Coffee is on! I am going to have to try L's coffee though...that sounded good!!!

Got a flu shot yesterday. Dh took me and I think that it was his idea of a date Today we expect alot of rain, and I think that I am going to spend more time in the basement and then take mom to Kohl's and do a bit more Christmas shopping.

Hey Debkay! Did you spend a quarter on the buggy? Did you get your quarter back? And when your dh returns from his trip are you going to tell him about it? I didn't mention it to my dh, he'd have me out there collecting carts from little old ladies!

My eating is great until about 9pm. I would be at goal if it wasn't for the evening hours. Got to get a grip on that!

I have found my perfect dream job. I want to be a sales representative for QVC. Where else could I wear nice clothes that I don't have to buy and stand and talk for 20 or so minutes on one subject with a side kick and phone callers who agree with everything I say?

I don't get that kind of respect at home!

off to empty the dishwasher and then hop in the shower! Sherry....want to come up and use my water?

You all have a great sane and balanced day!

peach

Peachie, I promise to save you some hot water! Oh, to have just one bubble bath! Thanks for the offer!

It's back to work today, even though I feel crappy. Tommie tried to get out of school, but I nipped that in the bud! Wow, to learn how to manipulate mom at such a young age.

Ya'll have a terrific day. Talk to you later!

sane and balanced??? In this life? Wow what a concept. I'll have to try that someday.

Yes Peachie I think a QVC host would be aperfect job, except you would be subject to the ridicule of ole' Alvin. We were at a dinner party last night and he did his imitation of a QVC caller. He swears that they have about three women on salary who's only job is to call in and rave about the products. I wouldn't mind that job either, If it paid enough

Supposed to be getting the checkbook balance to pay bills, but this is more fun.

Dad didn't get to go home yesterday, they took him off the medicine, and he deteriated, so thehad to hook him back up. Now they are talking dialysis again. Meanwhile it's been 16 days in the hospital, and my mom is exhausted. she won't leave him.

The good news is I have a new laptop ordered. DS bought it on ebay and it has all the whistles and bells. Cant wait to get it.

Hope everyone is doing okay, I'll try to catch up on the post from work later.

Sane and balanced? Good luck!

Raining this morning so I may not get for my walk. I do have an umbrella and a poncho but somebody ate my rain boots. (They were red and she loves red licorice.)

Yesterday I finally got out the rest of the winter clothes. I made a discovery in one of the closets - my lovely soft blue washable raincoat! Too bad it is a size 16! I am going to hang it in my sewingroom as inspiration to get down a few sizes.

Peachie, your DH sounds like a clone of mine. When I suggested we go out to dinner and a movie, he dug up an old movie and put it on the VCR!

L144S, I'm glad the potluck went so well. Our minister's wife has invited about 25 for dinner and we are trying to persuade her to make it potluck - planned potluck so it's not all desserts.

Goodforme, I really would miss bubble baths too. What's with these workies who don't show when they are scheduled? I sure hope you get the water back soon - ever considered checking into a motel for a few hours to have a nice long tub?

Barb, I hope things stabilize for your Dad soon. Is your Mum staying at the hospital all the time? Cuddle your new laptop - you deserve it!

Today is the day I have to decide about this wrist. I am going to call the surgeon and see when would be the next date for the operation. If it is too far in the future, I'll stick with the Oct. 23rd appointment and try not to whine. I KNOW that the problem with the right wrist is that I used it too much and pulled the stitches. That won't happen with the left one. If I do get the left done before my trip, I'll travel with two wrist splints and try to look helpless. There still must be folk out there who'd haul my case out of the car.

Time for another coffee and then a decision re the walk. Maybe it's a Leslie Sansome morning. The dogs love it! They leap around because they think I'm dancing.

Have a good Hump Day, Chicklettes.

Default Good Morning!!!

This is my second attempt at a post, my friend, who has temp custody of my chicken purse called, she was having a mini-crisis. All is well now.

Barb, sorry your Dad didn't get to go home. I so understand about your Mom being worn out, my Mom refused to leave the hospital while my Dad was in also. I'm thinking good thoughts for your parents.

Sherrie, little sweet Miss Tommie trying to get one over on Mom, I just can't believe it. Little girls, watch out, they do become teens.

Peachie, I didn't make it to the quarter store. I do still have plans to go, maybe tomorrow. Had to laugh about you stading there collecting quarters from the little old ladies. Hey, just think maybe than hubby will let up on the job suggestions.

Barb I have to agree with ole Alvin, I can't stand when people call in to do their endorsement of a product on QVC, they just carry on too much. I always mute the tv or change the channel when that happens.

And Miss peach, I think you would be a great host on QVC. Just think of all the products you could buy........cheap! And don't forget CRAFT DAY!!!!!!

I had to turn the heat on last night, the first cool night of the season.

I'm off to put beef stew in the crock pot, the kids love beef stew, hubby can't stand it, so when he is out of town I always make beef stew.

Off to start my day.

Debbie !

Good morning chicks

Barb~~Prayers and good wishes are being sent your way.

Jennifer~~Don't forget to take your medicine today

Ruth~~It would be wonderful if you could wait on the other wrist. Somehow, I can't see you taking it easy during the holiday season. If your left wrist will be out of commission, you will over-compensate with the right, which is still trying to heal. But whatever you decide on, I hope that it goes smoothly.

Deb~~Finally cooler weather!!! But did we ever get days that were in the 70's without humidity? It would be nice to be able to open some windows and get fresh air in the house, without having either the A/C or heater on. It seems that we just jumped right in there.

Peach~~My most difficult time of the day is also late at night, while watching TV or reading a good book. I have a huge urge to munch on something like popcorn, chips or peanuts. Lately I have been having hot cranberry tea (decaf) and SF jello or a blended mix of SF jello with cottage cheese. If I've saved up on the carbs for the day I'll have some 94% micro popcorn.

Sherri~~~I hope you feel better soon

L~~~Slow down, girl

Has anybody seen Sue lately?

Morning all. Coffee in hand here! Having some time off today, going in for a haircut and hopefully a manicure if they have time. Need a break here, little Jay is starting the temper tantrum phase, my other 3 didn't react quite the way Atilla does, hmmmm. perhaps it is my age creeping up on me. Anyways, going to a potluck dinner here Sat nite, not sure what I am bringing yet! Any suggestions?

Ruthxxx if your daughter takes you sightseeing while in town, we have a lovely little town full of murals that is about 1/2 to my place we could meet there, they have wonderful little shops and lots of little restaurants, and a walkway along the ocean. Hubby and I go there sometimes just to walk. Your daughter should know the place.

Have a lovely day all.

She sure does, Meowna - Chemanus? (sp?) Gee, you and my daughter are the same age. She has a 3 year old. Maybe we can do this and let the kids tantrum each other to death!

Hey, I just changed my wrist surgery to November 27 - what a relief! Of course this means I'll need to do all my Christmas stuff before the end of November! Gotta do some planning.

Talking Morning low carbers!

Well I am just finished doing the one hour tidy before my mother gets here to watch dd4 while I go to work...otherwise mother dear feels the need to clean, clean, clean....I am working a 12 hour shift from 1130 am to 1130 pm. Should be interesting.

It is a cool fall day here, but the I must admit I do love all the leaves around the ground and of course the colors.

Well so far I have stayed on track with the eating....I am trying hard to get back on track today.....want to be down a few by Xmas.

Hope all is well with you all!

Have a great day!

Ruth - Instead of wrapping Christmas presents I bought a bunch of ziploc bags that are decorated with Christmas motifs, might be of some help with the wrist. Of course you could always train the dogs to wrap presents for you.....

Just a quick post today, I am anxiously awaiting my doc's call--had an ultrasound this morning and it looks like I have one big whopper egg ready to bust! Sooo...lots of phone calls and getting timing right--getting artificially inseminated this time around so I don't miss it! Dh says his troops are on standby

Sherrie, hope you have water soon! And yeah, I think little girls figure out how to manipulate mom faster!

Excuse my ignorance Peach, but what is QVC? Is it like HSC (Home Shopping Channel)?

Ruth, maybe a wait will be good for you--can't have you going around with two wings out of commission!

Sil, I save my pork rinds for the munchie attacks, and you're right, at night is my worst enemy!

to those I missed and those to come!

Sheesh! I go away for four days and lose track of what you all have been up to. I can see I have some post reading to catch up on.
I totally blew my diet last week. #2 daughter was visiting from Scotland, but I can't blame her. I just went into celebration mode I think. The Thanksgiving weekend was the icing on the cake (that's diet speak for pigging out ). We went up into the mountains near Jasper National Park for a wedding in a tiny little, gorgeous town and I ate myself into oblivion the entire weekend. Three turkey dinners in four days didn't help matters, nor did all the pumpkin pie and whipped cream, home made chocolates, gravy,....well, you get the picture.
For some reason I simply cannot face the idea of going back onto the Fat Flush Plan. Having stuck it out faithfully for nearly two months and only losing 8 lb (which I think I regained plus more this past week) I realize it's not the way I want to live. There are aspects of the Plan that I will keep and combine with Atkins. They are the cranwater, the Oil of Evening Primrose, the flaxseed oil and the ground flaxseed. All have done wonderful things to my complexion. I will also continue some of the vitamin supplements of the Fat Flush Plan, and I will try to keep my consumption of animal fats and dairy products to a minimum. We will see what happens.
I don't have time today to respond to all posts so I'll just say hi for now and hopefully I can be a bit more thorough tomorrow.

A midweek hello- DH works late tonight and I am surfing a bit and wanted to say hi!

I am in one of my diet slumps- ditch? pit? I don't know, but it's dark and dank and full of stupid carbs and tasteless fast food and quick and dirty sugar highs. I am working my way back, but am up 5 lbs, which is very painful. I usually stop at 2 or 3 and get back to normal. This is just slow agony- I don't even want to eat carbs, but just am so drawn to them right now. And believe me, I am not wasting my time on "healthy" carbs. I am trying to cut my calories some, but then the afternoon junk food thing comes over me and I am done for.

Today I had
6:30am- 2 Hebrew National hotdogs(up at 5 and leave for work at 6:45)
9:30 am(at work) frosted flakes with milk
12:00-salad with chicken, mushrooms, cesear dressing(brought from home,) sugar free pudding
2:30- 2 small but gooey danish, orange juice(at a meeting)
6:00- taco bell taco salad, cheese quesadilla
8:00- chocolate ice cream, about 2/3 c or so.

A mix of trying to be good, and just plain giving up. I stopped myself from driving through the Dunkin Donuts after dinner. What is that about? Orange juice? Really now. What was I thinking?

I'm probably done for the night, though. I'll be in bed around 9:30 and up at 5. I think I am working my way out of this, but I figured I'd better post here if I want to have any chance at all of getting back on track.

So , thanks for listening- I'll be better tomorrow, it's just a phase! I am not depressed or upset or anything, so don't worry- it's just sometimes you want what you want! Frosted Flakes, orange juice, Taco BELL! Yo quiero taco bell!

be good, chickens, sleep tight,
dottie
