Default Hump daly chat, Feb.19/03

Morning to the greatest chicks ever,
How is you day so far?
We have the new snow THROWER, man that thing knows how to blow snow. DH was out last night for 2 plus hrs. He is going out again tonight.
Well it is now 5:35am, -5, and we had some new snow last night.
I have tomorrow off as I work this weekend. I go to tops tonight, i feel so full, is a nice word, but I feel so thick! I have been on my tredmill, but as far as a diet is concerned

No more doubts
and nomore excuses-
It's time to turn on
thouse creative juices!

Well all for now it is time to put on my snow pants, dry my hair and go to work. I worked 2 extra hr. yesterday as one of the workers could not get in because of the snow.
Oh yea, I guess the extra sweeping [because of the salt and sand] might count as some extra exercise?
Great going on 6 or any, but 6 pounds, this week.

Love Tazcat

Up since 3, so plenty of time to post! Did my walking tape, and folded a load of wash, and made lunch, and showered, and just waiting to go to work! I feel horrible, but at least got a head start on things.
Not much going on, just the midweek tedium, as Leens says, SSDD. Tonight my big goals are to get to the dry cleaners, and a quick grocery stop. Wow.
But I shouldn't complain, I have scheduled a vacation for Mar3 for a week. Yea!
Hold on chickens, the worst of winter MUST be behind us!

have a good one,
dottie

welcome back Beacon, I remember you! Hope the first day goes well! Don't forget you don't have to skimp on portions that first few days; if you need to eat, go ahead and EAT PROTEIN!

Good morning Dottie and Taz - 3am Dottie, whats up with that??

I got up at 530 walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I have a bone spur in my heel and it is realy starting to bother me..

Continuing on the path of low carb - would probably lose weight quicker but I have been including berries - blue/black/strawberries every once in a while - I have lost 7.2 lbs in 3 weeks so it must not be hurting me too much. Which I am glad of as I cannot stand to give up fruit and that is what has derailed me before....I start with some fruit and end up with cake!!! This time I decided to include some so I would not feel deprived.

Cold Cold Cold here and still gray we have not seen sun in five days and they are saying it will be 5 more - but it should get warm the next few days in the 60's then very cold weather this weekend and BAD storms YUK!!!!

Well I guess I will hit the shower - is anyone doing the Leslie Sansone tapes? - can you do them on a treadmill or is it just walking in place - I am curious?? Walking on my treadmill is getting boring.....

Have a great Wednesday ladies!

Good Morning early chicks!

I am a few minutes away from dropping M off at daycare and dh at work and then coming home for a quick shower then out the door to go to the dentist (UGH!). After that I have grocery shopping, pick up M from daycare, pick up dh at work and then yet another headache filled meeting. Oh joy.

In there somewhere, I am going to find a little time for myself. I hope!

Taz, enjoy the blower, I sure wish we owned one--seems stupid to live in Canada and NOT have one (except Linda of course who lives in BC and is spared this foulness). Maybe next year....

Dottie--3am! Hokey smokey! You must be getting pretty tired now--take care of yourself today.

Rachel, I agree with you. I think part of my stalling out is the lack of fruit in my plan and I need to reincorporate it to give myself a break.

Hope you all have a good one!

Hi all! Just popping in to see how everyone is doing. Thanks to everyone for the big congrats! I think I lost that much because it was my first week and a half on induction and I'll probably slow down a bit after this. We won't even discuss how much weight DBF lost! Why why why do men lose so much faster!!! It is an unfair and unjust world when it comes to that!! Today is the day we close on our house!! I'm sooo excited but I won't see my DBF at all from now until we move because of all the stuff he'll be doing at the house.

Well I hope everyone has a good OP day...my work week starts today so if I don't get a chance to get back in here I hope everyone has a good weekend too!

Hey everyone. Love my new car! Hate this weather, this dang cold, and sometimes I even hate my job. Today isn't one of those days, as the bosses are away so the mice will play!! Going to find something interesting to eat at work because I'm tired of soup, soup, soup. Maybe actually go out and get a steak? Sounds good to me!!

Hope you all have a wonderful day, take some time for yourselves!

WOW you productiive people! I've been awake since 3:30. but have i accomplished anything? of course not. Spent the first three hours just laying in the bed, wide awake, but still laying there, then the rest of the time, I've been sitting in my chair. Right now I'm trying to come up with an excuse not to go to exercise.

My dad is really getting a lot worse each day. It is now to the point where my mom can't physically take care of him, but the are in the gey area between having too much to get help from medicaide, but not having enough to pay for help on their own, we have spennd the last few weeks trying to find something or someone to help, but keep comming up empty. Anyone have any idea? Does anyone know anyting about Hospice? do they provide physical help (such as bathing, transporting, etc) or is it just mental (helping prepar for death) I called mom every other day we were gone and she told me every thing was going okay, bt when I got back I foorund that at one call dad was laying in the floor unable to get up (he had fallen trying to get into the bed) and layed on the floor for about 45 minutes until mother could get someone to come help her get hime up. She ended up calling a mam that works for us to come help her. Needless to say I feel really helpless and really depressed, and you know what that means to me! EAT EAT EAT, it'll make me feel better

Oh well, since I didnt coome up with an excuse, I've got to get ready to go to the club and exercise. Hope eeryonehas a great day.

Good Morning All!!

Well, I am hoping that the kids go back to school tomorrow! We are all getting cabin fever here! I am planning on taking them to McDonalds play for lunch today--and they do have dance class tonight (I hope!!) so that will help!

Well, so far so good this week, May not have stayed under 20 carbs--but pretty darn close! My rings are getting really loose on my fingers--and it is my TOM--imagine that!

Scooby--BONE SPUR--UGH!! I suffered one when I was working and on my feet all the time-first thing in the morning--YOUCH!! I did get a couple Cortisone shots that really helped! I don't seem to have that problem anymore--must be because I sit on my butt all day .

I did 1 mile on treadmill again yesterday--I'm with Scooby though--B-O-R-I-N-G!! I even have the TV on down there now-I just can't wait to get off that darn thing! I'll probaby have to bust out the Tae-Bo tapes again today!

Well, girls-have a great day!

Default AGEOLDIE

We must have been posting at the same time!

Hospice is used for pallative care in my area, you need to have word from his Primary Doctor saying he has X amount of time to live, and it has to be under like 3 months or something. When my grandfather finally had Hospice coming in, they did bathe him, and her was pretty much bedridden that last week they came. There was not someone there 24 hours with him, just someone who came and checked in with him and the family. Have you tried putting an ad in the paper for a Home Health Aide? Or try one of the many home health care facilities that employ those types of people. This is a very difficult time, and I pray that it is not made more difficult for you and your family by not having the right kind of care for your father.

Take Care..

Happy Hump day!

Nice day here. Our employee health group brought in some nurses from a local hospital to conduct a Healthy Heart Screening. Since I arrive so early at work, I was asked to help them set up. I was the first to be screened. Eating right and exercise sure provided some impressive results. HDL was 57 (should be 40 or more), LDL was 117 (should be less than 130). They gave me a new value to work on Waist to Hips, should be .8 or less, mine was .88. This value relates to the caution of the dangers of weight carried in the middle. Although not within the good range, it is a workable value to correct.

Well tonight is ski club for Don and dh. Darren and I will be going to religous ed and then over to WMU to catch the second half of the women's basketball game.

Samatha ~Nice to have another Michigander visiting the boards. Congrats on the 6 lbs. Men have it way to easy, it is great that he is doing this with you.

Goodforme ~Glad you have your new car. Isn't it great when the bosses are gone. I always seem to get more work done.

Pooky ~Please try to find some quality "ME" time in your day. With your schedule, I think I would go crazy!

Scooby ~I include one piece of fruit in my program each day. Fruit has become my "candy" and it has not hurt my program a bit. We have been getting some really great strawberries here lately. I made about 4 dozen chocolate covered strawberries for Valentines day treats for co workers and friends. I even indulged in "just 1" for myself and it did not cause any craving problems at all. I have adapted the idea that I cannot survive on any program that totally deprives me of things I enjoy, like fruit. I just keep my indulgences to a minimum.

Dottie ~Sounds like you completed a full day's worth of activities before most people are out of bed.

Taz ~Is a snow "thrower" different from a snow "blower"? We have a snow blower, but dh is to lazy to use it lately and I refuse to try to start the darn thing. So my driveway has been shoveled this year, at least it is good exercise for me and a chance to get outdoors.

Ruth ~I spoke with the lady yesterday that breeds Labradoodles in Michigan. I am very excited. However the demand is so great that the waiting list goes through at least two breeding seasons. I will be sending her an application to get on her waiting list. I miss having a puppy.

Happy op day to you all!

Samsa - Good luck on your closing today! It is so exciting! I am doing this WOE with my DH and he has lost 16 to my 11 pounds! How frustrating! I just have to keep reminding myself that, I am not a man!

Ageoldie - So sorry to hear about you dad. That helpless feeling is awful. If you eat from stress, please forgive yourself... Take care...

Just a quick hello to all! I posted my WI results on my usual weekly thread. I pound this week...

A quickie again! I was up and on the road before 7 this snowy morning and returned the tile roller thingie to the rental place. I treated myself to breakfast out and ate only 1/3 of the homefries!

Kevin is just installing the vanity now and then will be done for a bit. The floor looks great and I've started stripping the vinyl part of the wallpaper. This is gonna be a big job! There are 15 different wall sections in the room and none of them are square. Remind me not to pick a plaid wallpaper! Next is clear the sauna, measure for shelves and bung them in. I hope to stall on that until next week.

Gotta run and throw in some laundry before lunch, make a quick trip for some plumbing stuff and then go to afternoon Bible Class. Who says retirement is boring?

Talking Happy Humpy Day !

A quick in and out for me too! Beautiful springlike day in Houston.

Up early again (darned insomnia and stress!) and did some before dawn flylady and mt. laundry stuff. Bit of office work and finally a haircut. Unfortunately dh is on his way back to the office and I didn't quite get all the stuff he needed done - so, there goes my little puter time!

Barb ~ thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Hugs to everyone here and soon to come!

Hopefully more tomorrow!

J

PS - I guess I should let ya'll know that the appointment has been set with the plastic surgeon to complete the "planned" procedures. I'm scared crapless but we'll see how next week goes. I'm still praying about it. So, we'll see after visit on Feb 26th!
