Red face Headaches??

Hello Everyone,
I am new to this site and to Medifast. I have been over weight for a while now and finally decided to put some true heart felt effort in this. I Started the Medifast program on Friday so today is day 5, I noticed that I am getting headaches towards the end of the day. Has anyone else dealt with this problem? I saw a Medifast review where someone else complained about headaches and said it's full of MSG,scary ...but I don't want to quit, just hate needing Advil each day around 4-5 pm...Any advice?

I don't think that any of the MF products have MSG in them. MSG isn't listed in the ingredients at all. You can find all of the ingredients and allergy information on the Medifast website.

I also had headaches to begin with, but it was because of the controlled carb intake, not anything to do directly with the ingredients in the food. Once you go into ketosis, the headaches should go away. That varies between people. They say anywhere between 3 days and a week.

If you have headaches after a week, you may want to go to the doctor.

I don't recall experiencing headaches when I started. I also haven't seen any MSG in the products. However, they do have a lot of soy, so could you be reacting to that?

Have you happened to cut back on coffee or any sort of caffeine since you started? Are you getting enough water?

I hope the problem goes away quickly for you. I'd hate daily headaches as well.

Default Thanks,...

I am hanging in there since I posted about the headaches they seem to be fading, but yes I am drinking a ton of water and still do a daily morning cup of tea. Tomorrow it will be a full week, I am excited to get on the scale because I am actually proud of myself for sticking to this...wish me luck!

You might want to have a MF bar when you feel a headache coming on. It really helped me my first few weeks. It could be from dropping carbs. Wishing you the best of luck on your journey.

I didn't have headaches but I didn't give up caffeine, did you? Are you getting all of your food in? I bought a scale after the first week and found that I was eating only about half of the lean that I could. I didn't drink all of the water but I did try to drink some, could that be the problem? Or are you waiting too many hours between meals? I would have my last MF later in the day, that might help you.
