We haven't lived here all that long. Moved from NYC, but before that - I grew up in the South. So I'm very new to this whole area.

It's been an experience!

We had just moved over here before 9/11...we hadn't been here very long at all. My apt is right on the waterfront facing the WTC. We had an unobstructed view of the whole thing. It was, as everyone remembers, quite awful.

But I was glad we were here and not there, obviously.

I was going to talk about diet stuff, but it seems kind of hollow now.

Ok, how are we doing here kids? Everyone hanging in? I've ht the wall with my own weight since Saturday so I'm just waiting and waiting for that next little loss. Will stay off the scales till Monday (Sunday is the last day fo our "official" induction but I think we'll go for another two weeks) - I hope I lose something because if not, I'll be SOOO disappointed.

How are you guys hanging in?

I got my period this week UHHHH of all things to make the scale not move except up.

I'm thinking of weighing myself after the two week induction..oy.

So far I'm finding it easier to do this. I still crave chips and M&M's but not like I did on monday. I'm going to bake a cheese cake for my boss on friday (her birthday) she's a low carb eater (who is skinny and beautiful)... if you'd like the recipie I can give it to you. Its awesome !!! I was thinking of making it in little muffin cups as a treat w/dinner.

Other than that ROFL !!! I'm doing great !

I would LOVE the little recipe and I like the idea of doing it in little servings. I'm not craving carbs at all and to be honest, I just haven't (maybe I got lucky on this one thing) had that to deal with. My husband isn't craving carbs so much as he's just wanting something sweet. I think a little cheesecake (esp with fresh strawberries) might be something new he'd like to try. THe recipe would be MOST appreciated!

I have found that some things are starting to taste too sweet. I LOVE my Diet Coke, but by the time I finish one (and I'm down to two a day - as opposed to two liters, which would be my pre-atkins average) it tastes just too sickly sweet. I have also started using less Splenda in my tea (iced or hot) and I'm thinking I might do away with it altogether. This has to be a phase. "Too sweet" was not even a phrase that ever made sens to me in the past.

Also, going off the sugar has done wonders for my skin just in the past ten days. I have always been able to tell that sugar makes my skin nutty, but doing without (and drinking all the water, no doubt) is like a skin miracle!

posted this somewhere else (another thread) but I'm going to paste the same thing here because I feel like such an IDIOT!

Here ya go:

Also, I think I just discovered the source of my stall - friggin Splenda has .8 carbs per packet. Now, if I have two in my coffee in the morning, two in my tea in the evening, and about a million glasses of icaffine free iced green tea with one each - HMMMM, wonder what the problem is???

I can't BELIVE I've wasted a whole week with this STUPID mistake!

ACK ACK ACK and a thousand times ACK!
