I need to start journaling again!!! I feel so much more in control when I can write a bit.
School for the little guy and I think the big kid and dh are off on an excursion. I need to do some paperwork and make appointments for pre op blood work
I should be cleaning. One of my sister in laws is coming next week with her dh. Love this lady and can't wait to see her.
Feeling terribly sentimental over the passing of Bob Hope...loved that man.
have a good one...I am back on the search for sanity and balance I think Mr Hope had it pretty well wrapped up!
Cheeky works too! 'Morning, Janice! I was planning to make the coffee and air out the Coop but you beat me to it.
Oh Peachie, I so agree with you on Bob Hope and the way he lived. He is probably knocking them dead in Heaven right now - so to speak!
Would you believe I slept until 6 this morning. I guess my body has finally reset its auto alarm! I have been going to bed a bit later which may help. I do love the early mornings but there is not much sense in getting up before dawn these days.
I tried to stay OP yesterday - I really did - but leftover Fair candies called to me. Once again it happened in that dangerous time when DH has gone to bed and I'm still up for a while. Oh well - today is another brand new day.
The Girls are SHGirls this morning as they managed to get into the garbage in the kitchen. However, I won't stay angry with them for long as they were just adorable last night. They came in from bedtime potty with fireflies tangled in their black curls. Such pretty magic!
Today's "project" is to figure out what to do with zucchini. They are starting and I need to come up with a solution other than throwing them in the compost. I have two jam and marmalade recipes but they are not for a LC or SBD plan. Muffins and breads are off the allowed list too. I am going to try to make a zucchini pancake or something. I'll let you know how it turns out.
This afternoon I'm off to do the Library Literacy and Crafts programme. This is the last day of something that was so much fun. We have kids from 2 to 11 so it's a bit hard to come up with suitable crafts. It'll be fish mobiles today in keeping with the 20,000 Reads Under The Sea. The kids have done well on reading and reporting on ten books - so sweet to hear their "reviews".
I'm off to do a double lead walk down to the Lake. Hershey is still very overweight but we are doing our best. A nearby kennel has treadmill sessions for dogs. I may resort to that although it takes a lot of exercise to burn a pound of fat as we all know.
I agree with you Peach. Bob Hope is an American icon. He certainly seemed to have it all together and contributed so much.
The usual stuff for me today. A bit of typing in the office, more cleaning. I just deep cleaned last Thursday and you can't tell! I think I live in the land of pigs!
I may take a quick run to darn WallyWorld again. I need storage containers. As I'm getting the house prepped to sell I thought having closets in the storage containers would help make it easier on me when the actually moving comes around. DH thinks that's silly as it could take us a year before the house sells and a new one is built. Oh well, it'll look better than the crap they've got shoved in them now!
Got a surprise call from my daughter in the middle of WW yesterday. So, I'm standing in the coffee isle chatting with Kudos in England! Technology! I'm so happy for her and the kids - wedding bells will be ringing soon and her intended will be adopting the kids! Life is good - tho soooo far away!
Okay, off to finish ice house paper work and more coffee
Check back in later!

Morning Ruth ~ I thought I'd let you sleep in this morning and freshen up the coop. You've been so busy the past week!
Work day today, and its another cool, sunny day. Just wonderful
DD and I went out yesterday and started back to school clothing shopping. I honestly thought she was going to start hyperventilating in Priceless kids. Both her and I were actually agreeing on the same clothes!!! She was in heaven Good ole mom here even managed to pick out some really funky stuff she loved (turned out to be her fav of the day) and it wasnt too out there for me We managed to fill a big bag for less than $50. I think one more trip for a few more things, and we will be set.
I do need to get ahold of some "cool" trimmings so that I can add them to the bottom of her pants. Her legs are growing faster than the rest of her........and flood flares just arent cool!! She agreed on the trimmings though, lets hope I can find some neat fringes and stuff.
Not much else to report, so have a great day everyone!!
Just a quick check in. Wanted to send a big welcome to all these terrific new "faces" we've been seeing! Hope you'll jump right on to the daily and chat with us. As you can see, anything goes on this thread. Afterall, weight loss isn't just about food (or lack of it, lol) For some reason real life with it's ups and downs, stress and other issues play a part.
We love to chat about good days, bad days, kids, shdh's or the occasion dh, etc.. Sometimes we even talk about lizards, snakes, worms and doggies!
Looking forward to getting to know you all! With that said, I know of a few lurking chickie friends out there I'd just love to hear from!
Okay, guess I'd better do something productive before dh gets back in the office!
Well, I'm starting to think I remember where stuff is in my house. After 5 weeks away, we were home for 2 days and then off to Houston for 4! Now we're home for LONG time *whew*.
Houston was fun - we visited with SIL, went to Gringos for dinner (yum!!), saw the Astros beat the Cubs on Sat and went to SpaceCenter Houston and the Kemah boardwalk on Sunday. I'm not much of a seafood person but discovered shrimp in Houston is very yummy. All the restaurants butterfly the shrimp & stuff it with jalepenos (Gringos) or crab meat (Aquarium at Kemah) and cheese and then wrap it in bacon and grill it. Main dish eating was easy for OP but I have a real weakness for Tex-Mex so I did have some margarihitas and chips w/ dip. Back to being good today! At least I didn't gain anything on my long weekend.
SIL & family don't really do breakfast but had gotten supplies for me. They were blown away when we turned out bacon & eggs (with all the fixings) for 7 every morning
My first batch of school clothes arrived for the kids today so we had a fashion show and now I need to call Land's End back and give them the whole new order for the things we want more of or are returning or need in another size. Ah well, at least I can do it from the comfort of my own keyboard ...
Ok, off to make steak and a veggie stir-fry for supper.
Hello ladies!! I have just completed my first completely OP day in several weeks..I got on the scale today and was properly horrified...
So, as soon as SHDH gets home I am going to get on my treadmill...he stopped for "a beer" 2 hours ago, I am not pleased......got my hair cut, eyebrows waxed and a pedicure this afternoon, I am ready to be skinny!!!!
Greetings, Chicklets. Ruth, you can cut those zucchini in half lengthways, scoop out the seedy centers and stuff with seasoned ground meat. Top with spicy tomato sauce and grated cheese and bake until all is done. Easy to make OP too. Nice done alongside of stuffed peppers and tomatoes.
MamaJ looks like we both have daughters in the UK. Mine is expecting a baby in November. It IS an awfully long distance and I'm so grateful to have the Internet. I could never afford the long distance charges. Still, when she phoned for her Dad's birthday last week it was wonderful to hear her voice. I'm gonna have to get a microphone for my puter.
I'm back on Atkins now. I found the extra carbs allowed in SBD set me off with awful cravings. Just on Day two of the 5 week challenge. I sure hope I can melt away some of this accumulated blub. I too had a shock when I got on the scale (although I shouldn't have been surprised considering what I'd been stuffing in my face).
We're having one helluva heat wave here on the (normally) Wet Coast. I don't step out the door if i can help it. Blinds and windows shut so it's like a cave in here. This is when I wish I had A/C but for a few weeks every other year, it hardly seems worth it...until the temp soars into the 90s. Whew!
First - gotta say - Hi Dottie & kfs, snoflake, scooby & Linda!! So glad you stopped in!
Now Linda ~ It's late so I'm going to try real hard not to get on my soap box! But goilfriend - I luv ya! And I am here with you every single step of the way! What can I do to be your woe'ing buddy? I know you are a terrific person - and so doggone knowledgeable---I would love to see you go to the point that you want to be at !! <<Big Hugs>> And awaiting your reply!
Welcome to all the lurkers!
Scooby - so sorry to hear that you have the shdh this week - I've got a wonderful husband but an equally intolerable shdh!
Awwww, shucks, MamaJ, that's so sweet. Oops, forget the sweet stuff. You are just so kind. I really depend on all the support I find here. Even when I'm really feeling down on myself, I cheer up right away when I read all the helpful posts.
