Another great day is cranking up out there. I hope it's as glorious where you are.
Well, my herb garden now looks as close to Martha Stewart's as it will ever be. Harry hugged tired old me last night and congratulated me on two days of very hard work. I was out there this morning and it's looking good, especially in the early morning light. Today I'll be doing more work out there getting ready for tilling. You chicks probably think I'm nuts but I have cut back. We used to have a 60' by 200' veggie garden out there but now it's 1/2 that! Yes, I was nuts. I also have a big perennial bed in front of the house, another in the dog garden
and assortted wildflower beds and other flower spaces. But I love working out there and really appreciate being able to do it this year after last year's sore shoulder/wrist season!
Dogs are barking - be back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This barking is out of hand! The Girls feel the need to defend us against every noise from outside. Yesterday was difficult as my neighbours were gardening and their dog was out. Hershey really starts it all - she is protecting her daughter's virginity, I think although "Austin" is an altered male. I am seriously considering one of those anti-bark collars although I hate to zap my darling girl. The current panic was over a truck across the street but they acted as though it was in the kitchen!
Jennifer, what IS with that boss of yours! Do you ant to borrow my chicken purse filled with lead shot?
Pooky, I am sorry about the Paxil. I am sure you will cope in your usual inimitable way. DH sounds very supportive.
Nasus, maybe nasty notes are the way to get a handle on your family. Don't let them doormat you any more.
Adrienne, I hope all the good chickie advice re your stall helps.
Robin, we want pictures!
A big wave to the rest of the chickies. Have a great day!
Morning Ruth and L - getting ready for work thought I would check in...only 3.5 days of school left, thank god - I am so sick of trying to get DS (kindergarten) to get up, eat, brush his teeth and get dressed...and of course DH hears the fighting and just ignores it and goes on with his morning....UUUGGHH
Anyway another busy day on tap at work. I start going in early next week as school is out I can't wait, in and out. However, I do have a trip to Dallas next week after the Monday holiday! So...my plans will be on hold.
Hope everyone has a great day...Ruth I am sure you garden is awesome - I wish I had time(motivation ) to do it!!!
Rachel, my oldest child, who is now 22.....was/is like you kindergarten age son. Getting him up was the biggest chore this side of the Mississippi. I hope your little guy gets better about it......I'll pray for you
Ruth I love to hear about your garden, makes me think "maybe someday." I have too much shade, my poor hubby has tried every which way from Sunday to grow 'maters......with no luck.
Day 2 of the relapse and it is going a bit easier this time around. Before I would need to be hospitalized but now I just need a lot of rest. I called up one of the other moms and a friend of mine who normally goes to the drop in and she's going to take M off my hands this morning and Thursday morning so I have a chance to cope a little bit more. The thing with this darned medication is when you start it, it takes about 2-4 weeks before you truly start feeling better. For me, I'm not starting in such a bad place this time so the effect will be a lot quicker. I'm expecting about a week. I can still quasi function in my own house and I couldn't the last time this happened. Hopefully it won't be so bad.
Ruth, have you used one of those barking collars? Does it hurt the dogs? Rosie will bark at wind blowing in the grass! I was hoping one of those things would help.
Rachel, sounds like you only have 3.5 days left of sanity! We're putting M in daycamp over the summer here are doing anything special?
L, hope you get a hole in one! (is that the right term? )
Well my meeting with my boss last friday was indeed ax falling down. My last day at work is May 30 and I have until July 28 to find a new job in the company and then I am terminated. So because dh is freaking I am job hunting. Although with at least 600 people at our site loosing their jobs, it will be like trying to win the lottery.
You all know that I had hopes of being a sahm, and I still do, but to be let go from a job I have been at for 20 years is a bit difficult to accept.
Last Friday after my "notice" meeting, I bought frozen pizza and champagne and had my own pity party at home. Saturday I began to feel good about having the summer with my boys, and Sunday I began to really think about it and became angry, as they have provided me with no one to pass on my responsibilities to. I have many customers that I do not wish to leave hanging, I would like to refer them so someone.
Thanks for letting me vent, I am back op and exercising!
You too Pooky, although I'm not caught up on my posts, so I'm not sure what's wrong.
My router died. No puter at home for now until Linksys sent out a new one. DH is not happy. I'm at work doing double duty; co-worker on vacation, so checking in may be sporadic.
Hi all I feel so relieved. My worker friend that had quite came back that means no extra shifts for me!1 unelss others call in but no realy push and shove kind!! unless I want it. the cash can come in handy but so can the sanity!!!
I did OK yesterday but the afternoon killed me I need to find some thing that will help me over the hump in the afternoon, then I will be well on the way back down. I can rationalize my self right into anything and well I wish i could sell Avon like that I would not have to work!!!
So for me It is a trial for today to see what will work.
DH is now on 10 hour days that means fridays off. good for him but bad for me. more of a mess to clean up!! (but after this last few days I think i have finally sunk in for a few days!!!)
Went to get blinds for these darn windows and well they are too long. Blinds only come in 64 inch length. my windows are 73!! UGH so I got shades They come in 72 but if i place them down a bit or not draw then all the way down it might work. I am tired of it being so cold/hot and having to watch what I wear through the house!! I also got a curtain for the bathroom down stairs, as well as a shade so I can rid of that rotten blind that comes down short about 12 inches!! and not worry about if in the night time people are looking at my shadow sitting.
OMG the funnies thing happened a few years ago. DH was doing his dialy chore (he is a sitter) and he was getting ready to do some turkey hunting so he had his turkey call in there practicing. Well he was making some horrible noises if you can imangine. we he got outside he found the kitchen window was open (bathroom is off the kitchen) and best yet the neighbors has some workers in the yard working on the siding!! HOW FUNNY!!!!
well anyways I must get some of the food I bought made for the week so they do not get hungry and eat me out of house and home!!!
