Default Weekend Chick-Chat - Jan. 10 & 11

Will somebody please tell me why I wake at 4 a.m. when I've been in bed just since 11?

I was at rehearsal last night and was home by 10:10, cuddled The Girls, stoked the woodstove, had my Sleepytime tea and read a bit. But I was wide awake before 4!

It sure would be great if Kevin were to come and finish the closet this morning but I'm not holding my breath. Monday will be interesting when Gail is here to clean and he is here to mess it up!

Odds and ends of things to do today - including bringing in wood -but I know a wee nap will be in order this afternoon.

The coffee is on. What are your weekend plans?

By the way, be sure to read the Sticky about the time problem.

Coffee is great, Ruth - thanks! I've noticed the same thing about waking up... it seems like it almost doesn't matter if I get to bed early (10) or stay up late (12)... I've been getting up at the same time - which is always much too early! Not to mention, the 2 hour "sleep break" that comes between 2 - 4 AM!!!

Not much in the way of weekend plans ... except of course, I guess it's time to unpack the rest of the suitcase from the trip, do laundry and put away all of the summer clothes...... with any luck I'll be able to KEEP them away, too, cause I hope they'll be way too big when the weather changes.........I've completed 2 days on Atkins (re)induction completely OP, and looking forward to today being #3!!

Well, time to go to the chiropractor and then return library books - have a great day Ruth and everyone else to come - will check back later

Grrrrrrr! Kevin just called. He's not coming today. Too darn cold to get the truck started. He also has his 6 year old with him so it is altogether impossible. A weekend of bedroom chaos is ahead!

Morning chicks!

Quick flyby...

Gray, overcast here. Supposed to warm up tomorrow into the 40's and melt some of our snow. Good enough.

Ruth -- just for your consideration. DD tried sleepytime tea and was having trouble sleeping + a few gastro-intestinal issues. Stress makes my DH do the same thing, sleep a few hours and wake up brain buzzing. Me, I can sleep through an earthquake, which is one of the qualities I like best about myself.

Food is coming back online. That's a HUGE gift for me and the world I influence...

Woo Hoo on the job, Kel! I know you'll look terrific. And keep in mind, that unless you remember on Friday what everyone else wore on Monday, no one else will either.

Have a great one. It's a gift!

Hi Chicklets. Another grey weekend here on the Wet Coast and most of our recent snowfall has melted in the rain. I love it!

I couldn't sleep much last night either but it was because I couldn't stop coughing. That's the first time since I got this wretched cold that Nyquil hasn't knocked me out for the night. I think I'll be having an afternoon snooze too.

I'm still not in ketosis, probably because of the Nyquil and various cough drops I've been using, but I haven't got much of an appetite anyhow. Scale is standing steady at 272. I'm hoping for a whoosh once I wean myself off the meds.

Isn't it amazing how many companies are suddenly getting on the low carb bandwagon? Be vewy, vewy careful, Chicks. Not all low carb products are really all that low carb.

Happy Sunny Saturday!

It is so nice to see the sun today - I really hate it when we have grey or rain for days. It really does a number on my mood. I don't think I could live in London or the pacific north west with all the rain/fog/grey - I might go 'Charles Manson' or something.

I'm feeling ya, Ruth (altho, mine is not from construction) - I tore my closet and dresser apart yesterday to see what the heck I have that could pass for workwear and I didn't get it all put back away yet. (garbage pile/give away pile/lose-10-lbs pile) I had to clear a path so I didn't kill myself in the night on my potty trip. I'm getting a late start (heck - its 2:30 and I've done many chores BUT not that yet) but I vow to get it done before bed tonight.

Linda - Yeah, I've been finding it interesting that the fastfood places, etc. are jumping on the LC bandwagon. Seems to really have caught on now. The thing I just CAN'T figure out is why KFC doesn't have a chicken salad. I mean, they DO chicken, right? They could make it with their rotiserie chicken and it would be fine.

L - Now thats not fair. If you go to a movie you HAVE to give us your opinion of it. How else am I going to decide if it is worth it or to wait for it to come out in rental? Hope your weather gets better.

Sooner - That's the idea. I'm trying to find stuff to wear that WON'T be memorable! lol I don't want people thinking "Get a load of the lady in the 80s duds!" or "I can't beleive she wore THAT to work."

Have a great one. (shhhh, don't tell Chickadee but I'm going to try to put my Christmas decorations away tomorrow)

Kel

Do try the chicken wrap from sub-way. Not bad but not too much meat. I love to eat!!! So today I did make some of my own and YUMM Loads of chicken and bacon bits, and some cheese wraped up in (here's the bad part) burrito shell. I need to find low carb wraps.

Ruth and you Northern chicks how low were you today?? I hit a chilly -22 F this morning. BBBRRR had a frozen how water pipe heated it up and it froze again during the day so now it is runnig, I can just think of my water bill.

got a call at 7 am and needed to go to work and cover for a sick gal. she did try but could not make it past the first few minutes!! Drove 20 min to get there but just could not continue. So my Saturday got blown. UGH!!!

Well gals I am tired and do need to go to bed after this day. even though it is early!!!

Brrrrrrrrrrrr! Only two more hunks of wood left for the woodstove so I'll be out there as soon as it gets bright!

I may not get to Church again this morning as H. has been sleeping late. I'm sure they'll let me back in - especially if I am carrying my chequebook.

Thanks for the hint on Sleepytime tea. I didn't have any last night and slept until 5. I think I got up at 5 for too many years and my internal alarm is set. I don't mind in summer but it doesn't get bright here until about 7:30 these days.

Doggage are barking so I have to go help them fight off the terrorists! (It's probably a neighbour starting his car!)

Good Morning Ruth and all to come... looks like a gorgeous day outside, but looks are soooo deceiving!!! The sun is shining, but it is freeeeeeezing out there - our town hit a record low yesterday of 3, with windchills a lot lower; now, I know that that is nothing compared w/some of you northern chickies (how's the woodpile holding up, Ruthie???), but for me - I'm COLD!!!!! ok, rant over now BTW Ruth, you didn't mention the coffee, so I've got a big fresh pot here - you're welcome to join me!
Well, I've now completed 3 days OP, maybe I'm actually getting back into the zone? I sure hope so..... it's been a long time since I felt so in control of what I stuff into my face. We went out to dinner w/some friends last night, they wanted Italian or Chinese food - I told them we couldn't go there (I'm not "strong" enough yet to be around the pastas and Chinese noodles - huge red light foods for me) so we went to a steak/burger/ribs place - yummy ribs there.
I guess it's time to get the day started - have a great one everybody...........

Talking Good chilly Sunday morning !!

It's been soooooo frustrating not to get here for sooooo long !!!! Puter problems. Sometimes I could get on line for a few minutes and then poof - nothing !! DS, Chad, the puter genius, was in England visiting DD, aka Kudos, and since he had hooked up all these new fangled gadgets and boosters to my puter he's the only one that could fix it! A bit after 11 p.m. last night I'm baaaaaaccccckkkkk !!!

Have lots of reading and catching up to do! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

Let me do so catch up and I'll be back!

Oh, it's soooo good to be home again !!!

Janice!! I am back too after quite a few months of noshow with NO PUTER!! Hey send me an email I do not have it on my current puter.

Well DH woke (he had to go out and work) me to can you tape a pprogram for me will by the time i spent 1 hour trying to figure out with the new vcr and tv which is all messed up i missed his whole programs. so OH well he would have missed it anyways.
Poor man. So now I need to get things in order here and as i had to work yesterday I have only a day to get things back in place and start to play with the other computer trying to fix it. I need to find fly lady again and start with her program. 15 min a day I can manage that. i am getting with the kids and their program. I give them 1 hour they can use the hour how ever they want if they chose to clean for the hour then they clean for the hour if they clean to my satisfaction in 5 min they can spend the rest of the hour watching tv or palying game boy or whatever., that makes it their decision on how the spend the time and their decision of they do not do it.

this I will also incorperate into thehouse cleaning for all the kids. and me!! (puter time to be included in this.)

Hey, Janice! I was wondering where you've been. You missed a bunch and won't be able to catch up on it cuz of the server crash and everything from mid November until last weekend was lost.

Sunny today again. I'll be the first to admit I'm a big baby about the cold. There is NO WAY I could live somewhere that was regularly in the 20/30s or lower. You guys that live in that are amazing.

De-christmasing will have to wait another day. I've got MUCH laundry and some bathrooms and floors to do today. Plus Cody needs a new pair of shoes - kid is growing like a weed. I swear he eats 24/7 since I even find bowls/wrappers in his room!

Another milestone for me yesterday: I took the car to have the oil changed (something I have NEVER had to deal with before) and it seems the belt had bad cracks in it so needed to be replaced too. I felt kinda 'out of my element' and didn't know the answer when asked if it was a 6 or 8 cylinder but I got thru it!

Have a great Sunday everyone - do some little nice thing for yourself today! You deserve it!

Hi, everyone!

I had to re-register, so now my user name is arlak.

I've had a lousy weekend, eating-wise. DH went to the play-off game yesterday with his best friend. I always get antsy when he is on the road, so all of my good OP intensions went out the window and I went to Taco Bell. I could kick myself. I was doing so well. I know I'm an emotional eater, but I thought I was getting a handle on it. The Rams and I both screwed up. Oh, well. Back to square one today.

I've spent 7 hours this weekend at school, getting lesson plans and study guides finished for various units for the next couple of weeks. We have to turn lesson plans in for every unit we teach. It is a pain in the neck, but it does keep me more organized and I like that.

It feels great to be able to post again. I've missed my fowl friends.

Have a super weekend (what's left of it) and a great week.

Karla
