Default Starting again

I started the MRC diet with good results by losing 62 lbs. in 3 months. I got down to 308 lbs. and had some problems with the lack of bowel movement. I spoke with my doctor about it and he took me off the diet and put me on a high fiber (carb explosion) 2000 calorie diet for the last month (I gained 12 lbs. back). Everything has returned to normal now and I want to return to my diet and lose another 100 lbs. I AM HAVING MORE THAN A HARD TIME GETTING STARTED AGAIN. I am weak and stupid, please help me.

I am starting again also. My first on plan day with the shakes will be tomorrow! Do you plan on exercising?

Flubber, you may be weak but you're not stupid. If you were stupid, you wouldn't be concerned with your weight and you wouldn't be making an attempt to better yourself. I would say that just about everyone on this site is weak to some extent, or they wouldn't be needing to diet. I lost 30 lbs on MRC and gained every lb back. I'm back on the diet, day 3. I would discuss the constipation problem with your center. They should be able to help. You were successful with the diet before. You CAN do it again. Good luck!!

You get shakes? Wow ! I can't even say shake. I had a dream last night that I couldn't fit into an airline seat, I think that got my head straight. I woke up today with a new sense of purpose.

I spoke with the center about it and they wanted me to take more of the fatty acid pills. That didn't work. Actually, I think my center is more geared on selling stuff than really helping. The plan works but I feel that its more about marketing than help. The lady got short with me when I was losing weight fast. It was like I was screwing her day up.

By "shakes" I was talking about the HNS--protein drinks.....Just take it one day at a time and we both will loose the weight.

Flubber,

I kind of agree about the center. I have ready so many posts where the members are close to their counselors and couldn't have done the program without them. But when I go in, they are usually very busy and I feel kind of rushed through the whole process. Don't get me wrong, they are all very nice, but I have just never felt that connection.

I do feel like they were happy for me, though, when I was losing, so I am sorry that you felt like they were upset - maybe they were concerned for your health because that was such a fast weight loss?

I have trouble with the constipation too, and none of the supplements or fiber drinks help. I am at such a loss because in a normal world, anyone drinking as much water and eating as many vegetables are we do, would not be able to leave the bathroom! I just end up taking magnesium every few weeks, and yes, my weight does go up, but I know it is only temporary. A few extra pounds seem preferable to the alternative.

Overall, I wouldn't trade my experience with MRC for anything! I have lost 40 pounds, started moving again, and look and feel so much better! It is not an easy program, but very much worth the results. So, hang in there and give it your best shot - I am sure that you will be posting a hundred-pound weight loss before we know it!

Flubber and Sherry ann
I take a magnesium tablet 2x a day and that seems to help keep the system running! I ran out and was off for almost 2 weeks and wow did i notice a difference.
Good luck!

lv2ski,

Does the magnesium not make you gain? I drink a product named "Calm" and it is just basically powdered magnesium that I add hot water too, but everytime I drink it, I always gain a couple of pounds! Maybe the pills are different?

You can do it. Take it one day at a time and if that is too overwhelming, take it one hour at a time! Don't give up!

I had an issue with the constipation and after buying the fiber drinks and not really seeing anything change I went and purchased benefiber that is soluble in water I just add it to my HNS's and everything moves as normal as can be. I have also quit purchasing the daily vitamins & flax oil from the center and get them at the local wal-mart or walgreens. I have also felt your "been there, done that" feeling about getting back on MRC, just remember, it was there for you before and you can do it again. You are a smart lady be realizing it is good for you to lose the weight, I am pretty sure when you get down to it you can get hold and start losing again! Good luck & huggers!!!
