Just starting us up. I need coffee and a couple of Advil as I've got one of my infrequent headaches. I wonder what that's about?

Back in a bit.

Good Morning Ruth and all to come!

Try using a compress on your head Ruth and have a lie down for half an hour. Oh and drink a glass of water (just because you should! LOL)

M has a light fever today so no preschool for her. She's going to be a couch potato instead I am going out into the garden to start raking the side of the house. Hard to believe but it's going to be May this week! Got to prep my gardens for planting--very sad condition right now as it is.

Need to drink more coffee, my brain is a little fuzzy!

Have a good one everyone!

Default Good Morning Ladies

Its suppose to get really nice and warm today. Hubby and I are off to find rocks to make Inukshuks for the store. I had made a big batch of them in September, and they sold like crazy for christmas. So its time to make more, since I only have 3 left.

Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon in the garden fighting with that papery stuff. It has roots growing all thru it and over top of it. I only got a very small percentage of it out of the garden Its almost impossible to remove. From what hubby tells me, its been there about 15 yrs. Can I till this stuff? I really need to get rid of it, so I can dig in some good compost, peat and soil.

The backyard is all raked and leaves bagged and ready for trash day.....the grandkids came over to turn over rocks to find worms. They had a blast!

Have a great day everyone
Robin

Red face Good Morning Everyone...

A tired Monday morning to all!

I had to deal with awful headaches all weekend! I even have one now! I think it is allergies, although I have never had them this badly before...

Lost two pounds this week, so I am back to the weight that I was before I went on vacation. I guess that is OK.

DH and I adopted a tiny abandoned kitty this weekend. He is so small that I have to bottle feed him. He is orange and we named him Thomas. I will try to post a pic later. Now I have FIVE cats!

Oh well, gonna have some coffee and see if I can't kill this headache!

Good day to all.

Back and feeling great! Did not do the cold compress thing, Pooky, but will try it next time. I think it could be a sinus headache.

Pooky and Robin, isn't it wonderful to finally have Spring! I ache from raking and clipping but am just so happy to be able to be outside with the robins and finches. No bugs ....yet!

Anyhow, after the headache left, I wrote a list of things to do in my journal and have already done some of them - I love getting a jump-start on the week. I even washed three antique quilts and have them outside on the line! I was amazed at how dirty the line got over winter - chickadee poop maybe? I have a pot of beans in the oven for Harry's lunches. He just informed me that he prefers canned beans to my homemade! Oh, well, they can go into the freezer for the inevitable drop in visitors.

More work on the front flower bed is on the schedule today. After that I will tackle the dog garden and see what perennials have survived the Lucy/Hershey Garden Design Company. I think I will be putting tomato cages over some of the plants. Last year a favourite bed was the clump of peach daylilies! The deck overlooks the Dog Garden so I want it fairly decent.

One little problem is solved. Our neighbours who have a huge garden adjacent to our meadow have been using our water for the past year. They have decided to look after all the lawn cutting and trimming for us in exchange. Sure suits me! No more putting up with Numb Nuts Norm and his erratic schedule! Life can be good.

Well, I am going to take a stab at the taxes and then walk down for the mail. See you all later.

Talking Morning Ladies!

Ask me why I am smiling this morning....ask me....well, I don't have an answer! HAHAHaha
Starting Re-re-re-re-re induction today...so far so good. I got up and had NO eggs or anything carbless in the house for breakfast...sooo I went thru Burger King on my way to the grocery, I got an egg and sausage biscuit, and threw the biscuit away before it made me eat it. Then I went to the store and armed myself for the week, now I am not so dangerous....I hope!
I think on the weekends someone sits on my couch and throws all kinds of trash and toys and etc. on my floors. Mondya mornings are a real drag around here cleaning. And the bad thing is I CLEANED YESTERDAY!!!!

Gina Marie--I about hit myslef in the noggin' after you wrote dear brother--I mean...DUH I guess since I have no brothers I don't even think about it.

Ruth Pooky, Robin and all those to come--good morning and have a great OP day--whatever your plan may be!!

See ya all later

WTG Miss D! Re-induction is hard, but with the right food in the house, it is soooooo much easier!

For all: Here are some photos of Thomas the Kitten!

Good Morning Chickies!

L and I survived the auction on Saturday night. Since we were helping with check out, etc. we were the LAST people to leave at 1:30 am - I'm still dragging today. At least the kids are in school so I can nap.

I had a good week, plan-wise, until Sat. night. Ask L about me and the chocolate dipped strawberries . After 5 weeks of low-carb and no sugar they were trying to figure out how to get me down off the ceiling . I'm back on induction and doing ok, except for massive thirst - guess my body wants to flush itself back out.

I'm giving myself a week away next week (not from plan, from life) so I am scrambling this week to have everything ready to go.

Pooky: when they're little and glued to the tube they're "tatter tots"
RobinH: I love Inukshuks! DD made one in the first grade when they were studying Alaska and I still have it on my desk.

I've done some work, been to the gym and surfed the net so I think coffee is definitely next on the list...

Here I am...checking in again.
Just logged my food in so far and I have had 8 carbs so far today. I have been eat-eat-eating all day. I guess that is typical of re-induction though. gotta stave off those carb-cravings.

I forgot to ask Robin what an Inukshuk is?? I have no clue..
I'm telling you the carbs have infected my brain!

Water Water Water girls and also.... drop the cookie!!

Oh da wee kittie is too cutie!--oh yes he is, sooo cutie!! What pretty blue eyes too! I really am a cat person, but since there would be a snowball's chance in **** we would own a cat (dh likens them to rodents), I'll take Miss Rosie instead I had black cats myself, all male. Loved them to bits and so very nice. Cried buckets when I had to give them away....

Garden is half raked-- 7 garden size garbage bags later--yeah-7!! and I have pretty much done my exercise quotient for the day! Need a nap now....zzzzzzzz.....but I have some leftover laundry to do...sigh.....

here are some photos of Inukshuks

http://www.brosha.com/resolute/pictures_4.html

"Inukshuks, (an Inuit word meaning “In the image of man”) can be found along North America's Northern shores, from Baffin Island to Alaska."

"Originally built as land marks to aid in navigation, Inukshuks have been adopted today as a symbol to remind us of the value of strong relationships"

Kinda cool
