Got up early today to get a few things done before leaving for work. So, the dishwasher's running, a load of wash is ready to start, and I made a HUGE spinach omelet to take to work. I'ts enormous. But I have to have legal food available or I'm shot the minute I want something.

Yesterday was better than the day before, but I haven't been under 20 g. yet. I am a dyed-in-the-wool Atkins person, but it takes me a few days to get the hungries under control!

Scooby, how'd you do yesterday?

Not much else, it's Thursday, one more day til payday!

have a good one!

Angry Good early morning!

Just a quick check in this morning!

DH will be in the office soon and I'm still having to use his computer. DS (Chad) was planning to come over and take a look at mine but that "virus" hit the college and he's been working late fixing the computers. sigh

Life is good though crazy! I'll check back in when DH leaves!

Hi all, just passing through to say hello to my low-carb friends.

School started in my neck of the woods on Monday. My daughter's last year, and my last child to graduate. She may be ready, but not sure Mom is.

Have a wonderful Thursday!!

Good morning early birds,
The sun is out and the rain has passed!
I bought some proch furniture and it is going to be delivered while I wait for my dad to come. Aunt and uncle are going to take little man and older boy to the toy store! my brother does this every time he comes, the kids LOVE IT. So do I. They get to get something I don't want to get them and I don't have to be the bad guy.

We had a nice dinner last night, Lobsters and steamers on the menu for tonight.....but first I need coffee!

Later,
-L

Hope you made enough coffee for me!! Kids just go out the door for camp and I'm working up my motivation to go do 1/2 hour of gardening before I shower and go off to work with a client. It's finally supposed to be a nice day here, if a little hot.

Have a good one all!

'morning, Ladies....

Brisket last night, here. I tried a little of that Atkins branded BBQ sauce. So much for that...I'm only touching that stuff again if I desperately crave having a BBQ sauce on something.

I'm beginning to think that Splenda just doesn't agree with me in most stuff. In too many things, I can tell from the taste immediately that it's being used. There are a few exceptions, though, such as the packaged bars and a some Carbolite caramel/chocolate candy things I had.

I'm giving Stevia a spin, as well. I have some tablet-form Stevia, but it's been cut by a massive amount. Four tablets in a glass of tea still didn't equal a packet of saccharin (which I prefer for tea). I've read, though, about the uses of the concentrate liquid, cutting it significantly, and still having 1/4tsp equal 1cup sugar. I may go that route. I do have some packet Stevia as well, but it's a blend with rice maltodextrin, so it's 1g carbs per packet. Bah!

Good morning everyone :0

A few minutes here before I start the day. Been doing very well eating and since TOM finished I'm down 5 pounds! WHOOOHOOO!!! Have to say I am pleased with the progress.

Intersting note, I saw on the shopping channel last night for Atkins--basically a whole "starter kit" for those who don't know about Atkins. Would you believe they are charging 80 bucks for it? Gosh, just go and buy the book for $7!! What a waste. The only thing I could see of value is that Dr. Atkins made some videotapes about how to succeed at the program.

Off to do some much needed housework--lazy hazy days here and only 3 more weeks till Miree starts school!

Way to go Pooky on the 5lbs!!!

Ive been beating myself up alot this summer because I havent really lost any weight. Ive gained, and lost what I put on. Now Id just like to keep it off until the end of August!! Ive never been one to lose weight in the summer, simply because Im a slug when its hot. I sooooooo much prefer the cooler months. (dared not say winter, incase Ruthy is lurking)

So........to get myself back into gear, Im going to maintain my weight for the next 3 weeks (a task in itself since I have to meet the ex and his gf in 3 weeks) then I'll switch over to protein power. This is the diet I lost 100+ lbs on, and for what ever reason, I seem to be stuck with Atkins. Ive hit this weight, and I dont seem to go any further. Im sure lack of exercise is part of it. But I thought I would give PP another try. The only reason I didnt restart PP was because I had lent my book out and it was never returned. When I went to the library, Atkins was in and I thought I would give it a try. Well, I bought the PP book again, and Im ready to give it a go again.

Ok, Im done rambling......must be the heat!

Have a great day everyone!

Robin

good morning all!

I have a question for you gals.... Sorry Brad....

When you are in the middle of TOM, do you gain even if you stay OP? Yesterday I was down 1.5 pounds and this morning I was up 1 lb.... granted the day before I was down 1.5 pounds I only had 6 carbs for the whole day and yesterday I had 11. would that make a difference? Or is it TOM... sigh... I am shooting for down 10 at my 2 week mark on Monday...

BUT, I am down 6 pounds net and am 10 days solid OP!

Have a good day everyone!

Well Karen, it's kind of going to be like when a pad commercial comes on TV and all the men in the room avert their eyes but... I usually gain a good 3lbs at TOM and then when it's over drop anywhere from 5-8lbs like a rock. I've been pretty low in the carb department too and I haven't really noticed a difference at all but you may be more senstive, you seem like you may be in the average metobolic resistance rate and I'm in the low range so that may account for the carb gram thing.

Today is going well despite being strung right out from a nasty work schedule yesterday. I was totally prepared though, had my evening nap instead of dinner and had dinner at about 2am. My body popped up a pound considering I was up 20 hours with a 4 hour nap that snuck in so I was fully expecting that my body was going to say wth this morning when I got on the scale. But the grand success of the day was that I stayed totally OP and drank all my water even when I was getting very tired and my right mind was wandering away a bit.

So today will be a bit of a short day, only 2 meals and then I better be able to get to sleep at my usual 10pm (I'm NOT old ). And I actually exercised yesterday OMG, I haven't done a thing in 2 weeks because it's been far to unhealthy to walk in this ungodly heat and that seemed to be all the excuse I needed. But today I'm going to have a visit with my eliptical trainer, I'm starting to notice that my skin is not quite as tight as it should be in certain areas, oh the horror!

Oh and the docotr update from the 5lbs in like 2days, i realized it was 2 not 3 that it came off in. He said I may be the only person to drive an hour because I'm losing weight too quickly! But he did all my blood work and tests and I'm "perfect", his words not mine. Feeling much better about it now which was the whole idea. My blood pressure has actually dropped to 120/70! The first time in my adult life that it hasn't been insanely high. Thank you Atkins!

Hope everyone is staying positive and having another great day.

September Goal: Work on these darn long winded posts!

No problem, I'll just avert my eyes and change the subject, like any guy (in his right mind) does.

Tomorrow will be my first splurge, but likely not over 20g still. Cheese soup and cheesecake! We don't have much choice right now but to use Splenda for the cheesecake, so I'm hoping it's not enough to ruin it for me. (See my previous post about my feelings on Splenda's taste...)

(Edit: Okay, okay...it isn't really a splurge or cheat....I just might go well outside the induction bounds for cheese for the day, but it's not like I'm having a loaf of bread !

I'm taking the day off tomorrow for my birthday, but no plans other than the stuff at home. I need to do some work at home anyway (potential $$$ in a website I'm working on with my uncle). Maybe I'll try to hit a GNC and find some of that protein powder and that liquid Stevia concentrate.

Happy birthday Brad! Enjoy yourself.

I'm feeling really good today. I made it through a luncheon and stayed OP. They served sandwiches and salad. I ate salad and the meat from the sandwiches (roast beef, ham, and turkey) it was delicious and filling. My niece, who is just starting to teach at my school this year, is doing WW. She said that she just couldn't imagine how anyone could stay on Atkins for life. I told her this is the one diet plan that I can imagine staying on for life. It's wonderful to never be hungry and not have those cravings like before. I also told her about 3FC and told her she should come here and read the WW boards. If the people there are as helpful and nice as everyone here, it should be a good place for her to go.

Well must go read some other threads. Have a great day, all!

Robin, I don't think you have to worry about Ruth lurking. Her plane is probably still circling Ottawa due to the power outage. LOL I'm a bit worried because I know it was supposed to land at 7:30 but the airport is closed. At least, that's what they're saying on tv, so it could be a while before she checks in.

I had a busy morning doing prep work for the birthday party I'm having here on Sunday. I got all the veggies in zip-locks for the two salads and the dressings for each are mixed and in fridge containers. Nice to have some of the nitty-gritty stuff out of the way in advance. I also made some pie crust dough and will be baking pies on Saturday evening....blueberry and cherry (not that I can have any tho, dang it I will just have to get my pleasure from my family's enjoyment).

Very hot here today so I vegged out all afternoon. Tomorrow morning I will be going to the pool followed by a visit to my daughter the hairdresser for a trim.

Happy birthday, Brad. Hope you have a great day tomorrow. BTW, I turn my head and ignore the pad commercials too.
