Default Potential Newbie with questions!

Ok. I considering calling MRC for a consult..but wanted to get some info first for a few reasons. A) I don't like wasting my time...I'm sure you can all relate! and B) I tend to be "convinced" in personal quite easily..if I go, I'll sign even if I can't afford it or know it's not for me.

So, question #1. How much approximately is it? I know Jenny Craig comes out roughly to $16-20/day and I know the Zone is like $40! Yikes...I can't afford that kind of thing!

Question #2. I like my beer...simple as that. Will they say I have to quit completely to do this program? I know if I stopped drinking beer I'd probably lose anyways..heh...but it's my only vice, I enjoy the taste and I enjoy having a beer after work. I don't mind cutting back, but if that's not "good enough" I'll probably not want to do this.

Question #3. How much exercise we talking here? I know I need to start doing something but with Asthma and a pure hatred for gyms...is this doable?

I don't mean to sound so skeptical...It's not the program it's me. I just want to know what I'm getting into before I regret my savings account being at a zero balance and have nothing to show for it! Thanks everyone for your help!

Well I can tell you that my total fee was $399, which includes 24 weeks on the program, 6 weeks of stabilization and a year of maintenance, which I was told was a total of something like 82 weeks. The HNS (or the High Nutrient SUpplements) are required for the program, and dependin on which menu you're put on, you have to have any where from 2-5 per day. My plan is 2-5 and I usually do about 3-4. The boxes are $12 and they run specials like 5/$55 or I usually buy the 10/$90 (which saves you $3/box!). The only pills that you're required to take are a multi-vitamin (I'm still taking my pre-natal from after I quit nursing my son) and a Flax Seed Oil. YOu can get that just about anywhere from what I've read from people on here. The center also has pills for just about everything and they can get expensive. I'm taking All Day Weight Loss (thermogenic and appetite suppressant, 8 pills a day, $75/month), Corti-trim (targets fat around the tummy, 6 pills a day I think it's $75/month), MSM (helps with elasticity as you lose and joints, 6 pills a day, don't remember how much this is), MRC-6 (my center called it lyposuction in a bottle, 6 pills a day). I end up taking 10 pills at each meal and I don't know how much longer I'll be able to afford/be able to take them. Tonight I just couldn't stomach taking anything but the flax seed.

Basically your beverage choices are water (minimum 64 oz/day), decaf tea/coffee w/no creamer, etc. only splenda, etc., and soda (like diet rite), between 16-32 ox. a day. No alcohol from what I know.

They require exercise of 3 times a week for 30 minutes.

Any other questions, feel free to ask!

I'm new here, and if i could - I had done something very similar to MRC when I realized I don't like being told what i can't - - for me, I'm sticking to what worked for me last time i paid attention - and that's a weightwatchers style - i like that with WW there are no 'mistakes' just 're-balancing of your points' so if you have an 'off day' you're not actually off and you can just keep going. for me that became important becasue as soon as i made a mistake i was giving up completely - but with ww i never made mistakes, it's impossible to eat something wrong. anywho..thought i'd share. good luck

Thanks both of you! I'm going to start saving for the MRC just in case I can't do this on my own...but will need to be ready to totally give up my beer. I'm a NASCAR fan and am not sure how to watch dudes turn left without a beer! LOL.

Thanks for the WW advice. My sister went on that and said it didn't work...but I have a feeling maybe she didn't really TRY that hard. My work offers a discount on WW if we sign up at certain times. Maybe I'll utilize my sister's online WW (which is still active) and check it out...then sign up through work and get the one on one support. Thanks you both! I need to do something and get serious about it soon...but like kvack, as soon as you tell me I CAN'T heh...watch out! :-)
