Default Changed my mind . . .

Hi!

I changed my mind on the roast chicken with alfredo sauce. Went with chicken breasts marinated for about 2 hours in Teriaki sauce and then baked in the sauce. Side of asparagus. (Water, too.)

Default Oops!

Sorry, Folks.

Meant to do the previous message as a reply on the Wednesday menu thread not a new thread.

Anyone know how to close this thing?

Sorry for the confusion.

No problem, Joanne... everyone's done it...

The roast chicken sounded good! Have you ever tried the Five Brothers sauce in a jar- Alfredo, 3 cheese, something like that...I use it for veggies, especially when I want to reheat leftovers, like broccoli or green beans at lunchtime.

as I said to Kirei

Do you deliver?

Default Don't give in to him.

Hi, MamaJ.

Don't you give in to your DH! Chips & salsa are one of my favorite snacks, too. A friend suggested using celery sticks in place of the chips. (Ugh! Just not the same at all!) I do like putting a little (emphasis on little) bit of salsa on my chicken or beef patties. Add a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of fresh, chopped chives or scallions and you have one very tasty, low-carb dish!

Just a thought! See 'ya around!

Default Sorry, Ladies. Take-out only!

Hi, again.

Sorry, Ladies. No delivery service is provided -- strictly take-out!

Yes, I've tried the 3 brothers alfredo sauces and the Ragu ones also (although I think the Ragu ones are a bit "slimy" in texture). My favorite is the 3 Brothers' Mushroom Alfredo Sauce. Yumm!!! It's 3 grams of carbs for 1/4 cup but 1/4 cup goes a long way. Best part is no one in house eats it but me so I know it's always in the fridge waiting for me to dress up a bland meal.

Of course, it's the bland meals that make me come up with seasoning and sauce ideas. If my DH had his way, we'd eat steak, chicken, spaghetti & meatballs, and pork chops plain all the time. I just can't stomache it. I have to have flavor! I'm a very sensory impact type person. You will never find a bland item on my plate (unless it's a plate at someone else's home where I have no control).

Guess I got that trait from my mom. We were raised on a trucker's salary (one who kept getting layed-off every 2-3 years ). My folks did their best but sometimes things like chicken, eggs, and peanut butter where all they could afford for protein sources for weeks at a time. You'd be amazed what you can prepare with these items (no, not all together) when you get sick of eating them plain. To this day Mom is constantly checking the grocery store for new spices or herbs to use in her cooking. More so in the last 3 years since my dad was diagnosed with type II diabetes.

Gotta go. Want to see if anyone's posted on The Wagon before I turn in for the night.
