Food Logs for 11/4 week

  • I think it would be a great idea for all us who are on some sort of plan to post what we have been eating. If its something particularly tastey, pls give us the recipe. We all need help with ideas and something different. I know I get tired of chicken all the time. Low carb snacks that are quick and easy are great too.

    Here's mine for today.

    Breakfast...2 scrambled eggs with mont/jack cheese

    Lunch...left over taco salad from last night.

    Supper...baked chicken with .5 cup of broccoli.

    I wasnt hungry for supper, but thought I had better eat so I dont get the munchies later tonight.

    According to fitday, my carb total for today is 17 with a total of 1722 calories for today.

    I'll have an herbal tea in a few minutes. I dont count tea or coffee with my little bit of milk. Its too nitpicky for me.

    Anyone else wish to share?

    Monday was:

    coffee with cream
    water - 20 oz
    breakfast ~ Atkins bar
    water - 32 oz
    lunch ~ protein shake
    water - 32 oz
    beanless chili on sauted veggies
    more water

    5:30 am ~ one hour of cardio and weight training.
    7:15 pm ~ 2 hours of volleyball

    Monday:
    Breakfast: roast beef with cream cheese and sprouts rolled up in 2 pcs. of lettuce
    Snack: cheese crisp
    Lunch: Middle Eastern lamb with salad and hot sauce and white sauce (I think the white sauce was made with yogurt - sigh).
    Snack: leftover lamb and a little broccoli and spagetti squash casserole
    Dinner: broccoli with butter, 1 oz. white American cheese.

    Tuesday planned:
    Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled with 2 or 3 sausage links, one slice white American cheese
    Lunch: sauteed chicken breast with broccoli and spag. squash casserole
    Snack: hard boiled egg
    Dinner: ?

    So far here is whats planned

    Breakfast, 2 scrambled eggs with 1/2 cup chopped spinach, 1 oz mont/jack cheese

    Lunch, roasted chicken breast

    Supper, 1 cup broccoli with butter and either chicken or hamburgers (have to check the freezer)

    Snacks might be herbal tea and a slice of cheese or a hard boiled egg. But I find if I exercise in the afternoon, I dont want a snack. Im usually pretty full from lunch. I have also noticed that if I eat 2 eggs in the am, instead of one. I dont get the hungries all day.

    Remember, there is a difference between a hungry stomach and a hollow stomach. Just because my stomach is empty doesnt mean Im hungry. That has gotten me thru many snack attacks.

    All my water...all day and a 45 min walk, mid afternoon.

  • Oh god, ok I ate a low carb bar. I did not want to do this this week because I feel they slow my weight loss. I think I am one of those people who when they have something sweet it's the same as having sugar. The problem is everything tastes so salty!! Argggh! Rant over...I'll just pick myself up. Anyway, that was my snack for this morning. Probably won't have the egg.
  • I love to do this, it really helps to see what I ate, and to get ideas from others-

    yesterday(my perfect day)
    b- breakfast muffins(mini quiches with breakfast sausage and cheese)
    l-salami and swiss, salad
    s-chili meat
    d- broccoli, steak

    ta-da!

    Today(less perfect, but acceptable):

    (up at 5am)
    6:30- 2 fried eggs
    8:30-1/2 c. cottage cheese
    11:30- cheese and chicken legs
    3:30- salad with mini mozzarella balls and olives(YUM)
    7- hot dogs with cheese melted on top

    had peanuts for a snack, and 2 diet sodas today.

    I am still sort of hungry, hoping tomorrow with be easier.

    ended up having 1 cup broccoli with butter and 2 hamburgers with italian seasoning and feta cheese mixed in it....with a blob of sour cream on each patty!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmm very tastey!!

    no snacks......ill have the rest of my water, pee another gallon and have a nice hot cup of wildberry zinger tea

    Tilly.....those bars are just too good!!! I had one, mocha crunch and i was amazed. So Ive sworn off them. That will be my chocolate fix when I need it. I get that taste of sugar and im done!

    Dottie..getting up that early mess up your schedule? It sure would me!

    Monday:
    B Smoothie

    L Atkin's roll-sandwich, with turkey and cheddar and red onions

    D Roast Beef, zucchini,onions,mushrooms medley and peas.

    S sugar free pecan cluster

    Tuesday:

    B scrambled eggs with onions and cheese

    L whole wheat bread with tuna salad

    S broccoli/cauliflower and dip

    D chicken alfredo, lima beans, steamed carrots.

    S sugar free choc ice cream

    I haven't made 100 ounces of water either day, but I have been able to about double what I was drinking last week, which wasn't at all enough!

    Robin, are you sure you had 1722 calories? It doesn't look like it! The taco salad must have been a doozy.
  • PS, I know the limas and the carrots weren't the lowest carbs on the block, but there were only a few carrots, and I figured I needed the fiber from the limas.

    I went back and rechecked my fitday for the day I made the taco salad. It was actually the day I had the left overs for lunch. So that plus everything esle added up. But I managed to keep my carb count down. I dont eat alot of green leafy stuff. So I used broccoli instead. That added alot more calories than iceburg lettuce would. But I wouldnt trade that recipe for anything...lol I crave savoury tasting foods now instead of the ravioli and pastas. This is as good as it gets, and it was delicious!

    Weigh in days I alot more calories and more carbs if I feel I want them......gives me the week to work them off

    Todays totals were 13 carbs and 1270 calories.
  • Yum Robin, you are the second person this week to make me crave taco salad! I think I will have to make it this week. Gosh, my stomach is growling, I need to go to bed before I get the snackies!

    Jennifer, carrots are a great convenience, I have not eliminated them from my lo carb program. When I need a fast snack it is much better to grab a handful of carrot instead of a muffin!
  • I ended up eating ANOTHER low carb bar in the afternoon! I just cannot have them around. Dinner was egg salad on pork rinds with broccoli sprouts...mmmm.

    Today:

    Breakfast
    roast beef with mayo and broccoli sprouts nestled in two lettuce leaves

    Snack
    Not sure - I don't really have anything on hand. Don't want to go the bar route again!!

    Lunch
    Egg salad on pork rinds with sprouts (can you tell I love this meal?), broccoli with butter

    Dinner
    Unsure. I am going out and I don't know where we will go - possibly middle eastern. I'll try to stick with the meat and salad in that case.

    The good news is I lost 2 more lbs!! I'll be updating my signature, I'm now at 148!!!

    Breakfast- 2 scrambled eggs with mont/jack cheese

    Lunch- chicken breast

    Supper- meatballs and broccoli
    Todays totals 10carbs, 920 calories

    no snacks planned....I'll post them later if I have any

    going to bump my water intake and see if the itching subsides again.

  • I need to do this too. It's been SO , SO hard getting back on track. I haven't had a really good day and I'm supose to be on my second day of induction. It's those silly mid-day cravings that are getting me.

    This is what I had today. Please dont cringe. It's not the best but, it's better then what it has been for the few weeks.

    Breakfast~~ Sausage.
    Lunch~~ 5 snack size candy bars. I know. this is where I made my mistake. After I ate that I knew that I would have more if I did'nt feed my cravings with protein so I made a BLT salad. I just browned 4 pieces of bacon and put it on 4 lettuce leaves with a little mayo and rolled it up. It's one of my favs.

    Dinner~~ Maybe some burger with some salad. That sounds good to me.

    Need to have some more water too.
