Default MRC & Infertility

I have yet to decide if I am going to start the MRC program. I have been dealing with infertility for about 5 years. I was thin, then the longer we took medications and dealt with the stress of infertility, I gained quite a bit of weight. Is anyone here dealing with infertility? What have your doctors said?

First of all, I am sorry you are going through that, I know it isn't easy and I'm not sure that it ever will be.
I haven't dealt with infertility in the same way you have. Ours is male factor, however, I know when I signed up to do MRC, the counselor made the comment (not knowing that it was my husband, not me, that was infertile) that many many people have started the program and lost some weight and became pregnant.

Not sure if that answers your question, but I thought I'd add my 2 cents

Default Thank you

Thank you, and I'm so sorry that you're dealing with the pain of infertility as well. It certainly is a rough road that nobody understands unless they have actually walked down that path.

I appreciate your comment!

We had trouble conceiving DS (5 years ago) because of my irregular/non-ovulatory cycles. While I haven't truly started TTC again, I can tell you that just after losing about 20 lbs (I have much more to go, honestly), my cycles are like clock-work, which leads me to believe that I may actually be ovulating normally now. This is due of course to the decreased weight/fat cells/ whatever - which you will find true with any other weight loss plan out there. Metabolic has worked for me, though, so of course I'm a little biased about that.

As far as the herbs and such, for the most part I haven't learned of any that will directly affect your fertility. If you do get pg while doing Metabolic, of course you'd want to discontinue the herbs, but I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't take them even if you're concerned with fertility issues.

I hope you find the answers you're looking for! Good Luck!

I haven't had my period since starting MRC. However, it just happened to coincide with my going off birth control, which is probably the real issue. I've never been regular before, but I've been on this for 3 months now, so something's up.
