Exercise the dreaded "E"
I was wondering if any one here wants to start an exercise thread? I saw Kel had done the dreaded "E" yesterday and a few others are doing the "E" too. do you want to start a weekly "E" thread?
|
I already exercise daily--chasing my two year old all over the place! I included that in my daily activities on fitday and how long I did it for and would you believe that I spend over 2400 calories a day??? My problem is night bingeing and that evens out all the energy I just spent. Sure, would love to have more ideas than just chasing my daughter!
|
Aw Sue, that darn "E" word again!
Did you notice that I mentioned bringing up the old threads of "What's in your fridge", "Snack ideas" and "Breakfast Ideas", but please notice that I didn't mention that darn "E" word thread! :dizzy:
Okay, okay, do we have a daily accountability here? I did do lots of typing and bending from the dryer and walked the driveway to check the mail, and, and, and.......:?: |
Hey moving and wigiling that counts. It is batter than nothing!:D
I did stairmaster for 20 minutes today. and what a sweat almost more than the day before I did not get so exhausted so I must try harder next time. I did 68 floors where the last time I did 70. friday is my upper body workout. |
Every night before I go to bed I vow I will start walking the next day and somehow the next day passes without me doing more than walking around the supermarket. However, I do run to the bathroom a lot and if it's approximately 40 feet from the kitchen to the bathroom (I never use the one in the hall as it's to be kept nice for guests, LOL) and if I make a dozen trips a day, does that count for a short jog?
Also, I'm back to my morning swim three times a week and I do try to kick up the pace for about 20 minutes of the hour. I may even get brave enough to take part in the hydrofit class again but this time I won't try to keep up with the fanatic leader but will do it at my own speed. I thought I was going to die I truly did. Vewy, vewy scawy! But I really, really, want to start a walking program. I think that's the only way I'll get this blubber to melt off me. Somebody come and give me a kick in the caboose, okay? |
KICK!!!! how is that? I will be glad to come over and do that in person if it will help. Hey the swit is a great start. it is movement and that is what counts. I am over doing it I know but if I do not then i will slow down and then stop. I want to keep it up while I can.
I have to say that I over did it today. I ran for about 1 mile (jog 2 min then walk for 1) that is the extent of running this body can do now. then I went to the gym for my upper body workout but I got jabbering :^: and ran out of time wo aI hit the rowing machine for 7 min. and then tonight my girlfriend talked me into rollerbladiing to a friends house 1.5 miles and then back 2 hours later. I kept begging for a ride how but nobody would do it:lol: |
Did my upper body workout today. no huge problems or workouts. but it is done for the day.
|
Sue, I think it is a great idea. Starting next week I will join you on the thread. Until that time my exercise will have to be closing our house. I am a nordic tracker. I usually try and log in 30 minutes a day and that results in about 2 miles. Anyone else out there tracking???
|
had to bring this up sorry guys. did BFL workout and boy did I push what an effoer. I also did 5 min on the reowe and 10 on the stairmaster. tomorow is my runung day I hope it is not to hot!
|
I am working on my abdominals as they are saggy due to childbirth--hope to get them up and off my bladder!
|
Pooky that is great. I too am sagging greatly in that area!!!
I am soo excited I hired a personal trainer for 35 a week. he will kick my butt and tell me how to get to the equipment and do it right so I can get the results that I want. I am so excited. he tole me that I will be able to get my flabby abs back in shape but that will be the last thing besides my boobs to tighten up! I did the stairmaster for 20 today I did longer intervals than before. I was very encouraged by that!!! I did only 68 flights not my personal best but the second best!!!! Tomorow I am going to have my belly dancing class in the evening, and swimteam in the afternoon. I need to do Upper body BFL workout I am not sure how to squeeze it in with all and working early. it will be close to impossible. I may be able to get some of it done in the gym then the rest at the office. but I hate to work up a sweat there It is too hot as it is! |
Well I did not have much time in the last few days to post. I went to the gym wed night I had my last belly dancing lesson till Sept. then they will teach the course for real! I am excited. I would love that.
I had my first day wtih Ozzy. what a slave driver. I did max on everything. I did olpitical for 30 and burned 300+ cal I did backwards for a while and it felt the burn in the buns. I could not walk after my 1.5 hour ride in the car, ugh. I am better now and did not hit anything today As I know the muscles need time to repair them selves. |
I did the oliptical trainer today for 30 min managed to hit 329.9 cal burned in the time frame. not bad will hit 340 next time!!!
|
Today I used the foot pump to inflate my double size air mattress. It was quite a workout. :D
|
Linda I've used them before they are!!!!:D :D
|
Me again I did the oliptical trainer for 30 min today hit 375 cals. I get to have ozzy in the morning so I better get to bed!!! he will really work me out!!
|
I'm back in !!
Okay, I slacked off but I'm back!
I spent five hours Monday digging up shurbs and moving them around the yard, planting, scrubbing the gazebo and furniture. Surely that counts for something! :p This morning is Richard Simmons work out tape. DH and I are trying to coordinate time and start the gym again. Hopefully at least twice this week. I've got to do this. Pushing shovels and bending yesterday just about killed me! Sure is a reminder of how out of shape I really am! :^: J |
MammaJ
you are doing great. What a accomplishment moving all those shrubs afound and the digging can sure use muscles that have not been seen in yeasr, especially mine!!! I did 20 min at about 3 mph on the tread mill went 1.3 mi, then did upper body workout, then for the finnale Ozzy made me do the oliptical for 15 min I almost died!!!! I did 190 cals in that 15 min. I did 6 min backwards. OMG |
Sue,
I am jumping in with you on the exercise. 30 minutes on the nordic track and about 15-20 minutes of stretches and tummy tucks. Looking forward to more tomorrow :) . Phyliss |
Wednesday today and got the exercise routine in already :) . Did 30 minutes on the nordic track (I love the nordic track - within 10 minutes I am sweating like there is no tomorrow!!!) and then did some leg lifts, tummy tucks and butt tucks. Ended the session with some stretches. Probably a total of about 45 minutes.
How is everyone else doing with the big EEEEEE? Phyliss |
I did nothing today as I really worked hard yesterday on all ends and i needed to give my aching muscles a rest, but watch out for tomorow!!!!!
Phykllis you are doing great with the big EE keep up the great work! |
I did my Kiegel (sp?) exercises today...I am exhausted!:dizzy:
peach |
Peachie! Yopu always make me laugh! Have you measured yet? LOL!
|
Ruth and Peach, thanks for the BIG chuckle you both gave me this bright and early morning -
Phyliss |
Thursday morning and I just finished up with the daily exercise routine. Did 30 minutes on the nordic track and 17 minutes on floor exercises and stretches. Four days this week and counting :) .
Phyliss |
OMG Girls I am ROTFLMAO that is a hoot. thank goodness for you girls.
I did oliptical for 30 the did lower body workouts. did great, my but will be hurting tomorow, from the kiegels!! :D :D |
Oh Peachie, you reminded me of the time I had to explain kiegel exercised to a woman in the chatroom while a man named Big Rich was there. I tried to describe it with dignity, but Rich made me laugh so hard I almost wet my britches! Thanks for reminding me..I got some exercise from laughing this morning!
|
Glad you spotted the post, Tip. I missed most of the lesson but poor BR must have died laughing too.
|
Yes Ruth, that moment is right up there with the time MamaJ told us the story about the pig and the deck chair!
|
OK PIG in the DECK CHAIR? I got to know about that one!!!
|
You'll have to ask MamaJ about that one!!:D :D :D
|
I will ask her!!!
I did not do any exercises today but will be hitting the gym tomorow! |
Yes, Susan, please ask...inquiring minds want to know!
Tippy, I've really got to make a point to get into chat sometime... sounds like a lot of fun! peach ps...on exercising...I got my not Jiff sister's 35 year old Schwinn bike out of Mom's basement cleaned up and repaired and I am THINKING about using it! Does that count? Hopefully when the boys go back to school I will get some time to play Miss Gulch...run toto tun!!!! |
Peach i think it does count!!! you did have to carry not-jiff's bike up the stairs right????
I hit the oliptical trainer for 30 min and did 417 cals wow what a pass out workout!!! |
LMAO~~

I don't know which is funnier....visualizing Peach measuring after her Kiegles, BR' face behind his puter with Tips explanation of THE EXCERCISE or remembering the pig and lawn chair!! Tippy, I can't believe you remembered that! :o Let's just say that my friend Susie had some stray pig that became enamored with her lawn chair and uh....well, how to tactfully say this....for several mornings the pig would show up and "play around" with the chair....Susie would call me and be very descriptive of the "activity". One morning we were chatting, the pig showed up, started his usual "play" but....well, does the expression "makin' bacon" bring anything to mind? She swears "it" was shaped like a cork screw! :o I guess I should add that after the bacon was made the pig curled up on her patio, next to the chair and took a nap! I swear this is a true story! Hey Ruthie, that story won't get me a swat with your chicken purse, will it? :^: Now that pig knew how to excercise! J |
Now MamaJ how could I forget that story! And no, Ruth is too busy laughing too swing the chicken purse right now! It was one of those precious moments in the chatroom that I will never forget. I was laughing so hard I literally had to walk away from the keyboard for a few. Thanx for the memory!
|
HA! Janice! You have just made my day! You have given new meaning to sitting outside in my lawn chair and eating pork rinds!!!! Cork screw?????!!!! REALLY? I never knew!!!
AND>>>>> I am suppose to measure after doing those exercises?????just what the heck am I suppose to measure???? peach |
Now Peachie~~
Tighten....release.....tighten....release.....Now think about it, what do you feel? What do you think is getting tightened? What do you think you could be measuring? :o
OMG~~Never thought about sitting in my lawn chair munching on my pork rinds before! eeeuuuuuu! Or maybe the thought could help set the mood! Okay, on the excercise front....I walked for an hour yesterday. Not briskly but steadily. All the brisk walking I did downtown this morning should definately give me credit for at least 30 minutes. J~~not wanting to think about dipping my pork rinds in anything right now! :p |
ummmmmm......
NO WAY! NO How I ain't measuring!!!
You are kidding right????? I don't think I get it!:o peach |
OMG I am sure glad that i have been practicing or my chair would have been a bit soiled. Poor pig must have been the smell of the pork rinds to set him off:o cork screw???? I wonder if that is why bacon curles up when cooked. EEEEEWWWWW I am done eating that!
On the exercise front tighten and release tighten and release I never thought of measureint that!!!:o oh the other kind.. I did the oliptical for 30 and then did free weight for a bit. very tiring today! |
