Jen, exercise is the hardest thing for me to commit to as well. There's no point in making a promise to yourself or anybody else that you will do more than you know you can or really want to do. It's self-defeating. I just say that I will TRY to go to the pool 3 times a week and get in my hour of deep water jogging. Sometimes I actually do it. :D
My Body Flex kit arrived yesterday and I'm hoping to watch the videos and get started on it this weekend. They recommend doing it every morning before breakfast. Hmmmm, that's when I usually have a little snooze in my recliner chair while I give my pills their required hour before eating. Should I forgo my lovely little nap for exercise? Tune in and find out.

So far no change on my scale even though I've been totally OP. Oh well, I will persevere. It's gotta go sometime. :^:

Hope its not to late to join in!

I just started Atkins on Saturday so this would be a great way to stay focused. My goals are:

1- Lose 15lbs ( am on induction, this should be OK)
2- Get all my water in
3- Exercise 5x/wk

Good Luck Losers!

BArb, we should probably call this the Little Pumpkin challenge. I'm glad you've joined us. The more, the merrier!

Day 6

So far, everything's going nicely :sunny:. This week, exercised everyday except the 2 days of planned rest, but then I did my weights, so really went everyday! OP all the way and down to 189 so 16lbs left to go.

Hope everyone else is doing great!

I wanna play too. Just re-started Atkins from WW. Husband said he would join in too, if I would do low carb. Hurts to say but starting at highest ever not pregnant weight of, Ouch, 219. Goal for Halloween, under 200. Not sure if that's reasonalbe or not, but will give it a shot.

Ok somebody needs to kick me in the hiney. Go ahead, there's plenty to aim at! I haven't used FitDay yet. I also haven't been drinking 64 oz of water. I've been making it with Crystal Light, but not good pure water.

Ok, I'm bending over!

LindaBC 09-08-2003 01:00 AM

You know what, Jennifer? It's really not that difficult to use FitDay. At first it's a bit of a pain because you have to enter all these different foods but, if you're like me, you eat a lot of the same foods over the course of a week so you only have to enter them once. The part that bugs me (and anybody who knows how to fix this please let me know) is that I'll enter all the foods I've eaten and I'll see something like 7,000 calories showing. It's because the darned thing reverts back to huge quantities like 1 cup of butter instead of the tablespoon I actually ate, so I have to go down the list of food eaten and adjust the quantities. That's a nuisance. What a relief to find it was only about 1300 calories.
Welcome, Davebecca.

Monday morning WI. After a not so OP weekend (did the best I could with what I had to choose from) I lost (drumroll please. . . .) 2 pounds! The long stall is over! :dancer:

Tummy- congrats on 189! I'm so happy for you. :bravo:

Davebecca- welcome, glad to have you here.

Jennifer - (boot firmly planted in hiney) okay now, I'll turn around and you kick me. I'm not so good on the water everyday either and I don't use fitday, and the most exercise I get is flapping my jaws saying I've got to start exercising "some day". I guess we all have things to work on, huh? :chin: Good thing we have 3FC. :D

Have a great week all!

I'm in ...

Great, I needed another challenge. Starting tomorrow 9/9 as I have been away for a week. Last weight was 77.2 kg (170lbs) so will try really hard to make it down to goal weight (ww old habits die hard) which is 70kg (154lbs).

We're off to Lake Como (northern Italy) on Sunday and as we all know it's really hard to live lc in a country which is very proud of its red wine, pasta and bread but will try my best.

Have had a few cheats the last couple of days, but stuck mainly to Atkins so we will see tomorrow when it's weigh in if I've gained or stayed still as I'm sure I haven't lost.

Good to have this support group. C u tomorrow.

Good Morning.

I'm doing O.K. on my food and water, but excersize, what excercize? This week I'll start.

I may have to rethink my 10 pound goal, though, since I've already lost 3 pounds! I'm so excited.

I'm thinking about riding the bus again 3 days a week now that the weather seems to be cooling off. I used to drive to the Park and Ride, but maybe I could just plan on walking the 3/4 mile to the bus stop. Not a lot of excersize, but more than I've had.

Running lat this morning, though, gotta go.

OK

Monday WI and I lost .5 pounds.. That is OK.. at least it is down!

I did exercise 6 days this last week! WOO HOO! and Drank all my water! And journaled my food every day! Also took my vitamins EVERYDAY! WOO HOO! I stayed around 1500 calories a day. I think I am going to have to cut back on the beef and pork and eat a little more chicken and turkey so that I can keep my calories a little lower. TOM this week so I hope to see a bigger loss this next week!

Cara 09-08-2003 10:17 AM

So far I'm drinking more water, exercising (Pilates every other day) and wearing my pedometer. The pedometer really gives me the incentive to be a little more active all day long as I have a 10,000 step a day goal.

I'm journalling faithfully in Fitday.

I'm down one pound since I started on the 5th.

Thanks for the welcome, Ruthxxx!

WEEK 1 RESULTS:

So far no good news to post! I was away this weekend at a wedding, and altho I did not overindulge too much (okay I had a sliver of wedding cake and some of my kiddies' frozen yogurt), but it was hard to get all my water in!

I am only up a bit (194.8), but not on my way at all with this challenge. I think the "hormonal issues" are my problem. I seem to have "light" period today, feeling bloated and yucky, even tho I am on day 16 of my bc pill cycle...very weird. Not sure if this is one of those Atkins-induced hormonal fluctuations?

Back at work and drinking water so hopefully this too shall pass!

Froufie
