Default Water, water, water

I though that since we are monitoring other things we might want to post our daily water intake. There are alot of newbies trying to "get things right" , and "pros" who are a great sourse of inspiration to us. So....

My goal is to do 12 glasses(8oz) on Monday= 96 oz.
Will check back tommorrow

Default Number one slacker signing in!

Does any one remember the rule of thumb for the amount of water you are suppose to drink based on your weight?

Thanks!

Default The Rule for Water

Drink half your weight in ounces.

e.g. if you weigh 250, you need 125 ounces. If you weigh 80 pounds, drink 40 ounces and never come to this board again!

Default NO FREAKIN' WAY

am I going to drink 17 - 8 oz glasses of water a day!!! I've managed to up my intake to about 64 oz but that's all me and my bladder can handle. As it is, I'm up several times a night to make a pit stop. I just don't think that's reasonable or sensible. I don't know how you other Chicks can do it.

I would like to say that I have been trying my own personal chalenge to drink more water and put down the soft drinks! I admit I'm a slave to them and I am trying sooooo hard to stop. I found that is I drink more water in the morning and more water at night, my metabolism moves better--don't know why yet!

Question How did I miss this thread before???

I generally drink about (10) 16 oz of water a day. It's spread out around my decaf and occasional diet soda. Today I did (12) glasses....can you tell that I always have something to drink close at hand?

think I'll go get a big glass right now! thanks for starting this!

I do 2 32 ox bottles at work, and then as much extra in Crystal Light (I drink it very diluted) at home as possible. I don't count morning coffee in my total volume.

I aim for 100 oz per day.

Hello.

My name is Joanne and I usually post on the Low Car Support #??. (Hi, MommaJ!) But I posted there earlier today and no one's posted since so I thought I take MommaJ's suggestion to check out other forums.

I've recently started upping my water again (was up to about a gallon a day). But then I got in this coffee/tea/decaf/Crystal Light/diet soda phase for the last three weeks (since we moved to a new facility at work). All of a sudden I'm getting body aches, headaches (severe), and really nasty PMS. I couldn't figure out why. Then, as I sat at my desk downing yet another cup of coffee with Nutrasweet (Aha!) in it, it occurred to me. The reason I'd given up that darn substance was for the exact reasons that were plauging me now! I stopped drinking that stuff as of noon today. No more diet soday. No sweeteners in my drinks. It's either unsweetened completely or water. I know from past experience that I'll be feeling MUCH better in about two days (takes that long for the body to expel the toxin completely). If you drink a lot of products with Nutrasweet (a.k.a., aspartame) and are experiencing the same problems, I suggest you try going cold turkey for about 2 to 3 days and see if you feel better.

My favorite tip for getting down the water: ICE and lemon or lime juice (just a squirt). It really makes it more palatable. I also find that the squirt of citrus juice without any sweetener seems to increase my craving for more water. Works for me!

See you around!

Default Joanne!

we're both posting at the same time. i posted , then came back and saw your post about the lemon juice!

That is a great reminder, I have forgotten to use that"trick!"

I generally like water, and don't have problems but it's better with even the slightest hint of citrus, like a skinny slice or lemon or orange in the glass. And it looks pretty, too!

So, thanks!
