  • Due to the overwhelming demand of the big LOSERS on this board, the New Year's Eve Champagne Challenge is about to begin! (NYECC)

Challenge officially begins tomorrow am - November 1st and ends the morning of December 31st (in time to celebrate our great new bodies).

As mentioned you may wish to break up the goals in smaller increments (e.g. nov 30 and dec 31st) if this helps.

Otherwise the time has come to MAKE YOUR COMMITTMENTS and post here all your goals for the next 2 months (food/lbs/exercise/bad habits, etc).

    I will start:

    1) I plan to weigh less than 175 lbs by New Year's eve (with smaller goals of 180 by nov 30th and 175 by december 31st).

    2) I commit to do at least 120 minutes of exercise per week (as suggested by my doctor).

    3) I am still in OWL and will try to eat under 30 carbs per day while adding new acceptable foods to my diet.

    4) I will try and avoid foods that I cannot control such as macadamia nuts, pecans and stay away from excessive amounts of sf/sugar alcohol products.

    I think that's it???

Hope everyone else will join in!

  • 1) lose 20 pounds by 31 December. 152 is the number.
    2) exercise at least 4 days a week.
  • Ok, I missed the last challenge so I'm in on this one.

    1. My goal is to lose weigh 145 by new years. I'm also setting a "stretch" goal of 140.

    2. I am going to continue to do my pilates workouts 4 days a week.

    3. I am going to stay away from sugar alcohols.

    4. I am limiting my alcohols to one per week.

There it is! Come on the rest of you!
  • I am in!

Goal weight of 160 by New Years eve! (15 pounds)

    Exercise 5-6 days a week!
  • ok, count me in. i've been very lazy with atkins over the last few days. i was really having a hard time getting the turkish feast 5 lb gain off. i've let myself have too many liberties. i just felt so defeated when it was not coming off when i was trying so hard. anyway, i'm gonna set 170 as my goal. i've really got to kick it in gear. i really need to exercise more faithfully also. good luck to all. hopefully things will settle down soon so that i can keep in touch a little better.
  • I'm feeling very despondent at the moment. Partly because even when I do stick to my woe and exercise I STILL lose incredibly slowly. Also, if I blow it for even one little snack, the pounds pile on instantly. It's very depressing.
However, I'm ready to try again and once again I'm going to try to set a realistic goal. I'd like to be down to 270 by New Years Eve. That's 12 lb away. You'd think such a small amount would be doable. HA!
  • Hang in there Linda, you can do it!
  • I'm going to go for 189 by December 31st. That might be pushing it a bit, but somehow the number seems so much lower than 190-something. I don't know why. Anyway, that's my weight goal.
I also want to meet an excercise goal of doing some sort of extra activity every day. Might be Body Flex, might be a walk, might be a Total Gym work-out. Just something every day.

  • I am aiming for 280 by New Year's Eve. That's a loss of 17 pounds. I also want tomake an exercise commitment. I commit to walking on the tread mill every day for at least 15 minutes. This is going to be tough.

    Good luck to all.

  • So Froufy.. do we have a scheduled weigh in day? or can we report anytime?? MOnday is my official weigh in day... so I was going to report today... As soon as I get on the scale!

also will we go week to week on the threads here or just do one thread for the whole challenge??
  • I think a weekly Monday morning weigh in would be great! - unless others prefer a different date?.and we should definitely start a new thread every week so it will be easier to post and keep track of..... Last weigh in will not be on Monday, but will be on Wednesday Dec 31st!!!! (you get an extra couple of days to really make sure you hit that number!)

Any other suggestions? I guess we can count this as the starting week and can post next Monday as week 1 comes to an end. Maybe instead of just listing pounds lost (I can never remember where I started, or where anyone else did for that matter)...we can post starting weight (nov 1 ) and current weight each week (date specific)and challenge goal weight, so we can all see how we're doing and how much closer we're getting each week (hopefully!) to our champagne challenge weight! (for example: week 1: 187/185/175) - total 2 lbs lost week 1 - I wish! ha ha)

  • Can I join, too???
Now that I'm into this board and doing the Atkins Thanksgiving Challenge - I want to do this NYE challenge, too.

My goals over the next two months (Thanks for the ideas, Froufy):

    1. To weigh 255 by New Year's Eve. That IS a stretch considering the season we're entering - but it's something to strive for and it would be my first goal weight at my first 10% gone. Actually 10% would be 256.5, but I like round numbers and I don't think I could hit 250 with two major family holidays between now and then.

    2. To exercise at night after my dd goes to bed - it's the only time I have to do it and I need to make the most of it. I will do my pilates tapes (if I can find them in the boxes) and ride my exercise glider. Even though it's not the best workout and I can't do it in the mornings - it's better than nothing. I will aim for 5 days a week.

    3. To not buy any more macadamia nuts! I can't stay away from the evil things And, to drink more water!!

    4. To stay at or around 20 carbs per day. Trying to get back to and stay on induction a little while longer until some of this weight melts off.

    5. Avoiding even the "safe" desserts... it's still dessert.

Okay, that's long and involved, but that's it. I have two months... and I can do it. I just have to plan ahead!

    Thanks!
  • Whew! Thank goodness we're not going to officially weigh in until next monday. I'm stalled. Probably due to TOM. Still OP and actually getting some excercise. Went for a quick 2-mile walk last night.
