Jennifer! When do you have to drink the barium cocktail? I hear that stuff is beyond yuck!
Robin, I am going to call the little specialty fabric store downtown to see if I can find anything out about a moose costume. I will let you know! Oh! Aren't you going away....well, I get any info (if any) and pm you.
Pooky, I know it is late, but I never did find a soft book for you in my basement...did you ever find one?
and hugs to all!
A quick trip to the market for something for dinner tonight and then a self imposed wrapping marathon. The big kid (long story) will be coming home for lunch and meds so I need to wrap and hide, wrap and hide. It all gets done, but Chrissy B how do you do it with your kids home for home schooling?
Boy am I in the spirit today! Wearing red santa sweater with red santa socks, and a santa hat along with santa earrings. We are having goodie day at work, a carb feast! Luckily I am only working until 10:00 so I will not be grazing all day. "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas..." is playing on the radio. Love it!
Tonight is my dinner party. First time I have done anything like this! I am making a boneless rib roast rubbed with Rosemary, thyme, and parsley. I am also making stir-fried string beans, mashed potatoes with french fried onions on top, and a cranberry/apple sause. For desert I am making mini chocolate bunt cakes topped with choco and carmel sauses and a tree shapped piece of ice cream. Oh, almost forgot, starting with a salad that includes pear slices and almonds.
Anyone is welcome to join! Wish we could all get together for a holiday feast! But I will settle for a chick meet in May. I cannot wait. Peachie, my dh gave me to ok!
I wish you a Merry Christmas!
I wish you a Merry Christmas,
and a Happy New year!
Debkay, you have to give us the full report on St Lucia. We also want pictures - we can put them up in the Yahoo Extra Coop
rather than in here.
Dondar, you sound amazingly Christmassy! I am so glad to hearr you will be at the may ChickFest. Was it the thought of that boneless rib roast that softened him up? Your menu for tonight sounds super.
Peach, when you are through the wrapping marathon, come up here. Bring the kids - Lucy can outplay any kid!
We now have our tree assembled in the livingroom, thanks to our friends Claire and Doug. Dinner went really well. We ate in the diningroom which meant I had to clear away my wrapping stuff on Gail's orders! She was cleaning and informed me that I had to do it because I have a pretty diningroom and should use it for company! What a tyrant! But she was right. I used my new Pimpernel Christmas placemats so don't have a tablecloth to wash today - just linen napkins.
This morning Lucy and I go to the vet. She needs a "butt check" because she is scooting - sorry to gross you out. I'll also get the vet to check her nails. I usually do them myself but this will be a treat for me - a pawdicure? I can't manage to do them with only one hand so......
My DD's Christmas parcel arrived yesterday. She included a wee bag for me to open right away - a great collection of Christmas earrings! Now I have to make decisions over which ones to wear today!
More wrapping on the agenda today - sure hope to get it done soon! I still have not got Harry a gift! He really wants a red vest but I cannot find one and it's too late to make one! Maybe next year when I don't have crappy wrists.
Gotta go put on appropriate attire for a visit to the vet for a butt check. Catch you all later.
I have spent much more time on the trees instead of things to go under them, so as of yet I don't have anything to wrap! Gotta get busy this week! I know what I want to get, just not done it yet.
Just wanted to pop in, don't have much time, gotta get ready for water aerobics. Ole Alvin has turned into the exercise police" and he'll ticket me if I lay out!!!
Well I am semi back to normal here, why is it that vacations tire you out??
Ate way too many carbs while away and feeling very gross now, bloated, tired and cranky.
Back on track as of today!!
Our adoption woes are heading to court, praying for a happy outcome. I really don't think it is fair that ppl can say yes, then no, then yes, then no. Just how many times can one do that???
I have faith that this will all work out for the best. Between you me and the lamp post, don't think I will ever travel down this road again. Had thought of adopting one more, perhaps through a private agency would be better, I don't know, just know I feel like I have been on the worst emotional roller coaster ride ever!
On a happier note, I did get lots of swimming in, shopping, walking and hot tubbing of course. It was nice to have a break from the phone, both the home one and dh work one!
Got prezzies to wrap here galore. Dh and I are not buying for each other this year, I got mine early, it is big and sparkly and a girls best friend (tee hee hee), he got his early too, no sparklies for him.
So just gifts for the kids and relatives to wrap, which is fine by me, I enjoy seeing others open gifts far more than myself doing it.
Robin - have a nice visit in TBay, weather looks good there right now, not too cold and not alot of snow yet either.
Well yall have a wonderful day, and happy wrapping to us all!!
no time.. but i gotta say.. BARB??? what got into ole alvin?? turning into the exercise police???? are you SURE this is the same alvin???
happy happy busy busy. more later, i hope.
oh. i did 30 minutes on the bike last night plus 45 minutes of machines [weights and things like that]. what a shock to my system!!!! and i don't hurt!!
I had a wonderful time this morning at the drop in Christmas party--the kids were in their glory, especially when Santa showed up! Miree had an extra surprise too, her best friend Skyler was there, they hadn't seen each other since Halloween. I think poor Skyler is bored at home with Dad all day (he's on paternity leave) since they never go anywhere. The good thing is that it's only till mid March and then we can plan some play dates for the kids to get together.
I am done all my Christmas wrapping save for a few small items but that's it. Promises to be a lovely Christmas this year, but it gets busier after Christmas! LOL
jiff, you're doing awesome in the exercise department--keep it up!
meowna, I'm so sorry you're going through all this, and at this tiem of the year too. Hoping and praying it all turns out for the best.
Barb, glad you have a great "policeman" to keep you honest! Way to go!
Ruth, seems oh so fitting you get a bag of Christmas earrings after that thread you started yesterday!
Umm, Deb? Pictures please!!
Jenny, your holiday cheer is infectious--I just caught myself humming Jingle Bells!
Peach, yeah, I did find one, paid an outrageous price for it but it's the very thing he needs right now. Either that or every book in the house is up for grabs! Happy wrapping!
a quick hi to all- before hitting the sack. last night I was up at 2 with insomnia, and if I don't get some sleep tonight somebodys going to end up dead, most likely, DH. So... off I go.
Thank you all for your good wishes and prayers for my SIL, they seemed to have helped. She has been stable for a couple of days since the weekend, and may come home from the hospital this week. She is not getting any more treatment, just IV fluids. But we're hoping she'll stay stable through Christmas, so we can be together. So, thanks friends, what a blessing you all are!
love, dottie
(hunting down carbs and eating them like a pro) Maybe next week will be better!
Hi everyone. Office Christmas party tonight, what a blast! It's always fun to see your boss soused, isn't it? Anyway, finally home and now it's time for bed. Talk to ya'll tomorrow.
