Thumbs down Daily, Tuesday Nov. 19th

Starting us up........coffee is on strong and leaded as usual.........back in a minute

Debbie

---------------

I'm back, not a bunch of stuff planned today. Laundry and cleaning.

Have a question for you smart chickies. Last year we over purchased the cubed bread stuff for stuffing. I still have it, it has a Best if used by date of 10-19-02. Does anyone think it would hurt to use it this year? After all it is only stale bread. Any opinions?

Janice, glad to hear your Dad is doing well. When is he going to be released to go home? And how are you doing, other than the two doctor visits a day. Whew! I know how tiring that can get.

Ruth enjoy the visit with your daughter and grandchildren.

Okay fess up, who has finished your holiday shopping? Me, not this year........I have a few things but finished, I don't think so.

Oh, one more question. Does anyone have a clue where I could find a gingerbread man/woman cookie cutter? I have looked at Target and Wal-Mart with no luck. I want to make gingerbread cookies this year to put in my cookie boxes I give friends. Thanks.

Have a great day
Debbie

Hey Deb! Good morning to all you lazybones who aren't up yet, wish I was there! Really, really tired today, can't imagine why, up every 2 hours last night. Too hot, too cold, uncomfortable! Whine, whine, whine. Anyway, today is going to be better than yesterday, food wise. Hey, who can resist KFC's taters? Not me. I only ate a few, but I wanted to dive into that box! Got my eggs and cukes all ready to go to work with me, keeping on the straight and narrow from now until the birthday party tomorrow. Cake, anyone? Talk to ya'll later!!!!!

Good Morning Deb and Sherrie!

Quick one today, woke up late and I walked into a DISASTER! Miree is going through this "I can do it!" stage--well, she did it all right--emptied a whole container of milk all over the kitchen table, threw papertowel all over the floor trying to clean up (which of course Mss Rosie just LOVED) ate a whole box of goldfish crackers, found my Christmas candies (trust me, I don't like this kind so I'm using them at my family Xmas party), pulled out two Pediapops (freezies with electrolytes I give her when she's sick) and the grand finale was all the doggie doo in the living room because she didn't bother to put Rosie outside! Don't you love 3 year olds and dogs? So off to finsih cleaning I go...

Drop in center this morning (good thing too!) and a massive fly lady when I return.

Take care one and all!

Morning Chickies!

Having a nice slow day today. Hope all is going well with everyone.

Janice, please report in, hoping you are well!

Debkay, others may disagree, but I would personally do a taste test on the bread cubes, and if all tastes well I would go ahead and use them.

Pooky, Sounds like you have your hands full with a 3yo and a dog. Glad my boys have reached the stage that they can do most things on their own. Although, I am still more comfortable pouring the milk myself.

Booo to you Leens!

happy lc-ing!

Talking Hello to all.....

Up bright and early this morning. The boys started their school work around 6:30 A.M. They love getting up that early and starting their day because they have more time to play after school is over.

DH was sick yesterday and stayed home from work. He said he felt much better today and went in. I hope he doesn't push himeself like I know he will. He's stuborn at times

I gave the boys their haircuts this morning it's like an assembly line one right after another. Then into the shower they went. Everyones been schooled, given a haricut and a shower.
Now dear mom has the laundry to do and I would love to take a nice warm bath and sit on the sofa to read for the rest of the day. Oh, just the thought!!! I just might do it too

I've been batteling the sugar cravings again. I'll make a new thread about that!

Morning!

Well life will go back to "normal" today, dh goes back to work. I did up crafts yesterday for christmas, just about done my 12 pamper packs for the ladies of the family! Got my xmas cards ready to write up today! Ate hot hot wings last nite tummy is a little hmmm weird today.

Pooky- perhaps you need to invest in a doggy door and maybe leave out something Miree can have till you are up or available, cereal bar? Milk in a tupperware cup in fridge?

Ahhh kids, I remember my older 2 boys they were 6 & 3 cutting each others hair in the kitchen, cause they didn't like the cut I they had gotten the day prior! They are now 22 & 19 and wear their hair very short, clean cut (thanking my lucky stars, hate long hair on guys!)

Well I have lots of boiled eggs in the fridge to have should I be tempted for naughty foods, and more of those toxic wings too, think I will leave those alone today.

Gingerbread cutter? Check your grocery store, I have seen them at Canadian tire- Hardware store or a kitchen specialty shop, get out your phone book, save your gas. Happy Hunting Debkay!
Personally I would chuck the stuffing.

Happy OP day yall!

What size cookie cutter are you looking for? I was just at Hobby Lobby and they had lots! Have you tried a crafts store?

Personally I'd be tempted to throw out the stuffing, and subsitute a LC veggie. It's too tempting for me to be around. had a single bite (small bite) of pumpkin pie last night and the scale went up 1/2 lb this morning.

Good morning, chicklettes.

Had a great LC breakfast this morning and watched the seaplanes land in the harbour just outside the hotel diningroom. Went for a walk after breakfast - mild and misty morning. (Yes, I miss my Girls.) Also popped into a really nice clothing store and met Cynthia. I'm giving her this website addy as she is a low carber. Gorgeous simple clothes! I may be back there before 5:30 tonight.

I have two gingerbread cutters in my stove drawer but I'm sure you can find one at WalMart, Debkay. As to the bread, I agree - taste test it. I find bread sometimes gets that old freezer flavour.

Hey, Christmas has started here in Nanaimo! Mary Ellen my DD just gave me a coffee in a mug with a Christmas tree!

Sherrie, sounds like you are getting back on track foodwise. Keep it up, girlfriend.

Pooky, this too shall pass. It sounds to me as if life is perfectly normal at your house. Matthew is 3 and behaves the same way as Miree. Kids and puppies!

Meowna, isn't this a great west coast morning for touring? NOT! Next time I come out here will be for a longer visit - maybe we can do a beach meet or something. Good ideas for Pooky's kid/pup dilemma.

Dondar - let me know if you want a PWD. Unfortunately they are winter puppies again but let me know.

ChrissyB, I'm laughing over the sight of your boys all lined up for haircuts. You sure get your days off to a fast start.

Janice and your perky purple puppies, CHECK IN!

Hey, LindaBC - did I beat you today?

Will check in again later.

Good morning Chickies. I'm feeling very "Ruthless" this morning. Miss that gal already.

It is pissing rain here which really isn't a surprise because that's our normal November (and December, Jan. Feb, March, April, May and often most of June, July and Aug)weather here. It is kinda depressing though.
I'm thinking about starting my Christmas cards but I really, REALLY hate doing them. If anybody here is thinking about sending me a card, please keep in mind that you probably won't get one back. I have spent the last 20 years trying to cut my card list to the barest minimum and I have no intentions of increasing it now. A greeting here will have to be sufficient.
I'll leave all the elaborate Christmas preparations to you young gals. Been there, done that and I prefer to take it easier these days. This year our main holiday meal will be at #1 daughter's home so I won't even be decorating the house up very much this year...just our tiny fiber optic tree and a few mantle ornaments. If we entertained a lot it might be a different story but we live very quietly.
I just posted a delectable cheesecake recipe that I hope you'll all try. Ruth seemed to love it and I kinda like it too. It's very filling so a small slice is all it takes to curb hunger pangs for hours.

Sheesh, LindaBC! Mary-Ellen and I eat because it tastes good, not to stave off hunger pangs! How the heck do you think I got to weigh 210 pounds!

Fly-by! Been trying to say good night for 20 minutes now, but I can't seem to hit that shut down button!

Have a wonderful Wednesday, will be here tomorrow evening...today was a big day, got up at the crack of dawn to see the meteor shower, but was too cloudy. Hit the snooze button 6 times, then got in the shower, worked all day, drove by and picked up dd and ds and we all went to the dentist, then to the atm then to harry potter, then to eat and then home to get the regular nightly stuff done and I am pooped!

Have full week ahead, Cody has belt test in karate on saturday, so have to practice a lot, plus he is an indian in the school play on friday and I still don't have a headband for him! I don't know what I am going to do!

Ok, this is really it, nighty-night! Be back tomorrow evening!
