Angry Sometimes not gaining is good!

Hi chicks!

About 3 weeks ago I signed up on a slimfast forum because it would track my weight. I had forgotten about the fit day site so I thought this was pretty good. Anyway, long story short I have not lost and this was the note they sent me:

Dear Peach pit (not my real name)
Thank you for taking the time to weigh in recently! While it might not seem like a big deal, knowing and recording your weight on a routine basis is one of the most important behaviors in successful weight management. Give yourself a pat on the back.

The first step of successful weight loss is to stop gaining weight. Congratulations on this acheivement! You have attained this goal! Remember the skills required to maintain your weight are just as important as the skills required to lose weight. Take this opportunity to review how you have been eating and your level of physical activity since your last weigh-in-- this is the essential combination for weight loss. Your accomplishment is significant given that most are gaining weight!

(I thought that was kind of neat!)
A side note: I did go back to fit day and tried to register as peach pit. It seemed as tho the name had been taken which I thought was kind of odd. I know there are a lot of variations on "peach" out there...but the pit? Anyway....it turns out that I had registered there in January and since then I have lost 6 pounds. That may not seem like alot but gosh darn it I seem to struggle so and I was pretty pleased!

Thanks for letting me carry on chicks. I know that some of us really find this battle of weight loss tough and perhaps we need to once in a while pat ourselves on the back for NOT GAINING!

Thanks, Peachie. Good advice and excellent timing.

Good post peachie!!

We need the reminder that not gaining is good.

Way to go on the 6 pounds, that's 6 pounds you don't have to lose or re-lose.

Thanks for reminding me Peachie! I sometimes get down on myself that I haven't seen the scale move but I forget how far I have come and that it won't come back!

Glad you chicks liked this!

don't get me wrong...losing would be a whole lot better but sometimes I forget that maintaining my original 40 pound loss from doing Atkins almost 2 years ago is pretty too! Of course, before I strain my arm from patting myself on the back I better remind myself that I still have a long way to go!

We just keep on plugging and chugging!
