhere near goal by then, and i'm concerned about the extra expense but she told me there's probably no reason for me to be concerned and that she didn't think anyone will say anything. which is awesome, but i have a feeling i'll end up having the re-sign anyway. oh well, totally worth it.

Write it big enough to see here in Colorado!

FL,
I think that if you need to come knock on his door, I should not warn him! We should get matching 3 fat chicks tee shirts and storm the house! It did feel good to get that off my chest. I think I really didn't expect him to change, just wanted to be heard, validated and understood.
Ordered new scrubs, medium. Can't wait until they come in, these are so loose, they droop when I fill my pockets up! The other nurses are teasing me that my pants will fall on the floor one of these neights. :D

Has anyone done Medi Quick longer than the 7 days? I REALLY love having teh bars/shakes and am wondering/thinking about doing it for another few days and see what happens. Would you ladies PLEASE tell me your honest opinion about this? I would appreciate it. Of course I would do it and not tell the center..I know :( Just wondering if anyone out there has done this and you may have experienced.

Lynn, I can't see how extending on MQ could be any different from Slimfast bars/shakes. As long as you're getting all of your essential nutrients (which you probably do through your vitamins & various supplements) and getting enough water, which I think you said you were getting about 200 oz so you should be ok, in my opinion.

Way to go! I'm so proud of you! :carrot:

I dropped the ball this weekend. Not that I actually ate BADLY, but that I had a few beers and didn't drink enough water. I skipped WI on Saturday as I felt it would be bad news (Me? Ostrich? Huh?) Weekends are difficult for me to stay OP anyway, plus I had company this weekend, so that really threw a wrench in the works. Oh well, back at it tomorrow!

Mediquick

Interesting topic .... MediQuick works for some people, not for others. I've used it many times, because it's easy for my schedule, but I never lose the amount of weight that I do when I'm actually eating. I am very carb sensitive, and the added carbs in the shakes takes me out of ketosis and slows everything down. Some people lose while they're doing it, but then have a plateau once they're off of it, others don't lose while doing it, but then drop a few pounds the next week. So, it just really varies from person to person -- the only way to find out what it does for you is to try it.

One of the reasons I think they discourage using it very much is that it doesn't teach you to eat well and make "peace" with food. But for me, like I said, it helps out when my schedule is impossibly busy and I don't have time to think about or prepare any food.

Sam .... welcome back!! Your baby is beautiful. I'm still here struggling. I gained back a lot of what I lost, and am slowly, but surely working at it once again.

You know you brought up a very interesting point that I hadn't really thought about. that's very true that people do do slimfast shakes/bars longer than a week and that's their program. Hrm.

Thank you for your input and you're right, I've read on here that some have good/bad experiences with MQ. I guess I had a good experience, although yesterday I had a terrible day again and don't know why. I was up 3 pounds this morning but am back on again today. I am NOT going to let this become a pattern but am concerned because my 30th is in 2 weeks and know that I'll have a bad weekend with going out to eat and desserts. But we shall see. I'm going to try MQ for a few days this week and just see how my body responds. I'll be sure and post here as to what I experience. Thanks again for sharing your input. I appreciate it.

Hey, Lori!! Isn't it fun getting new scrubs?!??! I sooo need some. I bought one pair--the medium top fits great and the medium bottoms are great EXCEPT for being just a little snug across the booty! So, I'm going to wait a week before I wear them. All my coworkers laugh at me, too, b/c my pants are barely hanging on---I have to wear the ones with the ties (which I have to keep redoing throughout the day). Any suggestions on brands of scrubs?? I'd love any recommendations!

Oh, and I can't wait to be in the 160's! I'm so close....when I saw that you were there I freaked out! Yea!! Good for you

I started MQ today! Our center is having an MQ challenge. I'm not sure about extending it longer than 7 days. It does make sense that it wouldn't be too bad b/c of the example comparing the Slim Fast plan, etc. But I think it's so limited calorically that it would just be best to get back on the regular plan (which your body can respond really well to when you change up the routine). Good luck! Let me know how MQ worked for you!

I am back on the green menu today...just couldn't take another day of a sweet breakfast and sweet lunch...I missed my eggs and cheese! Will go back on MQ as planned for Thanksgiving week. Trying desperately to get to attend stabilization meeting at the end of next month...

TeresaG 10-26-2009 12:53 PM

Wow! It looks like everyone was here over the weekend.

Noahsmama, you rocked on the mq this week. Keep us posted if you do it longer.

Lori, hang in there. You have had rocky spots before but you pulled through and you will this time too. Too funny about the scrubs. I can picture being at a hospital and seeing that happen to someone. They say laughter is the best medicine, so see what extra care you would be giving your patients? :o

Genell, great idea for Thanksgiving. I've been trying to figure out how to handle that. I would like to think I would make better choices than in previous years, but also don't want to feel like I'm totally depriving myself. The good thing is we are going to someone elses house, so I won't have leftovers!

Karen, love the picture. I too loved Patrick Swayze and I do believe the resemblance is still there in your hubby. You both look so happy!

Congrats to everyone who had losses, made good choices, etc.

Leahruthie, you are really doing well. Hope things have improved with your fil.

I started mq this morning. I hope it works even half as well for me as it did for noahsmama. I got the dc powder and the vege powder as they recommended. I was told that if the vege powder was mixed with the grape concentrate, you can't taste it. I'll let you know after lunch how it tasted. Had the chocolate this morning just mixed in water. Had to just down it. I am going to check and see if there is a certain time of day you should use each. Will definitely mix it with something else from here out.

Hvnlymzic 10-26-2009 01:42 PM

Deb - a familiar face. :) I gained all of my weight back. Sure, I could say it was because I was pregnant and blah blah, but no, thats just a really good excuse. Done with that. I ate alot and I gained alot. The end.

I told my parents that I went back on MRC yesterday (sounds like I'm confessing a sin doesn't it :) ). They were very supportive and understanding last time and they will be this time as well. Of course they will be, it worked so well for me, that they're proud of me for going back.

This pre-conditioning week has been hard for me. I was frustrated that they wouldn't put me straight onto my menu plan, so I had alot of angst about this week. Ugh. How counter-productive, right? So, new week, new leaf. Don't care. I'll start my menu this week and I'm ready for it. Can't wait to get my drinks and other supplements and get this show on the road.

Hope you ladies had a good weekend.

vege powder

So I mixed the vege powder with a grape hns, and it wasn't so good. I was also told that someone mixes it with hot water and it tastes like a mint tea. I'll try that tomorrow. If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know. I'm only using it because of the mq this week.

Daizy, how long did you do MQ? I've done 5 days thus far and have 2 left. Just curious, as you probably already know they say you can do it 7 days out of a month.

I was on for 4 days then ate lunch on day 5 then back on day 6 and 7. I am very frusterated that I didn't loose more. I started back in the gym this weekend so hopefully it will help. UGH@!

I like Cheerokee they have one with extra booty room. I am high waisted and these don't hit at the muffin top inducing spot! Look for the ones that look like the crotch is low with the elastic waist. I can only wear one color except for holidays. I am trying to find something cute since I am working the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas night. Wonder if I can find leopard print? :D
The frustrating part of the weight is that I am hovering on that 169. Tons better then when I started but I seem to be gaining and losing the same pound for the past 3 weeks. So the motivation is slipping. But when I step on the scale and see the next loss, I am hoping for a renewal of inspiration!
 accepted and returned
