Red face I don't get it

I weigh in twice a week and I also have a scale at home that I weigh myself w/ at least once a week. My scale at home is off by 1 1/2 pounds, cause I weighed myself w/ and w/out my 5 pound weight. The scale at the center has me at weighing 5 pounds more than the scale at home. Is that normal? I post my weight that the center has me at which is 176, and my scale at home has me at weighing 170. I am not giving up by any means, cause I want to feel good when I go to Disney this year!!!!!

it is very frustrating. i did not have the will power to not step on my friend's scale while i was at her house last night. her scale weighed me 7 lbs heavier than mine would have. ugh!
i really don't care what my weight is at this point, i just know for a fact that i have lost 18 lbs regardless of the number any given scales weighs me.

All kinds of things can affect your weight when you go to weigh in - the clothes you're wearing, what you've eaten for the day, how much water have you had (and flushed away), have you pooped (sorry, but it does make a difference!). I go by my scale at home - first thing in the morning, no clothes on. I try to keep my weigh-in time at MRC consistent, between breakfast & lunch. But still, what I'm wearing will make a difference. Don't worry about the number on the scale, as long as it's fairly consistent as to how many lbs you've lost and your clothes are feeling looser. I usually don't even ask what the number on their scale is, they just tell me how many lbs I've lost unless it's Tanita time & then I get that printout. We tend to get too scale-focused because of the weigh-ins, but the scale isn't our best measure of our overall progress.

I have a MAJOR problem with driving myself scale crazy. My scale is a coupe of pounds off from MRC, too. I am trying to break my habit of weighing myself every morning, because I put too much 'weight' so to speak on what that number is...and it can make or break my whole day. I have literally had mornings where I stood in the shower bawling my head off because I hadn't lost anything in a couple days only to have a 3 pound loss the next morning. It's too much of an emotional roller coaster, so I'm weaning myself off all scales other than Tanita. My center told me to put my scale on a shelf in the garage. I'm not quite ready to do that yet, but if I can even cut down to only weighing myself 2 times a week at home that would be good progress for me.

i weigh every day here at home. i knew i wldn't show a loss today when i went in *i didn't * because my scales haven't budged since thursday but while my scales at home are showing i've stayed the same the scales at the center showed a 2 lb gain. i half expected that cuz i screwed up my weigh in time last week too. *shrug* on my weigh in days i get up, weigh, get dressed minus shoes and weigh again so i know what the difference in my clothes is already. that helps me not feel so bad about seeing one number at home and seeing another number on their scales. i've also come straight home from the center, changed NOTHING and got right back on the scales and mine are accurate within about a half lb. all scales are different though. if you can figure the difference and take that into consideration everytime you weigh, then it shouldn't be such an issue...

Changes in barometric pressure can cause scales to be off too.

Just thought I'd share that.
