  • HI,
We went to the fair and I walked all over the place. We were there for over 6 hours. My foot and ankle swelled up and I had to spend all of yesterday laying down. It was still worth it. I'm much better today.
I ate all the wrong things and they didn't taste as good as I remembered. I never did get my turkey leg, we just didn't get close to that area and even though they were selling them all over, that one place is the only one where they are fresh off the grill and really worth eating.
There was all kinds of legal food for low carbers though. I think this way of eating is catching on.
The weather has been so nice. In the 80's, breezy and low humidity. The weather man was talking about how some people are complaining about how hot it is at the fair and he said in 1983, the temp was 115 and the humidity was in the 80's, so this is much better. They've got ac in one of the buildings now, but with so many people in there, you couldn't really tell.
Anne, have you watched that tape yet? I use that one in the morning and then the new one in the afternoon. I use the bar both times. I'm not even going to think of measuring myself, I can tell you that I haven't lost anything-too much food and too much of the wrong food.
Today is DH's birthday. I don't think I'll be eating very well today either. Will have to start fresh on Monday.
Hope everyone is doing ok, Nikki
  • Good morning,
We had more heavy rain overnight. So far today we've had on and off showers and it continues to be extremely humid.

nikki, glad you had a good time at the fair and that you had good weather. Sometimes food doesn't taste as good as you remembered it. DH & I were in Virginia Beach a few years ago during their Neptune Festival, which is really big down there. We had planned on eating at one or more of the food stands. The smell of all the fried foods were making us sick, so needless to say we didn't eat there. A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your DH Hope your foot and ankle are feeling better.

ANNE, hope you're enjoying your weekend. Is it still muggy there?

Enjoy the rest of the day.
    Aleka
  • Oooh, the fair! I forgot about that. It will probably be here in about two weeks. Gee, I hope it dries off by then. Yesterday is the first day we haven't had rain in a couple of weeks.

Nikki, hope that foot feels better!
  • Happy Monday Everyone:

Nikkic, I hope your ankle and foot are feeling better today. Happy
Birthday to your husband! Hope he had a great one.

Aleka, it is so muggy its just awful. Everytime I go outside I
feel like I'm in a sauna another bad hair day too

Nikkic, I watched the body flex videos. I am adopting a
couple of the exercises into my body flew plus routine. I am
doing the butterfly and the cat. I am also practicing a few
of the skipped breaths. Trust me, I ain't in no hurry to try that
pretzel!!! Bit by bit.........I lost another 4 inches this week. It is astonishing the difference this breathing has
made for me. I love it.

Nikkic, its funny I can really relate to what you were saying about
the food. On the holidays like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter
when I go back to "traditional food" that I use to love it just
doesn't taste as good as my memory remembers it

We will be going to the CNE which is the Canadian National
Exhibition on Labour Day Weekend. I can't wait to get some
of those midway fries and tiny tom donuts!! I got lots of body
flexing to do in the mean time.

    Talk to you all later.
    Anne.
  • Hi,
I'm fine now. I spent the day cleaning the house and catching up on some of my gardening. Luckily, it rained last night, so I didn't have to water today. The tomatoes are doing great and I got a huge bucket of big tomatoes and a large bowl of cherry tomatoes.
We went out last night to a favorite mexican restaurant for DH's birthday. It was very good.
Today, I'm trying to be good with my eating. So far, it's going ok.
Anne, I am so thrilled with your results that your getting. Your going to have this little waist like Greers before you know it.
I'm trying to figure out why I'm not having the same results. I've read alot of the posts at their website and have tried to incorporate all the suggestions. I still enjoy the energy and the feeling that I'm doing my lungs a big favor with this breathing. Plus, I can really see a difference in my stomach muscles, they are so much stronger than they use to be.
Guess I better get some supper going. Take care everyone, Nikki
  • Hi Everyone!
We had heavy downpours and bad thunder storms last night.
    Naturally the basement flooded

Nikkic, its so true the energy surge is amazing. What I love
is when you let out the PAAAAA breath and pull in your stomach
while holdilng your breath. It feels awsome

I am really tightening my arms too. I am so glad I bought this
system. Best money I ever spent

Our humid conditions are suppose to leave tonight. I hope
this does not mean more thunder storms

Hi Aleka, hows the weather out your way?

    Anne.
  • Hi,
Hope your all doing ok. I spent the evening last night downloading updates from microsoft and cleaning my computer. Hope you guys don't have any worm problems. I found out my computer can automatically download updates daily, so I went ahead and started that. This is scarey stuff, they can steal your credit card number and personal information, plus cause general havoc around the world.

Anne, I have to admit, I didn't use the BF or any exercise for 4 days. I had a lot of excuses, but mostly, I just blew it off. Yesterday, I did BF and boy, I sure found out that you can lose what you have quick. My stomach was not as toned, it was harder to roll it up and I was really out of breathe when I was done. The rest of the night, my abs were kind of sore. So, I learned my lesson and won't take any time off. I had gained some weight too and after BF, 15 min on the gazelle and drinking juice for most of the day, I am back to where I was a week ago with my weight. I didn't think I was getting that much benefit from BF, but I was wrong.

Aleka, hope your weather is better.
Two Pillows, how are you doing?
Guess I'll go do BF now and then get another one in later, Take care, Nikki
  • Hello!
It is hot today but thankfully without humidity. All that rain has gone by.

ANNE, you are doing fantastic with BF. You have really lost a lot of inches. Has the humidity gone from your area now too?

nikki, glad that your foot and ankle are feeling better. A few of our tomatoes are turning red and I can't wait until we'll be able to pick them. It's going to be really nice having a fresh tomatoes in our salads.

    Have a great afternoon.
    Aleka
  • Hi,
Anne, I just found out that your with out power up there. I hope and pray that it is restored soon. I hope your weather is cooler so it is not too unbearable for you and your family.

Aleka, I hope your not affected by this. It looks so wide spread.
    Take care everyone, Nikki
  • Good Friday Morning Everyone!
We had a heck of a night!!!! There was a blackout here that
lasted 12 hours!!!! It was sooooo hot no one here
slept a wink. We were really worried about my dad. He
depends upson air conditioning with his breathing. It was
    really nightmarish.

Parts of our city are still blacked out. I am hearing New York
and Detroit are also suffering under this blackout.

I don't know what to think. All day yesterday at work we
were having problems with the computers and error messages,
crashing etc. One must wonder if it is all somehow related.

I was really lucky I was just walking in the door yesterday from
work when this occured. I leave the office at 3:l5 so alot of
the staff that leave at 4:30 were stuck downtown with no way
    to get home!!!

Nikkic, the first things I did when the lights came on was put on
the coffee pot, take a shower and do my body flex

How are you Aleka???? Any computer problems etc. I will talk to you later.

    Anne.
  • Hi,
Anne, I was really worried that you had to walk home. I saw all those people in NYC walking and then I thought of you and your family. What a mess. I've heard different ideas about why this happened, but I have to wonder about that worm causing the computers to crash. For security reasons (or because someone made a stupid mistake that they are covering up), they may never tell us why it happened. I'm so glad you and your family are doing ok. That would be really hard for your dad. Maybe he should talk to his Dr about getting an emergency supply of O2, just in case this happens again.

Our weather has turned into a real sauna bath. It was bad before, now it's horrible. When I go out in the morning, it is usually cool until the sun comes up, but this morning, I went out to feed the cats and it was really hot and humid. I had planned on spending the morning in the garden, but not now.

The nationals (sprint car races) are going on in town. We usually have 15 thousand people in our town, now there are 50 thousand extra people in there. The town is over run with people. There are campers sitting in almost everyones yards, cars parked everywhere and people are everywhere all the time. DH and I went up to where the food stands are last night and I got a turkey leg. The people just walk out in front of your car, never looking. At least it will be over on Sunday. It's like the town in one big carnival, but not fun, for me anyway.

Aleka, hope your doing ok. I found out that I didn't have my firewall turned on on my computer, so got that little box checked.
These computers should be easier to use.
    Take care, Nikki
  • Good afternoon,
Thankfully we didn't get the blackout. Yesterday when I was first watching the live reports, they had NH in the yellow blackout area. I looked around me, the fan was blowing, the TV was on, and I thought, HMMMMM. I did see this morning that Vermont was in the blackout area.

ANNE, Glad that everything is ok with you and your family. I thought of you right away when they said it had reached Toronto. You were lucky to have just arrived home when it happened.

nikki, it's like a sauna here too, hot but no humidity. They say next week will be delightful, but we have to go through some showers and thunder storms to get there. Try to stay cool.

    Have a great weekend.
    Aleka
  • Oh boy, is it ever hot and humid. It got up to 96 yesterday and the humidity was almost that high. Today, they said it's suppose to be even hotter and tomorrow hotter still. I am going out to the garden now, while it's still half way cool and pick tomatoes. I did get them watered yesterday, the ground is so dry, everything is burning up. But, that's the joy of living here.
Anne, I did my BF this morning. I weighed and looked at my calendar where I mark my weights everyday. I'm now back to where I was at the first of the month. I gained 10 lbs and lost 10 lbs in the last 2 weeks. State fair, birthdays and too many trips to DQ this month. If I wasn't BFing, I don't think I would have faired this well. It is disappointing, I could have been below 200 if I'd eaten right. Well, I did this to myself. I figure, I'm heading in the right direction, I'm just taking a few detours along the way.
Aleka, glad you didn't lose your power. I haven't watched the news for a day or so, is the power back on everywhere now?
    Take care, Nikki
  • Good morning,
nikki, the heat and humidity must be unbearable. When we had it the last couple of weeks it was only in the 80's and I know how uncomfortable that was. I just can't imagine it being close to 100 deg. with the high humidity. I hope that you are staying inside with the a/c running. It was hot here yesterday too, in the low 90's, but thankfully without any humidity. I really felt for all those people who lost their power, especially in the cities. I think for the most part the electricity is back on. I heard on the news last night that Detroit was still without power and may not have it back until Mon. The news this morning was that CT has some power back too, if not all. Also, I think the news mentioned OH, that they have to boil their drinking water for at least 3 days because of raw sewerage. Even though you did gain, you have to personalize whatever WOE you decide to do. It may take a little longer, but you will eventually get there. I am basically doing a low carb plan and trying to make it so that I can live with it. I am sick of bacon & eggs every morning, so I will have those cream cheese pancakes that were in SS cookbook that people Somersizing created. We'll see how it goes. I even got out the Torso Track (as you call it, the Torture Track) and started doing that this morning.

    Hi ANNE

    Have a great weekend.
    Aleka
  • Bacon and eggs I've had too many of them too. I just eat a bowl of cereal now, it's easy and quick, and so far, I'm not tired of it. I even eat it for a snack when I'm hungry and in a hurry. Just got in from the garden, had to take a break. Right now, it's in the shade and the temps aren't too high yet, plus there's a little breeze. I won't be out there much longer though, it's already in the 80's and it's only 936am.
Thanks for filling me in on the news. I know how miserable it can be without power. We had a tornado a few years ago and our power was out for 4 days, and it was about this time of year. Just aweful. Glad most people have their power back on.
