I figured I'd switch the "weekly" to a Sunday through Saturday schedule.

So, it's Sunday- can you say "ahhhh....?" coffee, and a whole day spread out ahead of me to just be home and putter around. I have a few small chores, but nothing awful. I want to put a coat of paint on a door before DH rehangs it. And one load of wash left.

I spent Friday and Sat at MIL doing grocery shopping and laundry for her. She was glad for the company and is doing well. Asked for pizza for dinner! With pepperoni! You know she got it. The drive back was pretty easy, and I was home early last night.

So that's it. eating carbs, but not OVER-eating. Small bag of doritos in the car. a banana and two peaches (mmmm...southern peaches, ripe and sweet and juicy) and the aforementioned pizza(but we split a small one.) When I got home I had sliced steak and grilled zuchini for dinner and another peach. my blood sugar is staying even and I feel ok. But except for the peaches, I am done with the carbs for next week.

Got some swishing and swiping(cleaning) to do, then out to the garage to paint.

how're you all doing?

talk to ya later,
dottie

Glad to hear your MIL is feeling pretty good, Dottie! You are such a great DIL to help her out like that.

Just a fly by this morning as we need to get on the road in a few minutes for today's doubleheader that is a couple hours away.

Have a great Sunday all!

Good Morning, everyone.
Just finished cooking a big breakfast for the two of us. I think it was more Atkins than South Beach, but it was low carb. I still can't figure out which lifestyle I'm on. I thin its just cutting carbs, period.
I need to go to the mall today and look for new glasses for myself. Have had my prescription for quite some time but need to check and see if they can add color to the rimless glasses. I've decided I like the look of those, although when I was much younger I thought they were just for older people and as the saying goes "Now I are one!"
I need to run to the grocery store today and get some new cat food. I have a little kitty that has made her home under our deck. I look forward to feeding her every morning and getting a little snuggle from her before she eats and takes off. I've noticed that she is not eating this new bag of food I got her and she hasn't been that picky before. The last food I fed her (before this) was soft pellets instead of the hard crunchy ones. I wonder if that makes a difference. She would start eating those soft ones while I was pouring it into her dish. Maybe I should go back to that.
I"ve my supplies for making the flaxmeal muffins. Going to check those critters out. Have also been looking at stores for the almond flour but guess I'll have to order it.
I really felt like getting out and driving around the countryside today but DH is stuck to the television with his early morning Sunday shows, so guess I'll do my cooking now. Only problem is that it gets too hot to get out in the afternoon.
Guess I'd better get busy doing something.
Lets all have a losing week............OK

Monday morning-
well, the coffee is helping, but I still feel tired. It's good to just have 5 normal days ahead of me...no contractor, no running to Home Depot for grout, no driving 5 hours for MIL. It makes work look like rest!

Hey Kel, how was the doubleheader? Love watching these games; we have another one Tuesday night, the girls won on Saturday, moving them forward. Too cute...what a trip.

Lolow, how's the kitty? I have a neighborhood cat that comes to our garden...I fed her for a while, but stopped. I think I just got mad that she/others are peeing in my gardens. The smlell sometimes is VERY clear! I am also doing Atkins/South Beach. My objection to SouthBEach is the cutting of fat- I figure that''s the benefit of Low Carb- to feel more satisfied and full, and I like my broccoli buttered! And full fat cheese, 1/2 and 1/2 in my coffee. I do sort of general LC, with some fruit lately since the blueberries and peaches are so nice now. I guess it wouldn't kill me to eat a salad once in a while...I need to eat more vegetables.

I'm trying for a good 5 days of eating this week. Oddly, I am down 1 lb, I guess from how active I've been and not eating too much anything. Saturday, SIL will come stay for 3 or 4 days, so I have some cleaning/prep to do. I'd like to get the yard cleaner (shrubs trimmed, weeds pulled) so we can have some people to bbq, and sit outside. so, evenings this week, I will try to get some chores done instead of sitting in front of the tv.

off to work, have a great day all!

dottie

Hi Dottie! Hi Spot! Hi Lolow! Lolow, it is nice to meet you! I am lately a sporadic/manic poster. I should promise to do better but I am a slug and know better!!!

Went for a walk in the rain this morning. A couple of friends and I have been walking around the track. It has been resurfaced and it is easy on the joints. The little guy is at school, the big kid at baseball camp and I am waiting for dh to come home to go to Kohls to get a new vacuum cleaner. Heaven forbid I should pick out such an expensive item by myself

Hey....here is a site for you all....just to irritate you and get your groans on.... www.organizedchristmas.com We should start now. They even have a grand plan to get your house cleaned by Christmas time...it starts at the end of August....ok, who's with me? OUCh.....gee, you softball/baseball fans have been working on your arms, haven't you?!

ok ok, I'll admit to purchasing two little Liz Claiborn purses for $7.95 for my nieces for Christmas...but that's all I've done. promise.

food wise, I am doing ok, except this mornings vitamins hit my empty stomach and rejected them. I love my children...as I am hanging over the sink heaving my very little guts out they are yelling, "hold on, mom, slow down, we want to sell tickets!"

I love my children
really I do

It beats the last time...."she aims, she shoots, she scores!"

yep, I love them
sure I do.

have a great day!

Tuesday morning- where is everybody?

Nice to see you Peach, what vacuum cleaner did you get? Coincidently, I got my last vacuum at Kohl's! It's green, a Hoover I think. The idea of DH going with me is laughable, he doesn't even know we have it...let alone where it's from or what it's used for. Well, that's not fair, if I placed it in front of him he would push it around for a while, but that's it! The man is on another planet about things like that.

hi to everyone else, hope you're busy and having fun. It's pouring rain here and has been all night...but I'm going to work so I don't care. but the little girls have a softball game tonight, I hope it's not rained out!

Well, off to pack the food for lunch/snack and get going. I bought some gorgeous peaches in Delaware and had some sliced over cottage cheese yesterday...I think that's breakfast today! Yum, and cottage cheese holds me pretty well til lunch. Ham and cheese. I don't know what else...

back later, have a good one!

Hey, where is everybody?

It's Wednesday morning...DH is gone, the dishwasher is going, and I'm on my second cup of coffee. this is a nice time of day. Too short, as I have to leave in 1/2 hour or so, but it's worth it to get up early and start off slowly...

Yesterday was uneventful. DN softball game was canceled due to rain, and I doulbt they will be able to play today, thunderstorms are expected this evening. we'll see.

Anybody watching Big Brother? I can't figure out why they are ganging up on Mike...I like him. The others seem ditzy and young. There's no one over 30, no interesting characters, except the brother and sister... I may give this show up this year, although I've watch the others up til now.

That's it for me. What's up with you?

have a great one,
dottie

Morning, Dottie.

I've been much too busy lately - I've determined I need a certain quantity of 'lolly gagging around' time in order to feel 'together'. Weekends are lost due to baseball (coming down the home stretch towards our end of season trip to San Diego so the boys are really working hard) and Melis and I have been on a few shopping trips in the evenings trying to get her ready for college (warmish clothes for San Francisco, bedding, etc. for her dorm room). We have been to two different stores (1 1/2 hours each!) for bra shopping - she was finally able to find some at the 2nd store. What torture! Jeans shopping is next - and Melis DOESN'T wear those lowrider kinds so it is almost impossible to find normal jeans for a teen.

I'm missing watching any good TV lately - can't wait for the new season. We watch some of the reality shows but haven't been into Big Brother.

I better get my butt in gear and get to work. I took yesterday off to have my hair cut and highlighted. My ample grey hair is now campflodged (sp) in with the blonde streaks! - HA! Foiled them again!

I ran off this morning without posting-DH and I BOTH overslept...paid for that in rushing around, spilling, dropping and forgetting stuff. But got to work on time!

Hi L, hope you are staying dry- it's been rainy here...well, yesterday it held off til late. And today's pretty nice actually! Hope you are enjoying your NYC visit.

Kel, lolly-gagging is my middle name. I feel the same way \ that I need a certain amount of just nothing time, down-time, to fritter away. Putter? Relax? Your mind just needs to set quiet...DH doesn't understand this, although he has his hobbies. i know that when I am playing alot of computer games, that I am really looking for that kind of downtime. Your schedule has picked up-and I can't believe Melissa is headed for college! That is too much.

Well, the 9&10 yr old girls won their district championship last night! I feel guilty as I never thought they would, but they've been great. Of course, the adults(dad's) have been practicing them 5 nights a week, but they seem to be thriving, what do I know? It was great fun, they got a banner, and medals; as did the loosing(second place) team. There is another round of Long Island tournaments, then(as DS says, on to Albany-statewide tournament). It's nice they got this far, they beat out their school teams, then all 8 other teams in the county.

That's it for me. busy day here, but I can't complain, it goes fast!

be good chickies,
dottie

Congrats On that nice win Dottie! I know they are proud of that. How is everyone else today? I am getting ready to fly to Chicago to visit my daughter next weekend. Cant wait to see her. She moved there March and I have missed her greatly. She has alot of fun things planned to do. I dread Ohare airport. Its so blasted big and confusing. Lolo, hows the new kitty? I am a cat lover myself, and have one that we call Snuffy, She is about 14 years old, and thinks she owns us. Hope everyone has a really good Friday and weekend. Linda

Oh, blessed friday!

Hi Va linda, hope your flight is easy, and o'hare doesn't do you in! I've never been to chicago, but I have friends who went to school there and loved the city...they talk about the restaurants, but compllained about the winters! Hope you have fun with your daughter-

I am on my own tonight, can't remember the last time that happened. DH is going down to DE to see his mom and sister, who is in from Portland, OR. I elected to stay home as I have been there way TOO much these past weeks. I feel like I should do something fun; I might rent a chick movie and get some wine and go to **** with myself! no plans for Saturday, then Sun nite to my DM for family dinner. I guess I will just do some grocery shopping, and maybe cook a bit. I haven't been cooking and food has been catch as catch can. I am ready to get back to my routines after a couple of weekends of travel, and midweeks with the contractor here. So, maybe some cookbook browsing to get some fresh ideas.

That's it I guess, just a few hours left here at work that should go quickly- it's a fairly quiet day today- the weather is gorgeous, maybe everyone is at the beach. Hey, why didn't I think of that?

be good chickies,
dottie

Hello Everyone -
I've been a little lax on posting this week, but DH has had the computer tied up with (of all things!!) work. But he's taking a nap now, so I jumped on for a few minutes. (The computer, that is).
Dittie, it sounds as if we're on the same wave length as far as a diet lifestyle goes. I started out SB, and like you, missed my butter, so switched to Atkins, but add a little fruit and stuff now and then. It might be catching up with me though, so may have to go back to induction on Atkins for a couple of weeks. I'm trying to figure out which carb is affecting me, so am dropping something that I've tried each day. I think one problem is that I need a new scale. Wish I had one that was in line with the doctor's office, but that is almost impossible. What I try to do is wear the same thing to the doctor's office each time, weigh just before I go to the dr. at home, then when I get back from dr.'s office, I set my scale with theirs. Sort of works.
Kitty is still around. I changed her food, just bought a small box to see if she would eat it. I think she looks too thin. I need to take her in to get her rabies, but she is rather skittish. I wonder if you can get a travel box at Petco's or something like that to put her in. I hate to invest in a regular carrier for her, since she's not mine either. Well, I guess she's sort of mine. She lives here. LOL.
I'm cooking a big pot of fresh turnip greens on the stove right now. DH loves them with cornbread and I can't have cornbread, but that's all right. Thought it would be a veggie I could get in for tonight for myself and make DH happy at the same time. These southern men sure do like their greens!
Guess I'll get busy. Trying to get everything cleaned up for the weekend.
I will check out the getting Christmas organized or whatever, but I'm just not an organized kind of person. I like Flylady also, but just to read how to get organized. Not do it!!
Happy losing this weekend.
