Default Another Newbie

Greetings, all!

I'm also new to this forum, but not new to low-carbing. After struggling with my weight for most of my adulthood, I got pretty healthy using Zone eating methods after the birth of my second child several years ago. I’ve had trouble sticking to those good habits, though, and the weight crept back slowly until this past year, when it seems to have packed on with a vengeance!

I’m a (soon to be) 38-year-old divorced mother of two (boy 12; girl 5) who is working outside the home full time. The kids will be traveling with their dad for the last two weeks of August -- I’ve been looking forward to that time to get back and track with food, sleep, exercise, and just general organization. (Lofty goals, I know!)

I’ve seen other forums that focus on low-carb eating, but they are strictly Zone-oriented. I liked this one because it seems more collective and less … um … “dogmatic.” Just lots of good support without the admonitions to count every last gram you put in your mouth! Plus it’s just chicks!

So, Hello …and looking forward to posting with all of you.

Hi Barb! We are glad you found us!
Good for you taking the time that your children are away to do some work towards feeling better!
You are a busy gal!

Yep! There are a lot of different low carb programs out there and you need to find what works for you. I think many of us here do different plans and we are all respectful of that. Plus...we have a really good time!

Please post often so that we can get to know you better!

Thumbs down A big Houston Howdy

and welcome!

Good for you to remember to take schedule some you time! It's so easy to forget ourselves when we're full time employees/chief cooks and bottle washers, so to speak!

Yes, this site is pretty terrific! The great chicks and occasional roosters are great sources of info, support and friendship.

Looking forward to getting to know you!
