After a good day, I test around the trace/low level, and as evidenced by my loss of a dress size, this seems to be quite sufficient. And as long as I eat according to plan, I'll still be in this range whether I test or not. But I have a slightly different angle. Being diabetic, I'm told it's a good idea to test ketones occasionally.

Im new to the low carb thing and went on this program that requires you to get blood work done and my doctor had wanted me to get a urinalysis too. but i had to fast for 12 hours before the bloodwork and within less than 48 hours i was already in ketosis. I didnt know that was the goal of low carb at the time and he called me freaking out about me "spilling ketones all over the place" scared i searched the net and found more info than talked to a nutritionist about it and found out it is normal to happen within 48 hours of a diet consisting of 20g carbs or less
