It's the Weekend and it's also Mother's Day so be nice to yourself this weekend!

I'm off to work in the Greenhouse and it will be a zoo! People with big orders will be picking them up today to get their 20% discount and little kids (and men) will be wandering around trying to decide what to get for Mum! Everything will be lush and gorgeous! I love it!

Tomorrow we have a Parish Service at out Church. Timing is perfect as our thousands of bulbs will be in bloom. I hope the weather holds.

What's happening with you chickies?

I am running to the greenhouse for an azalea for mom, then grocery shopping and a big LC cookfest! Made the Atkins Blueberry muffins this week, they were totally acceptable; I froze them for weekday breakfasts. You just have to keep to one per day...

I'll stop back later-

Morning Ruth! Morning Dottie!

Happy Mother's Day to all of my favorite women!!!

I just got off the treadmill. I think I am going to die. At the very least, I smell bad! I have been wearing a heart monitor while on the blasted thing and have developed a love/hate relationship with it.

Food has been going ok, although I am finding that I am grazing too much. My big downfall.

Dh took the little guy down to the shore. The big kid is watching hours of cartoons. After I hit the showers and do a bit of fly lady around here it is off to get mom a gift certificate for a facial and then have the boys pick out some plants for her. She wants a fried chicken dinner tomorrow...Jiff will do desert cause she does it so well. Baseball game for the big kid tonight.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Celebrate you and your chickie friends!

love,
peach

Happy Saturday to all my chickie friends............ haven't made it in here for a couple of days - work is REALLY interfering with my personal life! I hope everyone is enjoying the lovely sunny weather today.......

Kel, I hope the kids are better by now. It's time to take some more time for Kel to relax and enjoy herself - or at least to recharge her batteries!

Ruth - BARN cleaning? how did it go? did you find any forgotten treasures? anything suitable for the Antiques Road Show?

LindaBC - I absolutely agree with you about the reality check: they're awful! I went for a haircut and touchup today: caught a surprise glimpse of myself in the mirror and didn't know who that fat lady was?!?!?! Then someone asked if I wanted to join on a bike ride - I'd probably flatten the darn tires! <big sigh> : how to feel REALLY bad about yourself in one quick second!

Dottie, thanks for the info about the LC store. DH also found one. I know that you are in Nassau, and this is in Suffolk, on the south side of Jericho Tpke (heading east) between Trader Joe's (the Commack store - at corner of Larkfield) and Commack Road........ ok - that's a couple of mile stretch, but he couldn't remember the exact address! (oh yeah, he also couldn't remember the name of it!!!!!) They're "relatively" inexpensive and have lots of good stuff.

Peachie, good to see you dropping by ... nice to know that you are enjoying the treadmill

Well, I hope all you wonderful ladies have a wonderful Mother's Day... however you celebrate it, whether you've got children of your own or not....... I think it really ought to be WOMAN's Day............ so, here's to ALL of you..........xoxoxox

Yesterday was a strange day for me as far as eating went. After a breakfast of bacon and eggs I didn't get hungry until about 3 pm at which time I had a dish of l.c. ice cream and a 1/2 cup of mixed nuts. Then I decided I should eat some "real" food so I cooked up a couple of frozen burger patties with some cheese topping and 3 sliced mushrooms. Naturally, by the time Peter wanted his dinner, I had no interest in food whatsoever. My mid-afternoon eating held me until 11 pm at which time I had (but shouldn't have had) a 1 inch piece of leftover dinner sausage and a slice of havarti cheese. Definitely not enough veggies in my day. I will try to do better today.
So far I've had 3 breakfast sausages and 3 of those pork rind pancakes.

Weather is on and off rain and sun today so I guess I will be sewing on grandbaby's christening gown instead of gardening.

Happy mother's day one and all. I got the same gift as last year and didn't use it, bad me! It is for a local spa, not the one I like but I will figure out how to use them both.

Cool this morning, out to run a few errands and a little family time. Survivor tonight, I can't wait!

off to the shower,
have a great day!

Happy Mom's day everyone -

Please do like Sono suggests and try to take some time (even if all you can spare is a few minutes!) for yourselves. Banish all the negative from your thoughts and just celebrate all that you are!

Too broke to do much of anything this weekend - we will go visit my mom this afternoon for a bit. Then back home to work on laundry (something never change).

Hi Ladies:

I'm new to this board. First registered in '01 and this is my first post since! I'm from Long Island, too. Been working with a nutritionist on a lowish carb program since last July and fell off the wagon for the last three months. Put about 10 lbs of the 16#'s I lost back on.

Need to get off the real and fake sugar. Get Back on my positive WOE. Feeling badly and no energy. The good thing I did was join Curves for a little shake up of my work out. So I do get my butt out of bed in the am before work and sweat with the ladies!

Hope you don't mind a newcomer on your board but I need the support without having to go to WW or OA(been there, done them).

A friend just brought over a huge layer cake for Mother's Day. It's just my husband and me here for dinner. AAAAAHHHH!

Peace to all,

Basha

Welcome Basha. Now, you leave that layer cake alone. (send it to me) Actually, I've had a sheet cake in the house for the past few days. Just a cake mix that I frosted and I've been giving it to Peter for his evening dessert. So far it hasn't tempted me. Today my grandsons were here for Mother's Day and I sent the cake home with the younger one. I think Peter has had his fill of it. He's one of those irritating people who can have just one piece of something and then not care if he has it again. In fact, he'd prefer a different dessert every night in the week....as IF!
Daughter brought a couple of deli roti chickens and the makings for a Caesar salad. I had made homemade rolls so they all enjoyed a nice lunch without too much work for me. I just had some chicken and a bit of salad.

Stayed up too late(11pm) to watch Survivor, so I'm tired this morning. Running around now to get ready to leave. this afternoon I will leave work early to go to the dentist- hate that!

Did't do too bad yesterday, despite the coconut cake I made for DM birthday Ate 1/2 a small roll and a small piece of cake. It was planned, and I felt OK that I didn't go overboard and I didn't have crackers or potatoes. I got on the scale Sat and am still just down 1 lb. but I am optomistic about this week.

That's it for now. ttyl,

dottie

b-Atkins muffin
s-cottage cheese
l-cauliflower/swiss soup
s-leftover pork chop

Good Morning Ladies and Happy Canadian Mothers Day !!!

The weekend was so nice, wish they weren't over so dang fast. Nothing much is new here, sosdd. Got some plants of Saturday and planted them with dd yesterday, it was sweet, she's such a good kid. She's looking more and more like shirley temple with her curly hair.

Well kiddo's its good to see you all and that your all doing well.

Hugs !

Hi Ladies:

Made it through Mother's Day and had a peaceful one. Feel optimistic, also, about the week ahead. Support is wonderful and I am glad I found this site.

Today I will keep away from the sugar, white flour and diet coke!

Love this Spring weather and the sunshine. Hope you all have a sun shiney day.

Welcome Basha! We have a dreary and rainy day but I know there's lots of sunshine ahead of us. I'm actually glad of a day without gardening! Luckily Sarah my garden helper isn't here or she'd have me finally tackling the barn.
My weight is still the same - I need another whoosh! How the ehck can you lose 2.5 pounds overnight and then nothing for a week!
The Girls go for boosters and then to be weighed later this afternoon. I think I'll sneak in a wee nap before then as I didn't do that on Mother's Day.
Happy Monday to all.

I actually dragged myself to the pool early this morning and feel much better for it. I've been letting older daughter's news of her split with hubby of 18 years depress me too much. At least it hasn't made me go off my plan but it's been hard. Food is such a comfort but we all know the end result of relying on it.
Talked to younger daughter in Scotland earlier today. She phoned with belated Mother's Day greetings and we had a lovely chat.
BTW, don't the US and Canada have Mother's Day on the same date? I always thought so. Judging by tv ads we do.
Anyhow, time to get my rear in gear around here. Hey, aren't I poetic?

Hi all...... wow! I'm home early for a change! I hope everyone had lovely Mothers' Days......... LindaBC, Mother's Day in the US was yesterday, and according to my calendar, for Canada it was today? hmmmmmm... why on a Monday and not a Sunday (weekend?)
I'm sorry that you are stressing over dd's problems - however, <little bit of preaching coming here> just remember that even tho she is your child, these are ultimately HER problems, and you have little to no influence over the outcome. There, does that help you to feel better? I hope so - I hate to see you getting aggravated over what you simply cannot control, after all, there are so many OTHER things to get aggravated over: like the skyrocketing price of gasoline!

Ruth, I'd love a whoooooosh too........ even one measly pound would help me to feel a little bit better about myself......I think the world is about to come to an end: YOU? HAPPY about a day without gardening? OY! I don't think I can take this!!!!!

Basha, welcome to our little corner of the coop.............the support here is terrific - regardless of whether you are doing well on your plan, and especially if you are not! These chickies are the best!! BTW, you are right near me, I'm in Islip Terrace. As for the sun shiney day - what happened at about 5:00 - where did it go?????

Leenie - great to see you...... when do we get to see a new pic of the princess?

Dottie - looks to me like you're back on track. How'd the dentist go today? I hope you're not hurting.........

Well, time to go get those chicken cutlets cooking............
