Smile O.K. I'm going to de-yeast starting tomorrow

I have really been looking into this. I am convinced that I have a Candida problem. I have almost every symptom that there is including the itchy ears and runny nose that I've been blaming on the dog. I have to wonder if that's why the Claritin and Flonase dont work. Benadryl works because I'm asleep!!

I bought the supplements that I need to do this with today. I need to do a little more homework this evening and make sure I know what I am not supose to me eating. I mean some of the stuff is already a no brainer...bread, cheese, mushrooms, vinegar products like mayo and some salad dressings. I need to make sure that I'm not having anything else that I shouldn't. I think that I should also be avoiding the caffeine so this will be a good time to get rid of that too. I'll buy some decaf and have that. Dont know about the Splenda I'll have to check that out. I think the only thing that I'm really going to miss eating is the mayo. Any ideas what I could have instead especially on my burger patties and with my bacon... sour cream would work I guess and that's an o.k thing to have.

I'll let everyone know how I feel when I'm done. I know that I've been cautioned that I will probably feel awful the first few days almost flu like symptoms but I'm a tough cookie and I think I'll do fine.

Wish me luck...hey, anyone want to join me?

Chrissy, may I suggest that you read The Fat Flush Plan by Ann Louise Gittleman. There's a two week "Induction" that is quite strict but liveable and it's a real cleansing phase. Yes, there is withdrawal but you really feel good after a couple of days.
BTW, here is a basic recipe for mayonnaise that is allowed on yeast free diets.

1 egg
1/4 tsp dry mustard
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
5 oz flaxseed oil
Blend egg & mustard powder. Then, with blender, add oil a drop at a time until it thickens. Add the apple cider vinegar slowly at the end. 7 to 10 minutes.
No salt or pepper allowed though. Sorry.

Don't forget to go and get some "good" bacteria to replace the bad. That worked well for me when I de-yeasted about a month ago. FYI - I didn't experience any bad reactions.

Angry

I used to have yeast infections CONSTANTLY, it was not good. But as soon as I started with low carb and cut out my sugar intake I have not had one in a long, long while (knocking on wood frantically). But it is so funny, as soon as I get off my lc plan I have one again. ugh.

Let me know how it works for you and good luck de-yeasting yourself!!

Thanks Dyan. I dont think I've actually talked to anyone else that's done this so your a good source of info to me.

How long did you take your supp. and when you were done did you continue to do a maintanance like after taking antibiotics ? I've read several web sites and unfortunately they have differnt info on some things.

As far as diet I'm just keeping it really simple and staying away from the thinkgs that I know would cuase problems.

Thanks again....ChrissyB

You know what Junebug I've never had a yeast infection. Well, one time I did. I was preg. with my first son and my Dr. caught it before I started to have any symptoms. He wanted me to get meds for it ( prescription at the time) and I didn't do it. You know I know it all and thought he must be off his rocker, there was nothing wrong with me. Well, the next day at work I thought I was going to DIE!!! ITCH is just putting it mildly. I did go and get that meds. on my lunch hour and thank goodness I've never had one since.

I am de-yeasting because I have almost every other symptom that I have read about.

I'm really surprised to be able to say that I feel good. I dont know if it's just wishful thinking but I feel alot better already. I started the meds. yesterday, unofficially, so I've taken three doses so far.

Dyan, how long did it take you to start to feel better when you did this?

I'll let you all know how I make out! Isnt this too much fun!!! LOL

Chrissy,

I didn't see your post this morning, sorry. I think it took me about 3 days to notice a difference. I took the supplements for 2-3 weeks. Basically I bought a bottle of them and took them til they were gone. 3x a day, I think. That something like 16.5 days worth for 50 pills. If I didn't miss a dose.
