Hopefully today will be a better day. I managed to barely stay op yesterday. Had a little tussel in my head last night in the grocery store. I found a compromise and made it thru
This heat is really getting to me. I dont know how you chickies who live in the southern states do it. Its hot and muggy, and Im crankier than h*ll. It didnt get past 95 but omg, this northern canadian girl just cant take it!!
Im off to read more posts, I hope everyone has a great weekend.
Good morning! Wow, that coffee tastes good! Thanks, Janice!
We are hot and muggy here too, RobinH, but I am making an effort not to be "kwabby". I sat on the deck at 6 to watch Mother Nature open up for the day and it was a tad uncomfy. Of course having two furry dogs who want to sit beside me on the bench for a cuddle didn't help the situation.
I was planning another trip to town today but decided to leave it until Monday. I do have a few (!) odds and ends of gardening to finish up - like stick a couple of plants into bare spots. There are two more months of gardening weather so I may plant some more lettuce and chard for fall healthy veggies. Of course, I'll give up if it is too darn hot!
Good morning, ladies. I am starting out a very frustrating morning. I need to toss out the scales for a month. Maybe then I might be in better spirits, at least for a while! I don't know what is wrong, or why I am not losing weight, but it is very frustrating. I am either going to drop carbs all the way down to induction, or I will switch to SBD. Something has to give soon!
Mothers - don't forget, tomorrow is National Kid's Day. Do things for your kiddies that they do for you on Mother's Day! This is a good holiday to promote family time and make your children feel especially loved, just the way they showed you a couple of months ago! We're going to give Cody breakfast in bed, a gift, take him to the movies, a children's museum, and he gets to choose dinner. He's been counting down the days for a couple of months now. I think he gets more excited about this day than he does his own birthday!
Ok, got to go to work. See you all later. Have a healthy day!
Oh I have got some serious water problems. Yesterday I discovered rusty water coating the basement floor and the pump working overtime. The pressure bulid up made the tank run and run and run. Called our friend the plumber and he told us that if we don't replace the pressure tank, the pump and the hot water heater soon we are going to have a HUGE mess. He told us that we may have until the end of August to replace it all--grand total $1500!!!! Of course I'm having a heart attack,we are just getting by right now!
So we've ordered the pump and now we have to shop for a decent heater and our friend the plumber is coming back to install it all. Despite all the problems, he didn't even charge us! Whatta guy
So I'm off to anxiously await the plumber again and if he can't fix it then I'm off to my Grandma's for a couple of days until all the parts are installed. Don't worry, my uncle has internet so I can check in every once in a while! But I'll let you all know if we are definitely going or not.
Bummer, Pooky. We have a leak that I am watching anxiously. DH is too damned stubborn to call the plumber but I think we will need a new tank at least. It's nice to know you can escape to Grandma's place if there's a horrorshow mess.
Oh pooky, i'm so sorry to hear that, hot water tank problems over here too, the dishwasher is taking 2 1/2 hours to finish a cycle, turns out the tank is ice cold and the dishwasher is doing all the heating work!! Ugh. Guess the dishwasher warranty isn't gonna help with this one.
Yesterday wasn't so bad, thanks to Ruth and her toe jam, I giggled right through dinner But I found another odd thing out on this little road to thin. With my plan I can have one carb during the day, it just has to be at dinner and the vegies, and meat have to be in larger quantities so....I had a roasted beef sandwich among other things. Big mistake OMG. First yeast product in 3 weeks and I swear I thought I was gonna die, I actually had to go home for an hour and digest that thing, it was horrible. I have a feeling I will be staying away from the yeaties from now on, it did not make for a fun evening.
This weekend's gonna be totally OP so help me, I think I'm still digesting that darn bun!
Bless us all with the willpower to do the right thing by these fabulous bodies of ours!
DS is at a birthday party, DD is on a playdate and DH is off to Costco so I actually have some quiet time in the house!! I decided not to spoil it by doing housework so I have been goofing off.
Thought I'd duck my head into the hen house and then go whip something up for lunch. Our next door neighbors are having a birthday party later and we're all invited so this will be a busy day. The kids picked up a copy of "Kangaroo Jack" yesterday so we are going to watch it tonight.
Well, we are still hanging in the balance however we do now have a brand-spanking new pump--made by Jacuzzi no less! LOL (too bad they don't throw in a tub too when you buy a pump!) That baby is setting us back 600 bucks. Our friend the plumber will return sometime in the week to replace the hot water heater and the pressure tank--that is it the tank holds together and we don't have a hgue mess on our hands. So we are hanging on by our fingernails but we do have water so that's a good thing. But by the time it's all over lots of money is going to literally go down the drain (yeah aren't I funny and sarcastic? ) So we canput the trip to Gran's on hold IF our tank holds out till we get it replaced.
Hey Pooky - Glad things turned out bette than you thought! We just went thru water/well probs this past week too. Is it a full moon or something? Cranky chickies,,,,, water probs, etc..?
End of another on-plan day...not that it is doing much good!
Rob was very enthusiastic when I mentioned I'd like to drag the treadmill out of the basement and bring upstairs to the living room. I told him I wanted him to go to the dungeon with me and listen to me walk and tell me if it was too loud for the living room, and he said he didn't care if it was loud. He's so sweet. He's just going along with basically whatever I want to help me with this. Now I need to find a way to incorporate a heated inground pool into a necessary weight loss scheme!
Time for my annual $100 wellness reimbursement plan at work. Anything you can't live without that I could put a 100 bucks towards? I can't think of anything except walking shoes. I want some bellydance videos, but I think corporate office would look at that as recreation, not exercise.
Sheesh, Jennifer. Belly-dancing IS exercise! I took it many years ago with an instructor named Randy Cherry (!) and had stiff and sore muscles all over. What is the wellness $100? Sounds like a good plan.
Not much happening today. Church is a Parish Service later this morning. It's a good thing it's raining or I'd resent not having it over with by 10. It's a Brunch afterwards which I'd forgotten. I was thinking of taking Hershey, the Churchgoing PWD, but may not as she is trying to stay OP and there would be too many treat-givers!
Six more sleeps until I see Linda BC and seven more sleeps until I see my DD in Nanaimo. I am determined to stay as OP as I can when out there as I am now solidly in ONEderland.
I may be posting for awhile today...went for a 6km hike yesterday in a provincial park here and I'm feeling it today. But not as bad as I thought I would, guess all that walking has paid off. And my fiance came with me even, I was truly amazed, he's one of those people who eats everything and doesn't gain an ounce but he never exercises. However, it turns out that I'm in better shape, go figure, lol. Not sure what shape he's gonna be in when he gets up. So far totally OP for 3 weeks and counting. Still feeling great and 2 more days of this long weekend to go.
Only discouragement being that I've been at 204/203 for almost 10 days but once TOM is over I usually drop like a stone so I can hang in there. I'm really looking forward to Onederland. Ruth your 196 is looking really good about now
Morning all,
Another gloomy day in MA. I am spending the day finishing up laundry and packing. I may take the kids out somewhere today, they are driving me crazy! DH played golf, but because it was a 3 day membre guest all weekend, he went out alone and was done in 2 hours! So he is home finishing up the deck, an 8 year project BTW.
Peachy, I wanted to tell you how excited i am for you. I know your binge is coming to an end and your new life will beging. You are do lucky to have Jiff in your corner to see you through the tough first few weeks. i am also glad we have a touch line to you too. It has been a long road and i know you have done all the right things to lead you to this point.
So far, my weekend has been op and Ive gotten some exercise in.
Its raining here again, but Im not complaining at all, its cooled everything off nicely. Im a much nicer person when its cool. Something else I realized today....this is the first summer that I have actually lost weight. Summer's are usually my worst time.
Dd and I are going to check out the movie listings, and see whats playing...if nothing too exciting is happening, then we may hit the science museum and check out the dinasours.
