Hey everyone. I read this forum everyday but never seem to post anything! time to get involved.
I printed out the 145 page recipe download from the MyMedifast.com site. A lot of those recipes look good. I like the discussion of using WW core program for transition. Not like I will be there anytime soon. I am going on a cruise in a month and I plan to eat low carb but I am not taking shakes with me. Anyone have any advice? I am in week three and not feeling like I have lost that much, 10 lbs the last time I checked. My scale goes up and down all of the time! I am just so afraid that if I go off for a second it will all come back on! Have a great weekend. Flo-I would love to hear more about where you are from in France. I love France. |
HOPE: CONGRATS on the 8 pounds... You go girl!!! U need to post a ticker to keep your progress at view and keep everyone motivated ;)
Brooke and Vbevens: I am French. I am from Lyon the second biggest city of France. I have been in America for about 7 years now: (5 years in MI, 2 years in NM and for the last 7 months in TX). I go home every year now that i have my child so that she gets to know her extended family... Otherwise, it is just mommy (Kind of boring...lol)! I am glad you like Europe! I miss my family and the food of course, but all in all i prefer living in the US! Vbevens:I have also been on the program for 3 weeks now and I lost close to 12 pounds... I am happy with my resukts because i feel like i lost tons of inches on my belly and back fat...;) I guess i did not get the amazing 10lbs + loss of the first week, but i think i have put my body on so many diets, it is not as responsive... But this program is so easy, that i do not worry about if i am gonna be thin... I know I WILL be thin, now it is just a matter of When... which i find pretty exciting! The other avantage of us not losing that fast is that it is easier on our skin... maybe less sagging for us ;) |
Welcome, Heather!
Brooke: I do use a scale for my Lean unless I've gotten a salad somewhere. That way I know what I'm getting. Great going, Hope! :) Vbevens: I have a pretty good digital scale and it doesn't seem to fluctuate a great deal unless the battery needs changing. Of course, I weigh myself at roughly the same time every day. 10 pounds is quite a bit. Go look at two 5 pound bags of flour or sugar. Better yet, look at 10 pounds of shortening. That's what's missing from you... :) |
I have a ticker, they (3FC) decided to not allow anyone with less than 30 posts to have a signature.....
|
So, I'm working on my 30 posts...
|
I'm still working on those thirty posts, only 2 more to go!!
|
ACK!! I read that wrong!!!
"In an effort to help curb a recent probem with forum spam, new members will not be able to use the Signature option right away. This could take up to 30 days to appear in your UserCP." Ughhhhh |

Brooke, Get a scale!! The palm measuring way does NOT work! You'll be amazed how much 6 ounces of chicken is.
Hope - Jeez chickie - 8 pounds??? Wowwww!!! LOL love your last few posts! That's something I would do! Someone was upset about "only" losing 10 pounds. Ahhhhh....you impatient girl! Losing more slowly (if you call 10 pounds in 3 weeks slow) is good because your skin will sag less. Now I would like very much to lose like sweetP, our resident FAST loser, but I guess my body will release the weight when it's good and ready. I'll be happy with 3 pounds a week. We'll see. Flo, What's going on with the BF? Hello everyone! Well I finally got the cold. At least I don't have to dread it anymore. Yeah, I have that. I'm working on getting all my meals in and that's it. My husband told me it was my night to cook and I cried. Yup. Then he cooked. I have no pride and I don't care. Okay, that cottage cheese thingee looked way nasty, but I gotta try it when I feel better. One of my favorite easy dinners is spinach, cottage cheese, and chicken nuked for 4 minutes. The amount of cottage cheese and chicken depends on my mood. It's deceptively good! I hope this post makes sense.... I'm going back to bed, Michelle |
Poor Michelle! What ever works! I can see you on the couch in misery.
I got stuck out shopping with my daughter and didn't take any food. So, no water in today and only 3 MF and it's after 7 pm. I walked in and DH asked me to walk the dog. I did not cry but I said I had to eat! Now!! I just bought a scale, threw it together and tossed chicken on it. You are right! I have been eating about 1/2 of the lean allowed. I took 5 ounces of chicken breast that I had cooked and ready, 1 T of low fat cottage cheese and 1/2 T of low spaghetti sauce and heated it. It's good but right now, anything would be good. I just made a new thing, remember I am no cook. I took a pickle spear and wrapped it in thin sliced turkey. Yum!! I am going to slam water and go to bed. I hope my no water didn't screw up the big weigh in tomorrow! Also, I called MF. You can xchange the free week food but not the hot drinks that were on sale. |
My Sunday Weigh In
I thought for sure today I was going to be in Onederland but to no avail. I lost 2 pounds last week. Maybe next week. I've noticed a pattern in my weight loss. From Monday to Wednesday I seem to lose weight, then from Thursday to Saturday, I actually gain a pound to a pound and a half back, then by Sunday morning I am losing again. I am not cheating or doing anything differently from the beginning so I figure it just be the way my body works. As long as I am on a decline every Sunday, I could careless what my scale says during the week but I find it a bit weird. Anyone else notice such a strange fluctuation?
Ok you caught me, I still weigh in everyday!:goodscale I find it encouraging though, not in the least discouraging. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. Jen |
Oh where or oh where did my signature go??? It was there when I preview my post but now it is gone. Any ideas?
Jen |
Jen -
Mine disappeared until I had enough posts to be a member. I sent an email to the 3FCs but I didn't get a response. If you look at Hope's posts above, that's what it says...about 30 days. I still weigh every day, too. It would be bad, except you do see the pattern. I'm losing a pound or so every 2-3 days. My husband told me that if you weigh every day what you're actually looking for is the overall downward trend if you were to graph it. Why...yes he *is* a Math person. ;) |

To bad about the sig and the wait. If you just had to post x amount of times that would be easy.
Anyone try any syrups they love??? We disliked all of the little Capella drops. Found SF Vanilla and raspberry Torani and they are good. I am looking for SF Peppermint, that would be good in all of the chocolate stuff. I weight everyday too and it does fluctuate. Today is my first official weigh in and I am down 5.5 lbs! How does your time of the month effect your weight? Today is day 2 so would I be heavier or lighter on day 2? It would be cool if I can expect a bigger loss in a few days because of it. I had sugar free gum in my mouth, took it out and 5 mins later my daughter handed me a stick of gum, said I needed it. That is not cool! :( So I bought a mouth spray. Maybe I should wear a sign, "Dieting in progress, stay back 10 feet" Happy MFing Sunday everyone! |
Once again congratulations to everyone on the great weight loss. Today is officially the start of week two for me. I am down 5.5pounds.
It is interesting all the talk of WW. I had never really given that much thought. I too did WW in the past and did well but I need the instant gratification of quick weight loss. I still have all of my literature so I guess I will be joining you all at some point. Hope2b... great control I know work is the hardest for me everyone eats so much junk here. I am on Medifast with three other co-workers. Little by little as other people find out I am doing it the snide comments start. Why is it that people just can't be genuinely happy for you? Whatever I will make them really talk when I loose all of this weight. |
Wow!!! TJJS, you and I weigh the same and started on the same date! Isn't that cool. We can really compare notes. I have to ask, did you eat everything you were supposed to? I didn't by accident so I think my calories dipped too low and that might not be good.
Good luck in week 2! PS I lowered my goal to 155 but it was and in my head is really 175, that would be great! Edited... I just read part of your blog. My daughter is getting married in one year and my daughter's best friend in July. My daughter has to fit into a size 16 J Crew bridesmaid dress and she is a size 20!!! So, we started MF together. We have a lot in common! The common thread is FEAR of weddings and dresses lol |

brooke... I have only had 5 mf meals once maybe twice. Not because I am trying not to but I am a nurse and sometimes I get busy at work and can't get a "meal" in or in time. For some reason I am really struggling with the water. This never used to be an issue for me I don't know what is going on. I am just making sure that I get atleast 64oz in a day but I read somewhere that you should have half your weight in ounces a day so I am way off.
As far as the wedding goes I wasn't this crazy about losing weight for my own wedding so I don't know what is making me so crazy about this one... lol. Good luck to you and your daughter with your weight loss and hopefully we can motivate each other. I need all of the help I can get....lol. |
so funny Brooke!

Confessions
Hi You'll!
I am sad to confess that today i fell off the wagon and cheated! I had a Taco Salad from Taco Bueno (w. sour cream and gacamole)! I even ate the greesy taco ball :( Then later on the afternoon i had 3 chocolate cookies! I am SO ASHAMED of myself!!! I did not want to tell you'll but i need accountability for my stupidity... The worst part is that i feel like crap and i feel like i am gonna throw up!!! Not quite sure what i should now... Should i eat some more MF meals or not eat at all... Any clues? Well I am guilty :(. I won't cheat again though... I am back now, ready to lose some more :^: Thank you all for your support :hug:It means so much to me...:D Michelle: As far as the BF goes, well i got his key back and helped him pack all his things yesterday. He cried... and said that he would work on his issues so that we could be a family again... I am not sure that i really want that but at the same time I am scared of being lonely...:dizzy: I know God will provide me with the right man for me, but I am scared that i will miss him and just assume he is one of these players that i seem to keep running into... lol Ladies, you all are pretty much my only support system so THANK YOU so much! Your posts and progress is what keeps me going with my weight loss and keep me motivated! |
I have only had 5 mf meals once maybe twice.
I've done the same, but only because sometimes I have a hard time actually eating everything plus a LandG. There are days where I just don't have the time for my LandG also. Drinking all the water really seems to be a struggle for me though. Some days I just can't do it. |
Hey ladies!
Here's to the start of a brand new week! I am still just taking this one day at a time, one meal at a time. Flo:  Who can't relate to this? I certainly can! One of my favorite quotes is "It's not failure...it's feedback". So ya got some feedback. You can get right back on track! To everybody who lost weight this week: :bravo: |

Oh poor Flo! Youv'e have a tough weekend. You did the best you could do and it's sunday night and you survived! Don't worry about the tbell, you just forget it and start where you left off. Here's a hug (((flo)))
Suesully, I love the hearts and pink!! :val2: Tjjs, i never drink all of the water, I get a cup in each MF meal and maybe drink 3 more cups a day, that's it. I can't do more than that, I don't fret over it. What is the down side of not having it?? If I knew maybe I'd worry more. :p I bought peppermint extract in the grocery store and put a few drops in my vanilla shake, it was decent. The box didn't list any calories or carbs, hoping it's okay. Happy new MF ing week everyone! |

If you ate at 3 PM, then didn't eat for the balance of the day because of the extra calories, you'd probably find it extremely difficult to go without. After eating extra carbs, you could find yourself feeling more hungry than you're use to on the MF plan. Better to prevent that extra hunger by sticking to a regularly scheduled MF meal than to feel even worse when hunger hits. We got some cookies from a vendor last week and the guys were talking about how great they were, and I couldn't resist trying one. They were right. It was a great cookie, and I only had one, so I figured it couldn't be so bad, but I was wrong. I felt like I was starving all night long. I hope I never make that mistake again. http://www.3fatchicks.net/img/bar-re...2/150/206/.png |
Hugs, Hugs, and more Hugs, Flo!
It's okay, honey. It's just one day. There'll be another one tomorrow and you can start over. I do think God did us all a great favor in giving us a fresh start every day. You were probably upset and stressed, too, over the BF situation. That didn't help, I'm sure. I have found that the more upset I get, the more likely I am to eat. It helps if I can really gnaw on a piece of gum. Have a great week! |
Thank you all for the support and the kind words!!! You re right, tomorrow will be a new day and i will get back on track :D No more cheating! It is so not worth it! I hope that one day did not kick me out of the Onederland!!! I will let you know tomorrow!
|
Flo- YOu have been under a lot of stress lately. You can't beat yourself up about your little food vacation. Just remember that tomorrow is a new day.
I had a tough weekend. Hubby invited all his poker buddies over, they ordered pizza, served chips & dips, etc. I didn't touch any of it last night. This morning I saw the chips and stuck one in my mouth and sucked on it and then spit it out. How gross is that??? Tonight as I was preparing dinner for the family I got a little sad thinking that for about a year, all I'm going to eat is MF and L&G. Then I thought, I can't do this, I can't. I want to be fat, I want to eat yummy gross fattening foods. And then the rational side of me said, HECK NO, I want to wear a bathing suit, I want to be thin, I want to be HEALTHY. And then the other part of me (hey, I'm fat, I have lots of parts) said, you can't do this, you're going to fail. So, I ate my chicken breast, my cucumber and lettuce salad with balsamic viniagarete. I was so full, I felt like I couldn't eat another bite. And with a smile on my face, I said, I can do this! :) |
Good story! Thanks for sharing!
Congrats on all the weight loss for this week ;) |
Flo, c'est domage! :( I can so relate (can't we all?). The weekends seem to be doubly hard. This coming weekend we are having a huge Superbowl party with all of those snacks! :cheer2:
I plan to make those MF chicken wings and plenty of celery. http://mfboards.mymedifast.com/showt...ghlight=quirky Here is the link to that recipe book. It is posted by Quirky, I believe someone who is on the original boards. It is a great resource. I took the time to print it out, three hole punch it and now I have a nice cookbook. It is in Word, so if you don't have Word you can't open it. If people want I will save as a PDF and post it. I am on my other computer at the moment and can't open it either as I don't have Word on this computer. Flo, I LOVE Lyon. :carrot: I was there this past summer. Can't go for awhile, the cost of the Euro or the decline of the dollar is making go other places. |
Had to post again so I could update my weight.
Down 2 more! That makes 12 in 3 weeks:) |
Vbevens: Funny I was in Lyon at the same period! Congrats on the 12 poubds loss. that's funny, you , Andrea and I started at about the same time and we all have lost between 12-13 pounds in 3 weeks :)
My cheating incident costed me a +1.6 pound this morning... Oh well, i deserve it! |
oshvay, we posted at the same time, I missed your info. Thanks for the great advice on the flavors! I am going to go to the website you left!!
Have you tried the sugar free walden salad dressings?? They look really low! |
The walden farms salad dressing are delicious! I love the blue cheese kind and the creamy bacon
|
Hey... I have a ticker!!! Wooohooo
Just checking in with my chickies and a quick funny to share. I had to attend a dreaded staff meeting after school today. I took along a MF Chocolate Bar, however I took it out of the wrapper before I got there. So I'm munching along and this other teacher from across the room shouts, HEY Gugs...whatcha eating? I was sitting in the corner of the room trying to be real low key. I said, "Oh, it's just a low cal, diet bar." She smiled and said, "Man I wish I had one." I'm sooo not ready to share with my coworkers that I'm on MF. I think they are going to realize that something's up soon. The pants I wore today normally fit a little snug in the hips and thigh. Today I had to wear a belt and they felt really roomy. :) |
Flo-we usually go to France for the Tour de France. It is always a highlight of our summer. :bike2:
I thought this thread was going to be a weekly post? I made the biscuits this morning. A little spongy, but otherwise good. I am hosting a "tasting" at my house this week, it will be interesting to see what my area leader brings to the table so to speak. Flo-have you started exercise yet? Since we are on the same time frame I was wondering. I plan to start this week with a walking DVD I have. Well have a great day everyone! |
