Good morning chicks! For anybody that didn't read Ruth's MIA post, Harry isn't feeling well. For those of you that pray, think of them!
Today is my first day back at work after a 4 day weekend.
I really enjoyed my weekend but it is ending way too soon. We spent most of it haggling and dealing for a new car, and then changed our mind yesterday and will keep our old car. What a mess! I feel really bad for the salesman, I will call and break it to him this morning. We got a super, super, super deal on this van but we really just like our old Explorer better. I hope the transmission doesn't fall out of it next week..
Yesterday was perfectly on plan with 60 minutes of exercise. I'm going for the treadmill right now, and shooting for 45. See you later!
Good Morning!
I had a really good day yesterday, too. Stayed within my 20 points range, drank all of my water... I haven't started any exercise program yet because I am recovering from extensive sinus surgery that I had on the 29th of August. Once I'm healed from that, I plan to start walking since the weather has turned so beautiful! I have asthma so it's hard to do too much as far as exercising goes.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day today!!!

Today starts my new eating and exercise plan. Ive been thinking about this for a long time (very long time) and finally decided to do it. Ive started the Body for Life Challenge. Basically its lower carb, and low fat with weight training and cardio. Im a slug when it comes to exercise, except for my walking. But I know that in order to get anymore of this weight off, Ive got to work it off. The days of letting it melt away are pretty much over for me Its time to do some chiseling at this fat!!
I spent most of the day yesterday making up lc & lf soups and getting my salmon patties ready for the week. Looked up alot of recipes, and other links for support, and hopefully this will be an easy transition.
Well, I reached my first 'milestone' over the weekend...my first 20lbs loss! I'm about 1/6th of the way to my final goal now!
I'll be out of touch for most of the week. I leave for our Dallas warehouse tomorrow for work, and won't be back until Friday. Plus, we have a vendor taking us out to dinner tomorrow. Fortunately, it will likely be a steak place, so I'll be doing good!
Hey congratulations Brad!! You are doing sooooooooo good!
Robin, promise me that if you post your before pictures, and you're in your underwear, will you make sure they match??? WOW, I really admire people for posting their pics, but I can't believe some of the underwear mismatch pics . Bad ones, like a red and black lacy bra and blue and white polka dot panties. And they are standing in a pile of dirty laundry in front of the washer....I'll be anxious to see how you do. I want to start BFL in the future. I did a lot of weight lifting as a late teen, and I loved it and the way my body looked. I am looking at Spring time to switch over. MrsJim in the Ladies Who Lift forum is EXCELLENT and knows her stuff! She has awesome before and after pics, also. Good luck!
Clivey, are you doing a LC WW plan? Good luck with it! I tried it with no luck. I heard that South Beach can combine with it pretty well.
Jennifer,
Right now I'm doing the Atkins...oh, looking back at my post, I see what I did... I put "points" instead of carbs! lol oh well.. it was early! I've been reading about the South Beach. Do you think it's better than the Atkins? What are your opinions on it? I really like the Atkins plan, so don't know if I would change or not, but it would be nice to know opinions. Thanks!

Hi Brad. Great job on the 20lb loss. Can't wait to see that myself!
Nothing really to say, just checking in (like I DIDN'T yesterday) to keep myself on track. As long as I'm losing, I'll be able to stay mostly motivated. If I "stall", though, I'll be relying heavily on these message boards!
Well, L and I made it to the gym this morning. I puffed along for 45 minutes and then did 2 reps on the weights (upper's only this morning). I'm going to do upper body one day and lower body the next so I can do weights each day but still rest the different muscle groups.
OP yesterday and today (I was a little casual last week ) but TOM is due any day so I'm sure there won't be any scale movement this week.
Tomorrow is my 14th wedding anniversary. DH and I were just going to have a low-key day but MIL wants to come down, do a BBQ, etc. It's a school night and I'd rather keep the kids on their schedule and get them to bed on time, homework done, etc. This is going to be more work than a treat but I don't want to take the rap for saying no *sigh*. Of course, MIL would never consider *watching* the kids so we could go OUT for dinner .
Brad: WTG - keep up the good work!
Robin: What is "Body for Life"?
Jennifer: I have a (male) friend who is horrified that I/anyone wouldn't buy/wear only matched underwear. He was turning down pages in the Victoria's Secret catalog for his wife and I said I didn't think matched sets were all that necessary, unless of course one is in a train wreck
on the sixth day of atkins, i'm down 8 lbs. i'm so excited. i'm having a much easier time with atkins this time than i did in the spring when my doctor put me on it. in short, i'm tickled pink. have a great day!
Help! There's a birthday cake for 2 co-workers being cut as I type. And it's my absolute favorite, German Chocolate! Not only that, people are walking around saying "MMM MMM!" and "This is so good", etc. Thank goodness it's happening during my lunch hour so at least I have something to eat. I'm having Tuna "salad" Tuna, mayo and a little bit of celery and onions. It's one of my favorite things, but it sure as heck isn't chocolate cake! Oh well. A woman I encountered on another thread had a wonderful signature: Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels. I'm going to believe that for today.
Think I'll wander in and see how the 2 salesmen in the shop are doing. They're doing low-carb too!
Jen
P.S. My supervisor just walked in and said, "Man that was good. I should have gotten a bigger piece!" AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!
Jennifer you certainly made me laugh!!! Your right about the mismatching undies, and piles of laundry, and messy houses I couldnt imagine my hubby letting me post my before pictures of me in my underwear on the net. He would have a major FIT!!
So I opted for my one piece black bathing suit. I just couldnt do it in my undies for myself let alone the net!!!!
I got thru my first day pretty good, of course I didnt eat all my meals like I was suppose to, but Im sure in a few days, I'll have it down pat.
Kim, Body for Life, is a diet and fitness program by a fella named Bill Philips. Low carb/Low fat and weight training w/ cardio.
All my water in today, did my weights, and hubby and I are off for a nice walk later.
Hey just let me clarify here (close your eyes Brad) that I am not one for matched underwear...I'm not that organized! I do well to keep matched clothes hanging in the closet. However, for public pics, I would make that exception!
I don't think I've ever had matched underwear in my life.
I didn't realise it was a priority with guys. Hmmmm
This morning I went to the pool but the pool I usually go to is closed for it's annual maintenance so I have to go to an older one and it's really not as nice. But, I managed to get in a pretty good one hour workout. Tomorrow morning I start the Body Flex exercises.
Still OP, still in ketosis, and still feeling good but no weight loss this past week. Same old..same old. This old body just doesn't want to give up the pounds. It must think there's another Ice Age on the way and wants to keep me warm.
Congratulations on your great loss, Brad. You're doing fantastic. Good luck staying OP on your trip.
Hey Linda, I think off the magazine pages, it probably doesn't matter to most men since they don't see much of it - husbands anyway. I dont' run around in my underwear too much. Usually just clothes on or clothes off! Hehe!
