Good morning!

Had a great relaxing birthday dinner. Harry cooked - he still can. He made a Mediterranean chicken stew which is darn near low carb. I may post the recipe later. We were planning to go out but it was too damned cold to drive anywhere out there!

Whoops! Back later. Need to intercept H and the coffee - fasting bloodwork for him today!

Good morning everyone! Ruthie, I'm sorry I missed your birthday, but it sounds terrific! Hope you enjoyed it immensely.

It's been hectic around here and looks like it might stay that way. There seems to be some surgery in my future because of this darn mess I've been in since last June. I'm thinking hysterectomy and my stupid doctor is thinking d&c. Who will win?

Off to find some caffeine, hope you all have a lovely day. Hugs to all who need them!!!

Hi gang...thought I would join in your conversation if ya don't mind??? ....
Very cold out here this morning.. Don't know how much more of this weather I can tolerate.. Think I would rather have snow>>at least the temperatures would warm up>>>LOL
Happy belated birthday Ruth.. Birthdays are always fun right??
Goodforme I remember having so much trouble with my monthlies w hen I was 32...my doctor gave me the choice... I opted for hysterectomy...Seeing as I wasn't having anymore children..My baby was 8 years old at the time...I had a bladder lift at the same time as the prengnancies weakened mine...Not sorry I did...No more keeping the pad companies rich>>>LOL now I leave that up to my 19 year old daughter to do...hehe
Have a great day all of you...hugs Jo-Anne

Good Morning all you lovely chickies...... looks to be another beautiful, sunny and FREEZING day today -- ummmm, all you Canadian chickies - would you puhleeeeeze stop sharing your cold fronts and Alberta clippers with us!!!!! Yesterday was a lovely day off, but today is back to work - afternoon shift, so I'll be home in time for West Wing!!!

Jif -- I wish I could have done the sono..... BUT, if I had, we might have laughed so much that I would have had to wipe up the table!! Anyhow, as I'm sure your doc told you (or the tech if she was nice!) - fibroids usually don't call for any procedures to be done, unless they are causing/creating problems. Many women have them, and don't even know it. You know the old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"? Well, that's how fibroids are usually treated! As for "official" menopause - welcome to my world! Remember, you now have a VALID excuse to be a *itch!!

Ruth -- wow! Harry cooked for you - how wonderful! Oh yes, did you know that you shared your birthday with the actress Faye Dunaway, with Andy Rooney of "60 Minutes" and...... finally...... (drumroll here) my newest nephew who was born yesterday morning!

Tazcat - thanks for reminding me where to find that recipe - I'm gonna HAVE to try it - I really miss my chili!

Sherrie - YOU should be the one to win! I gotta say that the hysterectomy was the best present I ever gave myself!! (well, almost........... )

To all the rest of you lovely ladies..... have a great day..... I'm off to find the coffee that is smelling so wonderful around here!

Oops, Jo-Anne you snuck in on me, girl! Welcome and have a great day!

Good Morning everyone!

In a much better mood today after making some critical choices for Miree last night with dh. Long story short, she will be attending daycare for full days on Wednesday, cutting back on on drop in center visit per week and I am getting materials ready to have her learn to write and know her letters before she goes to school. I also have some fun math sheets for her to do and hopefully I can find some programs for her to use on her computer. Hopefully, the whining and disrespect dh and I have been seeing lately will solve itself out if she's kept busy. Thank goodness swim lessons start up again next week!

Going to finish what I started yesterday and that's the laundry and general clean up. I have to get into the back nursery and sort and put away the Chrsitmas decorations (yeah, I know, I've just been a slug, is all).

Ruth, that chicken sounds divine!

Taz, I know how you feel--too danged cold. It's -18 right now. Did you find some pork rinds?

Sherrie, go for the hysterectomy. My mom had it when she was 34 (GASP! my age! ) and she loved ever minute of it.

Joanne, I'm curious, what part of northern Ontario? Are you way up in Thunder Bay?

Oh SamsG, you know we Canucks LOVE to share! Why, you can have as much fun with the weather as we are having! Have a great day at work

Have a good morning everyone.

Talking Happy Humpy Day!

Good morning you early birds!

Those cold fronts are expected to hit Houston tonight! 28 degrees may seem warm to ya'll right now but it's pretty darned cold for us wimpies!

More flylady stuff for me today. It's closet clean out! DS complains he has no clothes ~ Well, if you'd put them away and clean out that $#@%@ area you call a closet you may feel like you have a whole new wardrobe! Having the new den furniture has definately given me motivation to do some deep cleaning! Might as well while I'm waiting for some money to come in so I can do some decorating! Even dh used the D word ! Shocked me! He was looking around the room and commented he liked the look and knew that when I finished decorating it will really be nice! Actually I'm just trying to get myself reorganized!

Oops ~ be back in a few

J

Hey, Happy Hump day Ladies,

Finally read Sunday's newspaper this morning and on the front page of the family section was a full page article on the notorius FLYLADY! It really got my interest up, since so many of you are Flylady followers I am awful tempted. Are you girls still getting her emails? Has it really changed your life? I gotta know!

Nice to see you posting MamaJ

Has anyone heard from Jennifer? Hope she is doing ok.

Ruth That birthday Chicken Dinner sound great, I look forward to the recipe.

Jif ~ congrats to you on reaching the M Status!

Pooky ~ Sounds like you and dh made some very positive decisions for your dear Miree. How is that Rosie pup doing? Is she back to her ole' self yet?

Samsgrandma ~ Do try to enjoy being at work, at least it should be warm!

Welcome Jo-Ann and all the other new chickies.

Hi to Tazcat, Goodforme, and all to follow!

Have a great op day!

Hello Everyone,

Been a long time, nice to see familiar names still here... looking forward to getting to know the rest of you!!!

Got to loose more weight and chating with good people is a real bonus. I have missed the encouragement and support, that you give and get on this site.

Got home late from work last night ( caring for a 78 yrs lady with Alzhiemers) very tired mentally and emotionally after 55 hrs with her, usual is 48 hrs. Today I am off to help my son and wife locate and purchase the items needed for her recovery from hip replacement surgery next week - Tues Jan 21 ( wheelchair, walker, toilet riser, long handle grippers and shoe horn, wedge etc. etc.). This is a very big deal, as she is only 28 yrs old and has the hip of an 80+ yrs old... 13 rings of calcium built up as hip deterioates.

Will do my weighin at the local Tops group on my way home tonight as I don't own a scale (Been there and done the fixation on numbers) Starting Induction tomorrow once thats overwith things will go smoother!!! Right !!! O.K. I'm ready!!!

Have a great day everyone. See you soon!

Afternoon all!

First off, I need to know about this FlyLady stuff, I thought that was a code word for cleaning so spill it ladies!!

Just got back from Movies and Mcdonald's--I did get the grilled chicken cobb salad, and actually just ate the chicken off of it--salads are getting pretty old in my book too! It took everything I had not to eat my dd french freis. I don't know about all you other mothers, but that has been my biggest change--not eating off my kid's plates, or finishing off their meals. It takes WILLPOWER--I don't know how much longer I will last though if I don't start seeing some results, I usually lack in the willpower department.

Pookie--I THINK I understand--is the Jr. K required??

This cold weather is gonna kill me ladies--got up today -3 uh yuck!!

Scooby--glad you are feeling better--sinus is miserable--try some warm compresses over your nose and under eyes--relieves some pressure!

Well ladies--have a great day!

Hang in there Mis, your doing great. I have the same problem with my daughters food too....especially when its something Id really like lol Now I give her a hard time about not leaving any cheese for me to take off the plate, she eats all the good stuff....so now she offers and seems to do the trick for me.

Christian....Im glad the effects are starting to kick in....makes everything so much easier doesnt it?

Teaki hiya and welcome back

Odd day for me here.....was really down and weepy this am, which is why I didnt post anything, got my S**t together, and hubby started sniffing and sneezing to a point his eyes were all red and watery....so I sent him home. Im off to make him some chicken soup in a few minutes.

Northerngirl, if your out there gf stop in and say hi

Have a nice evening ladies
