Default What do you do to kill your sweet tooth without eating sugar/carbs.....

I do great everyday until the afternoon and then I'm hunting for something sweet - I need some ideas other than sugar free jello (i've actually eaten so much of it i'm beginning to get sick just thinking about it!) to kill the sweet tooth other than something thick with carbs. today i let myself go too long and ended up falling off track -

I find that eating something salty works for me but I'm not sure why that is.

I also keep a supply of these pork rinds that I buy that are lightly coated in cinnamon and splenda. The fat is filling and the cinnamon/splenda takes care of the sweetness.

If you keep eating sf jello you will not tame that sweet tooth. Are you in Induction? How long lc eating?

The goal is of course to get rid of the sweet tooth altogether and this may mean keeping away from all sf items as these may only encourage your need to eat something sweet. Try drinking water, eating fat/protein or brushing your teeth? It takes a while but once you break the "addiction" you may not feel the need to have something sweet in the afternoon.

Good luck!

I would say you aren't getting enough protein possibly. If it just from habit you need to change things around to get develop new ones. Plan your snacks - look for new recipes, food choices, ideas, etc.

You could take a walk or drink a huge glass of water or call a support friend or ?

(I spoon of sf PB that I would make last a l o n g time would do the trick for me when I felt like I was going to fall off the wagon - but your mileage may vary)

StarPrincess - Where did you find those pork rinds? What is the brand name? I've never heard of them.

I eat 2 oz of cream cheese on occasion or mix some sugar free syrup in 4 tbsp heavy whipping cream. I don't eat it often but sometimes do need something a little sweet. Good luck!

I get the pork rinds at one of my local low carb stores, but the maker's website is www.gramsgourmet.com you can visit there and they will let you know if a store near you carries their product as well as where you can order online. I highly recommend them. They have cinnamon & splenda and also cheddar. They've saved me on many occasions.

Something that I found works very well both as something to satisfy that sweet tooth (because sometimes you just have to!) and as an appetite suppressant.

Take 2 cups heavy cream, mix in 1/2 a package of SF pudding of your favorite flavor and mix well. Pour into small bowls and refrigerate. It takes me about 3 bites to really kill the sweet tooth and when eaten before dinner really kills the whole appetite so you eat less. Plus it's REALLY good. Don't eat too much, though, because it does have some carbs from both ingredients... but it is a WONDERFUL way to do it.

It's going to sound VERY strange, but dill pickles cut the sugar cravings for me.

Good Luck!
