Default I'm posting a menu for help!

ok I just f igured out that I have lost 3 1/4 pounds in the month of Feb. I entered the challenge wanting to lose 8 pounds. Boy was I dreaming. Now here's my diet. What ever is wrong with this!
1c. decaff coffee
9 glasses of water

4eggsw/2 tsp butter
4 slices bacon

4slices bacon
2oz cheese

2oz cheese
1boiled egg
1/4c sauteed mushrooms w/ 1T butter

2cups salad veggies
4oz chicken breast
2T ranch dressing

4 T of that miracle whip recipe

I didn't enter this into fit day but this is really typical of every day. Hmm maybe I should do fit day again. What if I'm way off calorie wise?

I don't think you're eating enough. I eat huge portions of stuff, a steak as big as my hand, 8 or more slices of bacon, 3 or 4 boiled eggs at one time. Makes me sound like a pig compared to your 2 oz. of cheese! But, the calories have to stay up around 1200 for me or it's no use!

Mind if I ask what your losses are and what the time frame is that you are looking at? Atkins only allows 4 oz of cheese a dya so I never go over that. Maybe I need to bend the rules a little.

The last time I weighed was 2 months ago, 220. Started out in 2001 at 267. I don't stick strictly to induction, and sometimes I even eat bread or sweets! But, I had a problem over the summer with eating little of nothing. Very bad, gained weight every day on NO food. So, these fine chicks convinced me to EAT! So I did, and it is literally falling off. Now, I pay more attention to eating a good size meal and less attention to how many carbs there are (although I still stay away from potatoes and pasta, they are my downfalls!!) and it's working for me. Good luck to you!!

I just put this diet into fitday and it shows 1700 cals for the day.
I'm thinking it's too many cals. I'm glad you found something to work for you! Congrats on your loss.

are you exercising?
......and the month isnt over yet! Youve lost 3 1/4 in 3 weeks with a week left to go.

IMO for what its worth, cut back on your eggs, and bacon, and eat more veggies, salads and meat (real meat like chicken etc)

Your body can't really loose more than 1 1/2 to 2 lbs per week. Because of the big "induction" losses that many people have on the WOE, they expect to keep that rate up. Since much of the initial loss is water, it will take your body a while to catch up and settle down to loosing fat. Eight lbs in a month may not be reasonable, especially since you had a greater loss in prior months. You lost 14 lbs. Relax.

Just ride it out. And try increasing your veggies a bit. Green beans or broccoli are also high in fiber and might help you if you are a little "stuck." Constipation makes you weigh more, you know!

seems to me that varying your protein might help. and that means good quality proteins, like meat and fish. chicken. veal. cheese is good, but fish is better. looks like you're in a real rut here.

and i agree with dottie.. add more veggies... the low carb ones.

I went to the Atkins site and copied this for you:

**Processed meats, such as ham, bacon, pepperoni, salami, hot dogs and other luncheon meats—and some fish—may be cured with added sugar and will contribute carbs. Try to avoid meat and fish products cured with nitrates, which are known carcinogens. Also beware of products that are not exclusively meat, fish or fowl, such as imitation fish, meatloaf and breaded foods. Finally, do not consume more than four ounces of organ meats a day.

Maybe the bacon is killing you. Also, are you adding ANYTHING to your coffee? If so, carbs may be sneaking in there.

I agree with the other girls. Don't worry about the calories, but definitely add more low-carb veggies and meat besides bacon. If you are eating the same thing day in and day out, your body has probably just adapted to it. Get a copy of Woman's World for this week. It has a great article and sample menus on pages 18-21. Notice how varied their menu is. Maybe you just need to shake up your routine a little. Don't get discouraged. At least you're lighter that you were last month. Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks ladies for all your advice. Boy this takes a lot of fine honing! I'm going to lok at each little thing but I am also considering a high protein lo fat diet that allows three sevings of carbs a day. The nutritionalist I see has a diet called BE LEAN. He put all my stats in his puter and figured that I need 18 oz of protein a day and 1435 cals. I can tolerate up to 3 half cup servings of carbs in the form of brown rice sweet potaotes etc.
He does body fat analysis through ultra sound and I am 32 % fat
I think I'm going to go that direction. Decisions , decisions! I will make this weight budge! I will not give in to temptation to throw in the towel! I will do this I will, I will!!!!

the bacon is definatly adding salt whhich will add fluid to your program how much water are you drinking. that ia a huge key to weight loss. it should be 1/2 oz to every lb of weight. so you should at 130 be drinking 65 os of water shich is a galon atleast 8 8oz of wateryou may want to up that amount with taking in salt. some times cheese can also stick you. that is the reason that atkins stick to less that 4 oz daily.
