Arrow Starting On The Atkins Road To Recovery!!!

Hi everyone,
I discovered this website a little while ago but never really used it. I wanted a quick fix to my weight problem............and guess what, it's taken me 33 years to finally realise there is no quick fix!!!

I've tried them all since I was a kid, but never really stuck at it. But I've now made up my mind to go for it THE ATKINS WAY!! My plan of action is to start it after valentines day because I'm going to Paris for the weekend and want to enjoy it.............and have a final carb blowout

Fear and trepidation is on my mind at the moment.........will I be able to do this? Will I fail at yet another? You know what girls, I think I need bootcamp treatment to kick my bum!! Or do I

I need support girls to go the distance.

How will I cope with wanting things I really shouldn't be eating?

Oh by the way I'm in the UK, so if anyone has any useful low-carb uk site info I would be extremely grateful.

Good luck girls............keep up the good work you all seem to be doing!

Congrats djbp98 on making the decision. I remember it being a defining moment when I stopped lurking, started posting and decided to do this. Defining and scary, exactly for the reasons you said but it does become so much easier with the help of everyone. BTW, if you haven't already been the Atkins forum on here could be helpful too and Fitday to track your food and ratios of F/P/C.

djbp98---welcome to the world of wondering I came to this site before I started Atkins. Read just about all I could find and STILL was/am confused. But the more I come to this site and post my questions and read these great people's answers..the more I'm thinking I CAN do this! I've tried almost all the diets also. I gave myself 2 weeks on Atkins and figured if I didn't lose weight or couldn't stay on it then it was my own fault that I was gaining weight and there was nothing I could do about it because I was weak. But you know what? I'm starting my 4th week So it DOES get easier to stay on track (well, except a few glitches w/chocolate here and there. lol). Just remember---we're all here if you need support

Angry

Thanks for your welcomes and your support.
I really, reallly don't want to fail this time, but I just don't know if I'm strong enough to see it through. I've used food as a comfort blanket all of my life..........I know I'm doing it and yet I carry on. I reward myself with food if I'm happy, and console myself with it if I'm sad.........WOT A MESS!!!
I'm really hoping that this is the time.

What a saddo I am You know what I've just done........I've just bought myself a Playstation 2 with an eye camera.......I find that I start off exercising ok, but then my motivation shoots out the window because I get bored. So I thought, right this may be the exercise way............I can be a big kid and exercise like mad whilst playing interactively with the eye camera! I'll let you know how I get on

Can anybody tell me can I have milk in the induction weeks or thereafter? I do like my cup of tea, and I understand I can have cream in my coffee, so that's not a problem, but is milk?

nope. no milk during induction. I'm not a tea/coffee drinker so I can't even give you suggestions of what to put in it. Sorry
